. . . . . . . A barren waste land. Only ghost of what the island once was shows that the island was once home to people. Burned down and destroyed homes speckle the land. Forests are made up of the skeletons of trees, branches leafless, the bark pealed away long ago, leaving dead gray wood showing. Lakes either dried up, or filled with gray, foggy, undrinkable water. The air is still and silent here. But the most noticeable change the island has gone through is a large, seemingly bottomless, rift has now opened up through the middle of the island for no apparent reason. Despite the many times adventures have tried to explore the rift, no one has been able to reach the bottom of it, or learn anything about it. Overall the island looks dead and lifeless.
IMPORTANT: When here, no Elemental can connect to their rightful element, no matter how powerful they are. This island makes all Elementals feel uncomfortable, and if they are here for long periods of time, they will eventually start getting headaches that will get worse over time until they leave the island.
. . . . . . .

Adele calmly walked towards the edge of the tunnel. She let out a breath of air and stepped outside the tunnel, letting the fresh air hit her. She looked up the cliff side and spotted a decent size rock protruding from the cliff side. She closed her eyes and softly murmured some words under her breath. She could feel the magic swell up in her in flashes of hot, cold, then hot again, she could feel the heat coming off her tattoo and could imagine it softly glowing like it always has when she used magic. When she opened her eyes again she was standing on the rock she was looking at moments before. She looked around again and found another rock to teleport herself to and repeated the process. A few moments later she was standing at the edge of the rift, looking down where she knew that even though she could no longer see them, miles below was the tunnels that the Verden used every day. She turned away from the rift and looked at the wasteland that was Kainat. What used to be an island lush with vibrant colors and life was now gray and lifeless. Though where others found the many shades of gray eery, she found it comforting. If everything was the same vibrant colors they were before, it would seem like everyone would still be alive and all she would have to do is take the same familiar path to the village and she would find her family there waiting for her only to be disappointed when she remembered that they were dead. At least the gray didn't offer false hope, it showed the bare truth, no matter how brutal the truth was. Adele could feel the depression slipping over her and she started to walk around without thinking. She just let her feet guide her to wherever they were taking her, and if that happened to be over the edge of the rift, then so be it. Though apparently her feet had other plans because she found herself overlooking the beach, where even the sand somehow took on a grayish-brown shade. She found a spot to sit down at and just watched the blue waves, the only vibrant color that could be found on the island, wash up onto the shore and then get pulled back out to the blue mass of water before her.

Kirian Slithos -Undead, soldier and master martial artist of Verdant.-
Kirian was outiside watching the rift too. He actualy liked this gray island. The grim grayness and the brutality of this void raped land reflected much of how Kirian saw himself. Dead, but still existing, as if defying something. He didn't know much of what happened in here, but what he have heard from Adele and others, this place used to be something like a sanctuary to non-elementals. And full of life. But then just a group of elementals slaughtered everyone, and void caused by the sorrow of the one who lost everything ripped this land from elements. Kirian found irony from that.
Undead turns his head towards the direction he came from, but has to adjust his hood to cover his face better from sun. This was second reason he liked this island. Main activity was in tunnels, far from the beams of sun. As he sat down next to large rock, that offered some shade from sun, he noticed Adele telporting near to him, seemingly on her own thoughts. She was far in her thoughts that she didn't even notice him. Not much of surprise there, as he didn't breath or let out any noise while being still. Kirian watched her, and she really looked like she was part of the this land. So cold, so distant. Far from the colorful life one could see in everwhere else. When she finaly sat down, Kirian stood up from the shades. "Thinking of new battle plan, Ade?" He asked. He rarely bothered to refer anyone with they're rank or title. Not unless it was actualy important for him to do so. And he rarely saw it was.

Adele looked up when she heard Kirian address her. There were not many people who would speak to her so informally, even less would call her by a nickname, but Kirian was far from normal, and she respected him for that. It was nice to have someone see her as a person, not just their leader. "Hard to come up with a plan when we don't have enough people to carry out it Kir." She turned her gaze back out to the beach in front of her. "For now we just need to prepare while the Elementals get comfortable with their make-believe peace. Though I will admit, I did not expect to see you out here, you don't usually like the sun. What brings you out in the open?"

