I started it last week, and it's been pretty hardcore ... Has any of you guys ever tried to challenge yourself with it? ... I've gotten use to training, but this was pretty intense ...

Not a fan ... sure is it effective ... yeah ... I suppose ... but the problem that I've always had with any DVD set ... they don't do a very good job showing proper form ... and that's my quelp about Insanity ...

Its mainly a, "We're assuming you'll pick it up after a while." Kinda thing ... Which you kinda do, but then it means those other couple of days that you weren't quite doing it right causes you to lose some of the benefits from the work outs ... I know DVD fitness crap is kinda cliche, and I'd rather be working the mats, but ... I seriously need to get in better shape ... I'm not looking to get yoked though, I just want to be in good shape so the, "I wasn't in top form" line won't be an issue if I ever lose a fight ... You know?

It falls in the same vein as the whole "learning martial arts from a DVD" thing. It can be done, but it takes longer than normal because you have to learn to listen to your body telling you when you're doing it wrong or right. On topic, the Insanity workout is interesting but I think the level that it appears to push a person to is unnecessary for most people who are just looking to get in shape and lose a few pounds. I can see it being useful for hardcore cardio enthusiasts and extremely gung-ho Marines though.

Though I've gotten the rythm, and I "feel" like I'm doing it right ... Also ... I'm doing it, because I seriously want to change ... And I'm willing to "gung-ho" for it lol ... I've come from a family of diabetics, and obesity, and I'm the only one coming close to breaking the cycle ... I do agree that it is unnecessary, because their are people who are already in seriously good shape, and yet do something like this for themselves ... I for one am not in the best shape ever ... Far from it actually sweatdrop ... So something like this is needed to beat what most of my family suffer from ... And me working so hard has inspired my mom, and my brother to do the same ... Which makes me happy, because I'm helping someone else do the same ...
