Byakuren sat in her study, staring at her table. There must be a way to help people make friends with each other. She has seen how bitter Sylpheed was, and she really disliked it. She thought of any way that could help. Had to be fun and had to make people get to know others... She gasped and slammed her fist on the table. "I've got it!" She yelled inside her temple. She quickly ran over to her cupboards and pulled out a large stack of papers, dropping them on her desk. She then began to write on each one, at high speeds too, so she was done in about five minutes or less. She then bolted out of her study and out of her temple, flying down the stairs, literally, and releasing papers over the human village, and any other place that was home to living creatures.

The paper read "The Great Scavenger Hunt. Come, one and all. Youkai Or Human, it doesn't matter. It only matters if you don't attend.

Come and meet new people and get to know those around you better. The winners will receive one of three prizes depending.

Myouren Temple, tomorrow at 12:00pm. Please bring anyone you know who isn't already coming."

---Time skip---

Byakuren waited outside her temple eagerly. She had been there for several hours. Selkie was standing behind her. She was attending it.

((You're allowed to post before the time skip to show how they found it and/or what they were doing prior to finding it, or you could just post after the time skip.

And anyone's welcome ^w^))

((Entering with RAYMOO for now~ =w=))

What was with all this litter? A 'Great Scavenger Hunt'? What sort of nonsense...

...

Oh. Myouren Temple. Of course: Hijiri; I should have known.

Reimu made her way to the Myouren Temple at noon, as the flyer instructed, intent on finding out what was really behind this ruse. Was it a plan to recruit more members to her religion? Great, that'd mean even less donation for her shrine... not that she received any now, anyway. But more importantly, if many Youkai decided to gather here, with a competitive nature in mind, who knows what would happen?

As the Shrine Maiden walked up the steps to the Temple, she was met eagerly (as usual) by a cheerful Byakuren and some other rabbit she'd never seen before. With the casualty of clocking in for monday's work, Reimu held up the flyer in front of the taller woman, her eyes and tone half-interested. "Incident...right? What are you planning now, Hijiri?"

Byakuren smiled as she saw Reimu coming up to her temple, with a face that she wore quite alot. Before she could welcome Reimu to the temple, Reimu held the paper in front of her. Reimu asked her what she was planning. "Planning...?" She asked, tilting her head to the side. "This was an idea I had to help the citizens of Gensokyo get to know each other more, and have fun doing it." She said, straightening her head and nodding. Selkie nodding behind her; Byakuren having told her already, since she lived there.

"Get to know each other??" Reimu crossed her arms, raising an eyebrow. "I think you overestimate the character of Man and Mer. What makes you think both parties want to become better acquainted? There are still those Youkai who hunt Humans for food, and there still exist Humans who combat Youkai... despite the formal restrictions of the Spell Card System, I don't think the gap can be bridged by a simple scavenger hunt."
She sighed, resting her hands at her hips. "Not that I don't commend your efforts, don't get me wrong; it's just that I don't think it'll work out like you planned. Trust me, I'd love nothing more than to cease all the petty squabbles, but that's just not realistic!"

Reimu peaked around Byakuren's waist, at the rabbit beside her. The sight elicited another sigh from the Shrine Maiden. "Don't tell me Eintei is involved, too?

Byakuren had hoped the Hakurei shrine maiden wouldn't ask these questions, but what else could she have expected. "Well, I must do what I must to try and help against the tension between the races. Even if it's just a scavenger hunt, it still may help them get along better." Byakuren told Reimu. She then crossed her arms and tilted her head to the side. "Are you here for the scavenger hunt yourself, Reimu? Are you interested in making friends, or what the prizes are?" She asked with a smile.

When Reimu asked about the rabbit and if she was from Eintei, Byakuren was about to answer when Selkie did. "No, I live here with Byakuren. I am however from the moon." She told Reimu, peeking around Byakuren to do so.

"Prizes?" Reimu asked, her interest renewed. "Just what sort of prizes are we talking about here..."