Kirian Slithos -Undead, soldier and master martial artist of Verdant.-
Kirian nodded. It was impossible to have resistance when you did not have enough people to carry out it. He, more than anyone knew that. What he really hoped that this didn't end like similar attempt so many years ago. "Oh, I don't dislike the sun. Its the otherway around." Kirian said while he once again covered his face better with his scarf and hood. The undead stays silent a while beofre continuing. "This place is like a mirror to me. I often come here to remind myself that I am only ruins from the past." His tone had mixed sadness and self irony in it. "Also its usualy more silent up in here." He added, with slightly more jokeful tone. Not that he minded too much of the noise that people who were sparring or training underground made, but there were times when he too needed some silence. "Aparently you had somthing similar on your mind too?"((OOC: Many have had some problems with accounts lately. Hopefully you get it fixed. Also I feel like I have given this character far more flaws than pros.. His really flawed man ;D ))

Adele smirked, "Silent it is. You are the only thing dead here that will make noise." she said lightly, "Though I would not say that you are ruins from your past, if you were you would still be in that mausoleum. You are an opportunity, not ruins, an opportunity to fix any mistakes from your previous lifetime." She stayed quiet for a few moments before her tone quickly became serious, "To me this place is the ugly truth." Her gaze became hard as she stared out at the water in front of her, anger and hatred radiating off of her. "Death is an unavoidable fate, you know that better than anyone, and the Elementals only bring on that fate to others. The Elementals hide from this ugly truth. Instead of owning up to their actions, they only declare this island unlivable and abandon it while they claim to be acting for the better of the people." She shook her head, "Some people hate the Verden and blame us 'rebels' for their problems, but at least we don't act righteous."
{{ Thanks. And there is nothing wrong with a flawed undead man. [x }}

Kirian Slithos -Undead, soldier and master martial artist of Verdant.-
"Heh, you should see some of my kin. If you did, you would apreciate the noise I make much more." He said back with a slight smirk too. Kirian refered mainly to skeletons and zombies that perhaps could make noise, but it was far from the talk. To lower level undead, so to speak. "And you know, builiding up something from these ruins is the only reason I bother to live.. eh, unlive.. You know what I mean." He didn't fully joke about that. For past five years he have bondered his options between lving like this, and hoping that he could perhaps achieve something. Or just end his life, and return to his rest. In the end he decided that this was new change to do something he couldn't do last time. When she fell silent, he too watched again the gruesome wastland silently, before she talked again. She too hated the elementals with san kind of burning rage, that Kirian felt too. That was one of the reasons he decided to stay with these rebels. "Oh, I know. Elementals took everything from me, and only after they offered to let me keep that everything. When they killed me on my own house, they didn't even sent anyone to clean my or.. my wife's corpse away." He looked elsewhere. That part of his past he wanted to forget. He could still remember the fight against the assasins, his clouded vision from the poison from the dagger they used and his last vision of his wife's face, lying on floor.. "Heh, I guess that the elementals that did this to village in here, didn't even get any proper punishment from what they did?" He asked. As far as he have seen, every high position was in hands of the elementals. ((OOC: ))

Adele recognized the look on Kirian's face, the one that showed nothing but pain and sorrow, the wishing to forget ones past. It was the same look she saw on her reflection almost everyday. Adele stood up and walked over to Kirian until she stood in front of him, making him look at her, "Do not turn away from that pain. Remember that moment when you knew that all was lost. Remember that feeling of absolute helplessness, knowing that you cannot do anything to stop them from taking away everything you love. Embrace your pain and sorrow and let it become your strength, you would be surprised about what can come from sorrow." She walked away from Kirian and faced the wasteland in front of her, her arms folded across her chest. "The Lord knows I face that pain every moment I am on this island. I not only see this island as what it is now, I also see what it once was, and the people who thrived off of what it had to offer." She looked back at Kirian from over her shoulder, "To answer your question, no, they never got a proper punishment. The Lord stripped them of their elemental abilities, some nations saw that as punishment enough, others went into hiding before their nation could do anything about it. Either way, none of them are imprisoned. They can still live with their loved ones, even though they stripped me of mine."

