Walking cautiously through the woods, Ancolie moved her wings slowly with each step. She was a naturally cautious creature, so her ears were erect and swiveling almost every moment. Her blue eyes were a little large, and she looked around cautiously. It was the middle of the day, but one could barely tell because of all the trees that towered over her. Little streams of light came through, and it was quite the sight to see. Being the way she was, though, she tended to avoid them, just in case.
Seeing her, one would think that she'd never had any contact with another herla before; and, that would be pretty true. Ancolie tended to stay cooped up in high places, as her wings really helped her get up and away from everything. She was always so content to just stay by herself, but she still needed to come down for food. Deeming it safe enough to proceed, she lowered her head to the ground, snapping up a small plant she had been eyeing.

 Unaware that her resting place was close to where Ancolie was grazing, Azuza yawned from her midday nap in the shady patch hidden quite well by the bushes. Getting to her hooves, she shook herself out and sniffed the air. By the stars, I've let my guard down. Sloppy. She thought when she caught the other Herla's scent. Scanning the forest from where she was partially hidden, now that she was standing, she almost didn't see Ancolie due to the green pelt of the hind.
After weighing her options, Azuza slowly pushed through the bushes and stepped into one of the shafts of sunlight. "Pardon me; I was unaware that my resting place was close to you. If you'll excuse me, I'll be on my way." Dipping her head, she turned around and paused, looking for the trail that would lead her to her favorite grazing patch.

Feeling quite content, Ancolie was becoming a bit lost in the peace and quiet before she heard the other's presence. She shuddered a bit, freezing up and keeping her head low to the ground as she looked around.
The blueish hind that stood before seemed to be quite different from herself. It seemed larger, able to definitely withstand more than Ancolie could. It was startling, at first, but her words seemed non-threatening enough. Still, Ancolie couldn't help but be on edge, mostly because she hadn't noticed her there at all.
"It's..." Heart pounding, Ancolie's voice was soft, and seemed very fragile. But she was at least trying to reach out, if only a bit. "It's alright, it was me who intruded on you. I shouldn't be the one to stay and push you out."

"It's nothing, truly. I was on my way anyway; it matters not if you stay or go. I don't care either way." Azuza replied bluntly, turning around to get a better look at the hind. Small thing... no wonder it sounds spooked. Bending her neck and lowering her head, she lifted a rear hoof and scratched at a spot at the base of her ear. "If introductions will help you any, I'm Azuza."
She was bored, hungry, slightly irritable, and starting to grow impatient. Not a very good combination for her after just waking up. "Happy grazing." She muttered, putting her hoof back down and picking a trail, intent upon quelling the incessant rumblings of her stomach.
