Caius is a college history professor at the young age of 21. Though, that is a ruse, as he's actually 403 despite his appearance. He's actually immortal, to an extent, living without aging but still vulnerable to death. It started since his birth, born with a pure heart, though at the same time, with a rare and incurable disease that would kill him shortly. Sensing his latent ability to heal, the goddess of purity, Noemi, used her powers to awaken it and succeeded in eliminating the disease. Caius went on living in the medieval ages, son of a blacksmith with aspirations to become a scholar. He was highly intelligent and cunning enough to fool thieves as a kid. One day, his village was attacked by a pack of ogre who wanted to take over. Caius attempted to get rid of them, tricking them into the forest and away from the village. But the ogres caught on to his trick and chased him into a nearby cave. As if by chance, the cave was home to a sleeping dragon, who awoke to rid the ogres and saving the young boy. This incident was what sparked Caius' interest in dragons. When he was 21, he began to take over the family business as a blacksmith when an accident occured. A fleeing woman was chased into his place of work by a pair of thugs. Trying to protect the woman, he was pierced in the heart by one of the thugs knives and the two ran in fear. Surprisingly, he didn't die and the woman turned out to be a runaway princess. He was knighted for his bravery and self sacrifice to save the princess. Well aware of his healing ability, Caius didn't think it would prevent him from being killed. It was then that Noemi appeared before him and explained that her amplification had accidently evolved his powers so he was constantly healing at an accelerated rate. This healing prevented him from aging or dying. Caius didn't want that, realizing the cons of such a power and requested Noemi to remove them. Unfortunately, it didn't quite work as it removed his healing but he would still continue living unless he was killed. He also came to discover that he wasn't aging either and would forever look young. Caius seemed to be fine with this, only regretting that he'd always outlive his friends throughout life. After being knighted, he began sword training and journeying across the land, finding numerous dragon artifacts that he infused with his armor. To avoid trouble, Caius creates various identities throughout time and moves around constantly.