Kirian Slithos -Undead, soldier and master martial artist of Verdant.-
Kirian looked a bit surprised when Adele lectured him for not embracing his past, and trying to get strength for it. More so since only few had the courage to do so. He didn't have much of rank in the resistance, as he didn't see it necesary, but he have been arround long enough and since he taught many recruits, he was respected atleast. And he was undead, even if not all knew that, but it gave a unsetling aura to many. Then Kirian smiles slightly. Adele was on her own category when it came to that, and more people feared her than him. Also Kirian could see the wisdom in her words wisdom gained pain far similar to his own. He was not going to let that pain from the past go to waste. "Lesson learned, sir" He said, giving a lazy gesture that could have been recongnized as salute. After Adele told how easily the elementals got from slaughtering countles people, he just shook his head. "Yeah, take away murderers weapon. Like that is something I would call punishment." He muttered. "But we will get our chance. I bet my existance for it." He spoke to himself as much as he spoke to Adele. "So, our fearless leafer. Is there somthing you want me to carry out. I am getting rather bored on punching wisdom on our recruits thick skulls." ((OOC: ))

Adele didn't smile at the lazy salute, those stopped phasing long ago. She turned towards Kirian, "You can go out and gather more Non-Elementals to join our cause. We really need some better soldiers for you to punch some wisdom into. Right not it would be foolish to go up against the Elementals when they have the greater numbers." Adele smirked, "I doubt you will be bored when you can run freely wherever you want. Though do try not to cause any trouble, we don't want the Elementals to know of our existence just yet."

Kirian nods. They really were in some dire need of troops. "Understood. And you know, I may be reckless, but I am not stupid enough to pick a fights that I can't win. So try not to worry." He says and turns to take his leave. "Was nice chatting you after a long time, Ade." He says before he jumped down the cliff. The fall would perhaps been fatal for normal beings, but he strengthened his feet, so they wouldn't break and slowed his fall with few ukemis. Then started runing towards next cliff. He advanced like this untill he was on edge of the tunel. Kirian planned to take next possible ride that left to mainland. Most likely that would be leaving to Aria. Well that was good place to start as any.~ Moving to Levago.~ ((OOC: Not sure how the transportation goes, but I guess its a small ship leaving from underground section of the island. ))

Adele dismissed Kirian with a simple wave of her hand. She knew that she wouldn't have to worry about him. "My pleasure." She muttered as he ran off towards his new mission. While he was out gathering new members for the Verden, she would stay on the island a little longer. She had things to settle things here before she left Kainat. Last time she left for an extended period of time, the Verden were in shambles by the time she got back. She would not make the same mistake again, everything would be organized and prepared, so her troops could still function without her. Though she did not feel the need to return to the tunnels yet. Her talk with Kirian brought back memories, and she let herself wander as she let her memories run their course through her mind. Once her thoughts were settled once again, she would return to the tunnels, but for now it was nice to just walk along the coast of the island.

Ѻ◦◦◦∞Ashelia DeLacroix∞◦◦◦Ѻ ѪӁ The Bleeding Heart Banshee ӁѪ Ashelia finally made it back from previous errands. She had been Aria in secret and was gathering information for Verden but mostly for her. Ash was mostly tracking Stryx's movements, but when he was put on leave...she cut her mission short. There she saw the General wondering on the coast. She sighed with some relief. Adele being one of few that she trust and liked, the girl ran to her commanding officer. "General Adele, I apologize for the late return. What's the situation?" Ash wondered if anything new have risen in her absence.

Adele turned, as her second Lieutenant approached her. Ashelia was always very loyal to the Verden, but often went off on her own missions. Though Adele could tell that the woman had unfinished business to attend to, so she always let her go off to Aria without question. "There really isn't anything new to report. We are just on standby for the moment as some of our soldiers are out bringing in new some recruits. You are free to join them if you wish." After a moments pause, she added, "So how was Aria?"

Ѻ◦◦◦∞Ashelia DeLacroix∞◦◦◦Ѻ ѪӁ The Bleeding Heart Banshee ӁѪ Ash frowned when she was told nothing new had happened. She wasn't all to surprised however. When Adele mentioned finding more recruits she agreed with a nod. "I will shortly, I just need to restock and re-equip myself then I can head out." Ash's voice was confident and strong but when Adele ask how things were in Aria, her stature change. "Not as successful as I would have liked. I found it's hard to track a Werewolf that is one of Aria's best tracker without being spotted...That ******** mutt...I'm sorry Ma'am. I let my feelings get the best of me." Ashelia straightened herself quickly. She did managed to get some info while out on her mission however. "I did manage to get some information that might be interesting. There's an expedition that is said to take off soon and they will be coming here to Kainat. It's possible that elementals will be with them."Ash didn't know the details but she knew if elementals and Lycanthropes showed up on the island, it would be easy prey.
