Naja
. . . . . . .
Naja is a small city that is located right on the border of Vatra and Mesa. Those that wish to travel through the Zemir Plains to the north east, will pass through here for supplies first.
Because Naja is surrounded by mountains and a lake, it tends to be more isolated from the world, and because of that these people may be very unaffected by political affairs. This tends to create an atmosphere of neutrality, and acceptance among anyone. In fact, being so close to the Vatra border, you can find both Fire and Water elementals living together.

After what felt like days of walking, hiding, and scavenging for whatever food she could find, Fern finally found the small city of Naja. 'Sweet salvation!' At the sight, she quickened her already slow pace. She wasn't exactly eager to meet the new people residing in this town, she was used to being alone and enjoyed the solitude her trip had brought her. It was simply the dirty way of living she had been partaking in for the past few days that she wanted to escape from. In fact the idea of meeting water elementals seemed strange to her. She had never left Vatra, even if here was so close to the border it was like she had never left at all. 'This is a big step. After so many years you're breaking tradition.' She took a deep breath in and out. It all smelled and felt the same as every other home she'd occupied over the last who knows how long. 'Okay, so you gotta find a hotel or something. You need a bath. A nice, long bath.' As she entered the outskirts of the city, she began scanning for a place to stay. It was going to be a little hard sense she had no money or anything to barter with, but she could manage.
After searching for a little while and observing the people here, she found a small inn, still near the edge of the city. She did what she could to make herself look dirty and homeless, which wasn't hard after the trip she just made, and began to shuffle over to a man who was outside sweeping the steps. "E-excuse me sir?' She squeaked out and began coughing. The man turned to look at her, and after taking in her appearance, stopped what he was doing and leaned the broom up against the side of the building. "Hello? Are you hurt? Where are your parents?" He began into the typical adult questions she always got when feigning tragedy. So instead of responding, she let her good eye flutter and slumped over against the wall of the building as if heat and exhaustion had gotten the better of her. The man moved from his post and grabbed hold of her, insistent that she get some rest and medical attention. Something about letting her stay for the night came up and the moment that happened, she let a little life seep back into her eyes. "Thank you, sir." She kept up the act, as he continued to fuss about her eye 'injury' and and her apparent heat exhaustion, until she was safely away in her room. Once there the first thing she did was soak in the bath for a couple hours, then climbed into bed for the night.

Fern woke up early in the morning, having gone to bed sometime in the afternoon. She stared up at the ceiling wondering what exactly she should do next. She was out of supplies. Out of money. And her map was long gone. 'This journey was a stupid idea to begin with. I should have just stayed home and continued living my life how I have been.' She sighed and rolled up out of bed. It didn't matter what predicament she was in now, she just had to keep moving to the next city like she'd done many times before. It was just a little different now that she had to start almost completely over. She took the sheet off the bed and ripped it to fashion herself a bag. After that she left the room by slipping out the window and making her way though the town. Thankfully it was early enough that no one was out and about, which made her job easier. Quickly and quietly, she walked around, finding various things people and left out, not thinking it would be stolen. Funny how small towns were like that. It didn't take very long before she had acquired all the essentials for her trip. As nice as this little place was, after robbing quite a few people, she knew it was time to leave. 'I guess I can get on a boat from here and take the river wherever the ships going. Maybe I'll even make it back to Feu.' That would be nice. She had lots of connections there already.
As the sun was beginning to come up, she found the dock and slipped on board a ship that looked like it was being readied to leave. After finding a nice nook under the main deck, she curled up and prepared herself for the ride.
