Introduction
Welcome to the Book of Tyr, a medieaval fantasy role-play. While admittedly something of a reboot, I have reworked many aspects specifically for the purposes of this guild. Do take a moment to read through the information I have posted and in character posts before submitting a profile. Other than that, I have no rules. Just use common sense and of course have fun!

History and Setting
The kingdom of Rielledor has stood for almost a thousand years. Founded by war-hero Ulrich Rielle, a conqueror from across the western seas, Rielledor has long had a history of strife and warfare. In its earliest days, Rielledor was home to slavery and debauchery. It launched numerous crusades into the east, pillaging and burning the settlements on Korrabia’s borders. To the south, pitted against Rielledor’s superior military and advanced weaponry, Hoth gave up its northern lands in exchange for peace with its war-hungry neighbour.
Rielledor remained a dominant force until it attempted to invade the north toward the ancient kingdom, Tyr. There, Rielledor’s forces were utterly crushed by the wizards of Tyr. Overwhelmed, Rielledor retreated, simultaneously losing its grip on Korrabia. Defeat eventually gave way to a new religion, the Triad. As followers of the Triad rose to power, magic was outlawed, practitioners executed, and many non-humans murdered.
After a hundred years, it was Hal Tucor who finally brought an end to Rielledor’s dark age. A revolutionary by day and wizard by night, Hal earned a following and challenged the authority of the Triad’s priests. Later in his life he founded the Mage’s Guild, of which he made his daughter Archmage, and she in turn, went on to abolish slavery.
It was with Hal many say, that began a new era of peace and enlightenment, an era that has lasted three hundred years into the present.
Rielledor: The heart of our story. It is covered in dense forests and fields. Rielledor is ruled by King Luke.
Korrabia: Rielledor’s eastern neighbour. Bitter from old wars, and enslavement Korrabia remains hostile towards Rielledor. Skirmishes are still fought on the borders. Most of Korrabia consists of plains and desert land. Korrabia is ruled by Queen Englaz.
Hoth: Rielledor’s southern neighbour. Though allied with Rielledor it retains a neutral position on the Korrabia-Rielledor conflict. Hoth covers a vast expanse of land, stretching far into the south. In the north it has mountains and marshes. Hoth is ruled by King Saxtus.
Tyr: An ancient kingdom, long since collapsed. Located in the far north, Tyr and its fall remain shrouded in mystery to the outside world. Tyr is composed of forests, mountains and tundra.

Our story begins in the capital of the Kingdom of Rielledor, which, is also called Rielledor. Rielledor, like its country, is inhabited by humans, logical people with little regard for fairy tales. The witch burnings were long ago, and the last record of an elf or fae within the city even longer. For most, such things have passed into myth. Perhaps it is better that way though, as since those olden days the kingdom has prospered.
The city is a great sprawling thing, with tall stone walls surrounding it, save for on the bank of the Chatynne where instead there is a line of docks for fishing and anchoring small ships. The architecture is simple and practical. Most buildings are made from wood and one story, with several rooms. Of course, successful merchants as well as the nobility may occupy far nicer homes; and naturally, the royal family lives in a beautiful and expansive palace that has stood for many generations.
Rielledor is primarily a trade city. Resources are plentiful with the woods to the south and the great plains to the north, and the river provides bounty as well as a natural roadway to foreign lands. It has a large population and though a good deal prosper, along the western wall live the poor and destitute. Closer to the center of the city live the nobility and of course King Luke and the royal family. The rest of the city is primarily occupied by the merchants' district, which also holds the city square.
It is the fourteenth of October. Fall has been late in coming as the air is still warm. Leaves have only just begun to redden and fall. Recently, posters have been hung up all around the city. They read something like this:
"Calling all adventurers!
"His Royal Majesty would like to invite all who so wish to journey on a great quest. He is offering a reward no less than five ruthe to all participants. More information will be given at the Oak and Shield Tavern at Red Bird street on the 14th at noon."