~ ~ ~

"...Come and meet new people and get to know those around you better..."

Nozomi stared long and hard at the paper in her hands. This was almost too good to be true! This was only her second trip to the human village since leaving her mentor's home, and already there was an event being held that could help her become better acquainted with the people that live here.
It was true that living with the magician had been a bit lonely at times, having devoting her waking hours to her studies as well as being the magician's aide. But it had been worth it. She now possessed a power few other Fairies could lay claim to! Even in the wake of her mentor's disappearance, the memories of all the progress she had made with the magician was enough to keep her spirits high.

The Fairy followed the directions on the flier, having to stop to ask for directions only once. Soon she was climbing the Myouren Temple steps, not far behind a certain shrine maiden...

~ ~ ~

"...are we talking about here? Don't tell me the pure Byakuren is resorting to greed to try to bring Humans and Youkai together? Hahaha~" Reimu's laugh was not meant to outright mock Hijiri, but merely to ruffle her feathers a bit.

"Excuse me, ma'am? This is the correct time for the, um... 'The Great Scavenger Hunt', yes? Or am I too early?" Nozomi, a small girl in a blue, corseted dress spoke up from behind Reimu, peaking around the shrine maiden's shoulder. Reimu turned, eying the strange girl with curiosity. "Sorry, I'm not the one in charge. You should ask her," she pointed a thumb over her shoulder, "She's the one runnin' this place."

"Oh! Thank you." Nozomi bowed her head to Reimu quickly, then just as quickly approached Byakuren. "Hi! Um, hello there. My Name is Nozomi Seijitsu. I found this flyer, and...well, I would like to attend, if I am allowed!" She bowed again, this time to Hijiri, holding the flyer out to her.

Byakuren shook her head and placed her fists on her hips. "Don't be silly, Reimu! I wouldn't use greed to force people together. Or I'd at least do it incredibly subtly and as a last resort..." Byakuren told the shrine maiden. She whispered the last part very quietly, and even turned her head away from Reimu as she did it. She then clapped her hands together and smiled. "Well, even though everyone's a winner in this scavenger hunt, those who finish it first, in their placing of third to first, will receive a prize!" She gave a wink to Reimu as she continued. "And, of crouse, I can't tell them now. That would ruin the surprise." She gave a small laugh after she had finished.

A fairy had come to the Scavenger hunt. How exciting! Three people already! "Oh, you're here for the scavenger hunt as well? It's nice to meet you, Nozomi Seijitsu." Byakuren said with a smile. "I am Byakuren Hijiri, the monk who owns the Myouren Temple." She said to Nozomi. "Everyone and anyone is allowed to join, Ms.Seijitsu! And you're not too early, dear." She told Nozomi with yet another warm smile.

"Everyone?" Nozomi asked, fiddling with the corset around her waist. "Even Youkai, right?" The corset moved on its own, unfurling into a pair of luminescent wings, much to Reimu's surprise. "--?! A Fairy?"

"Is there something wrong with that, Ma'am?" Nozomi retorted, putting her hands on her hips. Reimu turned her head in response. "As long as you don't cause any trouble. And my name is Reimu - Reimu Hakurei." Nozomi gently pushed off the ground, ascending into the air by the power of her newly-revealed wings. They beat quickly and soundlessly, save for a slight hum that accompanied their glow. "Pleased to meet you, Reimu." She turned back to Byakuren. Even though her dress was loose now and no longer being supported by her wings, it was obvious that she had a very generous figure, particularly in that she was quite busty for her size. Noticing this, Reimu put a hand to her own chest, looking quite annoyed - they may even be bigger than hers..!

"When I heard about this event, I knew instantly that I wanted to become a part of it! I... I've been away for a long time, so I've grown unaccustomed to people. I want to make friends and learn about people, and this seems to be the best way to do it!" Nozomi bowed once again to Byakuren. "If there's any way I can help, please let me know!"

