I'm a pretty decent bookworm who reads books within a few hours of getting them if I have time.

My all time favorite book at the moment would have to be Beka Cooper Terrier.
User Image

It's about the size of a Harry Potter book if not a bit smaller, this is the first in the series and there are three books altogether.

Basically, it has a little bit of magic in it but it's kind of in the old days in a way and omg it's awesome. You read the story as what she's written in her journal of what happened that day or days, depending on the scene.

I often check it out from the library and can't get myself to put it down, even though I've read it about 10 times.

Also, I'm looking for any books to read lately. I need something new to read even though I love this book.

Supernatural, romance, old-fashioned etc books are lovely but I'll take what I can get, not afraid to try something new.

the ASOIAF series, commonly known as Game of Thrones. They can get slow sometimes but if you work through it they're always great. Also, the book Acheron. It's supposed to be a part of a series but it's a great stand-alone book. It has some dirty dirty in it so "beware". I'm currently also reading The Autobiography of Henry VIII. It's written from his point of view and takes place during his reign as king. It's pretty good.

Wut? You like Tamora Peirce books?

<3

I dunno I'd recommend 'A Song of Ice & Fire' if you haven't read those. That is the book series Game of Thrones is based on and it is really good in my opinion if you like plotty stories. Medieval fantasy. They are a bit mature though, not like erotica though.

Hm, for short reads grab Amelia Atwater-Rhodes books. They are supernatural with romance stories and tell a good story if the style is a bit lacking.

If you haven't actually read the His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman those are good as well. Fantasy.

Terry Goodkind - Sword of Truth Series, I haven't read these but my friends keep recommending it but I have to finish the book I'm on before then. Fantasy and a mature series also.

If you like classics, as in 'The Classics', if you haven't picked up Homer's The Odyssey you should.

People that like adventure, action and case solving (Along with western culture) Might like these few books.
-The Five Ancestors by Jeff Stone (A series of 7 with a few extra books. Fighting and adventure)
-L: Change The World by M (From the hit anime Death Note and based on the third Death Note live action movie. These's some art on the first 2 pages)
-Moribito: Guardian of The Spirit and Moribito: Guardian of Darkness by Nahoko Uehashi (Based on the anime Moribito and both are, in my eyes, awesome adventure books. Kind of a Japanese culture)
-Of Nightingales That Weep by Katherine Paterson (I haven't read this book in many years but I remember it being so good that I begged my school liberian to give it to me xD A Japanese culture book.)
I have lots more

I am totally a fan of Nonfiction so, I think that if you aren't used to reading it, go for a memoir. The book I would suggest to anyone who enjoys reading "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius" written by Dave Eggers.

Any Tamora Pierce Book! heart I love them all. If you like fairy tale type stories, I'll get my list together. OH! Eon and Eona ^^ It's very very nice. I'll go through my books and make a nice list for people (I have way to many books...)

I second the suggestion for A Song Of Ice And Fire. Awesome series.

An author I really enjoy is Tad Williams. His Otherland series is one of my favorite stories ever. I also enjoy everything else I've read by him -- Shadowmarch series, War of the Flowers, Tailchaser's Song (to be fair, I was a kid when I read that)... it's all wonderful.

I'd suggest Stephen King's Dark Tower series if it didn't completely turn to s**t by the sixth book and fall apart in the seventh. stare First five are good, though!

Neil Gaiman! GaimanGaimanGaiman! His short story collections are beautiful, Neverwhere is so much fun, and the duo of Anansi Boys and American Gods are some of the best books I've read in the last six years or so. If you have a lot of time on your hands, the Sandman graphic novel series is so good. It's been going for a couple decades, though, so there is a TON to read. You can never go wrong with Gaiman.

Is that a book from the Master and Commander series? I've heard those are awesome. I loved the movie, so I figure I'd probably absolutely adore the books. 3nodding

I adored Tamora pierce when I was younger. Have you read her song of the lioness and circle of magic series? they are also pretty good.

Onto my reading.
Personally, other than plays and textbooks Im on light reading, Im thinking of picking up Les Miserables but I worry I wont have time to read it...so Im sticking to Victoria Holt if this womens playwrites class doesnt take up too much time.

A book that I've recently been enjoying is "The Taker" by Alma Katsu. It's the first in a trilogy. I also just finished the Lords of the Underworld series by Gena Showalter...but it sort of fizzled out by the last book and was a little disappointing! I feel as though lately I've had no time for reading. D:
