How do you seek comfort in your religion? For example, are there particular rituals for grief or seeking comfort, or people whose role is to counsel, or do you just reach out to your deities.... or what? Share.

Hmm, I'm not sure if it's what you'd call "seeking comfort" exactly, but one of the common problems which seems to come up in my life is having to work with someone whose presence arises feelings of frustration, anger, or sadness in me. In those times I do tonglen for them, which is a Buddhist visualization meditation where one "breathes in" the person's hate and suffering, and "breathes out" good feelings for them. It really helps me, and the person is usually easier for me to deal with afterwards.
What about you, Thorns and Spices?