Byakuren smiled as Nozomi asked if anyone to could. "Anyone can join. It doesn't matter what you are." She told Nozomi with a nod. She watch Reimu and Nozomi talk, and how Reimu gave her usual sort of response. Byakuren gave a small laugh as Reimu put a hand to her chest.

A smiled grew on Byakuren's face as Nozomi told her why she wanted to join the event. "That's excellent to hear! I know that you will find people who will want to be your friends, no doubt about it." Byakuren said. She then shook her head as Nozomi asked if there was anyway she could help. "Oh no, it's quite alright. I have everything under control already." She said with a nod.

Selkie hopped out from around Byakuren and looked at Nozomi before placing a hand on her own chest... Nozomi's were bigger than hers... Selkie sighed, but quickly shook her head and cleared her mind. "Oh, nice to meet you, Nozomi. I am Selkie Inaba." She said to Nozomi with a smile.

~~~~~
In her cave home, Yume sat, hands folded nicely in her lap as she stared down at a flier that had flown into her cave. "Maruno had said that I should meet others..." Yume said as she looked over the paper. "I guess this is as good a start as any..." And with that, she made her way out of the cave. It was a long walk to the temple, but she had enough time. She opened her parasol and made her way to the temple.
~~~~~

Yume stared at the steps in front of her and after a few seconds began to make her way up them. 'I'm doing this for you, Maruno.' Yume thought to herself as she walked up the steps to the temple. Once at the top, she saw four human looking people standing in front of the temple talking. She began to make her way over to them, but didn't say anything as she approached them.

"Ah! Thank you very much, Ma'am!" Nozomi replied happily, before turning to look at the other two about her. "Huh? ...Why do you both look depressed?" Catching herself, Reimu blushed, though she quickly turned that energy into a false anger.
"W...Whatever! I'm outta here. See you la--" the Shrine Maiden turned, bumping into Yume. "Wah! What the hell! What's it with you Youkai today!" Was Byakuren's plan actually working? This embarrassed Reimu to no end, especially having just gotten through lecturing the monk about how her plan wouldn't work. Her face was twisted with a mix of both confusion and embarrassment, Reimu simply moved to sit on the ground near the top of the stairs. "Grr...now that people really are showin' up, I'm gonna have to stay here and make sure nothing goes wrong." Of course, the possibility of winning a prize was completely besides the point...

Nozomi tilted her head to the side, curious of the strange shrine maiden's actions as well as of the newcomer. However, she had already been properly engaged by another, and as such, the Fairy turned towards Selkie, clasping her hands together and bowing again. "Hello, Selkie! My name's Nozomi - although I'm sure you just heard that a moment ago. Pleased to meet you! And...um, don't be sad, okay? If we both work hard, then I'm sure something good will happen!" Her wings fluttered a bit, showing off her enthusiasm.

Yume gave a small gasp as the shrine maiden of paradise bumped into her. The shrine maiden seemed angered by something, giving Yume a concerned look.

Byakuren saw Yume come up from behind Reimu. She stepped down from the level on her temple and walked up to Yume. "Hello, miss." She said to Yume. She could tell by the umbrella that this girl was most likely a vampire. "Are you here for the scavenger hunt?" She asked her.

Yume nodded her head. "...Yes, I am..." She told Byakuren.

Byakuren clapped her hands together and smiled. "Wonderful! Wonderful!" She said. Byakuren looked behind Yume to Reimu and said, "Now, now. You don't need to stay if you don't wish to, everything will be under control here." She assured Reimu.

Selkie, too, caught herself and blushed like Reimu did. "I-I-I Don't know what you mean..." Selkie said awkwardly. Nozomi seemed really friendly, so Selkie didn't really have to have any worries about her. "O-oh, don't worry about me, I'm fine." Selkie assured Nozomi. She then nodded at Nozomi and said, "Yes! Lets do out very best!" She held a fist in front of her, clenched, so she seemed motivated in some way.
