Rules

You may not tamper with another person's character. If you wish to be included in that character's back-story, contact the person via private mail and discuss it with them.

If interested in the storyline, do not force your way into the story. Please send a private message and ask if you can join first.

Do not come here to verbally bash or assault another person. If you wish to do that, do it somewhere else.

Romance is fine, but do not bog down the story with sex (this isn't a porno).

The same goes for drug use and alcohol consumption - it's fine, just do not bog down the story with it.

If you have an idea to further progress a story, please contact the person running the arc via private message and discuss it with them.

The idea here is to have fun, not be bogged down in minor, excessive trivial details (example being how tall a mech is in centimetres or how a full suit of armour goes together and whether a person can sleep in such a thing or the finer details and aspects of how the force from Star Wars works or how warp and trans-warp from Star Trek operate).

As author of the main arc/story, I reserve the right to ask people to leave if I feel that they are doing something that flies in the face of the main arc/story, is disruptive to the creative force or breaking one to many rules.

As an English major I ask that your grammar, sentence structure and word use be as concise as possible (full paragraphs, proper noun usage, etcetera). Please no text speak, unless you specifically note that your character is typing on a mobile and no ebonics/gang speak unless you have specifically set up your character speaks that way (and even, please keep it to a minimum). In the long run, make sure people get the gist of what you are attempting to communicate.

Although I probably won't, I have the right to add or change whatever rules as I see fit or feel necessary whenever I wish. I do this in hopes of making them fairer, more understandable, etcetera.

Recap

After building her machine, the female form of Dr Ash Fjorde departed, sealing the universes and confining the RegenerX virus to three universes. In her leaving, she left behind a hologram and android version of herself. Both had their uses, but only for the select people that found them (Slag and Marie the Fallen). What there uses are is for a different story. This arc is to, hopefully, explain what happened to Dr Ash Fjorde after she left, who she really is and why it is she is a person with one foot in the future and one foot in the past.

Warning: A lot of what you find here is not so much Role-Playing but instead people horsing around and generally having a good time.

She stared at the objects she had collected, making sure she had everything she'd need to complete what she was about to do. In a jar on the nightstand, fire given by a erogenous Phoenix burned steadily, the perfect ingredient for a heart. Below it, two coils of metal lay on the floor; one being Deitanium, something that would make a fine set of bones, the other the densest iron she'd ever seen, perfect to forge an iron will.

Glancing at the bed, she took in the tree, grown in the Doldrums, the land that housed six of the seven Migdalas. Next to the bed was two beakers; one containing heavy water and the other containing normal water.

Satisfied that all was as it should be, for now, she took a deep breath. Knowing that it needed to be combined with one other item before it would be complete she moved across the room and glanced out one of the two windows at the ravaged city below.

Watching for the walking dead, she heard a noise coming from a radio behind her. As the compact disk she had playing switched over to the next track and Deranged by Coheed and Cambria began to playing, she let her thoughts drift.

As the song played, knowing she wasn't quite ready to proceed, Dr Ash Fjorde continued to stare out the window, wondered what had gone wrong.

----

Egypt, roughly 1894

He stared at the entrance to the tomb below, shining the electric torch one way then the other. Behind him somebody approached and seeing that it was one of the native boys and that he was carrying a rope, he told the kid in Egyptian, "Thanks, but I am not quite ready to make the descent just yet." and making a motion with his hand to his left, he said, "Just leave it over there next to the rigging."

As the kid dropped the rope next to a winch and pulley system, William Fjorde continued to stare down into the pit, trying to see into the inky blackness. Clicking off the electric torch, Fjorde picked up a wooden torch, wrinkling his nose as the reek of pitch assaulted his sense of smell and striking a match, he lit the top afire.

Staring at the flicking flame for a moment, William contemplated what had brought him on this expedition, how the museum he worked for had wanted new Egyptian artefacts and how he had found the location of a supposedly lost tome when searching through a Gentleman's private library just outside of Cairo. Reaching out, holding the wooden torch over the pit, he hesitated and than simply opened his hand and let the torch drop.

Watching the light from the torch spiral downward, William eventually saw as it hit the ground far below. Guessing the drop to be at least seventy feet, Dr Fjorde continued to stare downward.

When it became apparent that he was staring at a sand covered stone floor and that nothing down below was moving, he'd read journals and other books that spoke of snakes and rats getting into supposedly sealed tomes and how they could either be poisonous or be plague carriers, William stood up and gazed at the rope and winch system.

Glancing over at Talaat, the native boy who'd led him, William made a come here gesture. Eager to please, the boy ran over to him and bubbled out, "What is it Dr Fjorde. Are you going down now?"

As he moved over to the winch and pulley system and picked up the rope, he asked, "You're sure nobody knows of this dig? It is just you and me?"

Nodding, the boy told him that nobody did and that if there was anyone that did, they were most likely not to believe anything because there was nothing out here but sand, curses and the dead. Knowing this to be true, William said, "I am going to lower my stuff down first. After that, I will lower myself down. If you want to earn a bit extra, I need you follow me. But do so carefully. Can you do that."

Another nod from the boy and hoping he wasn't missing something, William Fjorde began to secure the rope. Afterward, he began to lower the essentials of his equipment down.
