Ahhh yes, another wonderful piece of asian horror. This film is from Thailand and well worth the watch. The best way to describe this film is that it's a movie about a movie, hence the title "Coming Soon" since movie advertisements usually say "coming soon". Catchy huh? The thing is about this movie is that the movie that the characters are watching in theater is haunted. It has the same type of plot idea that "Ringu"/"The Ring" has where anyone who watches it ends up dieing, only this film focuses more on the staff members at the theater as well as the feeling of "deja vu". You'd have to watch the movie to know what I'm talking about.

The flim starts out showing footage from the movie the characters are watching in the theater. I had no idea what to expect from this film, but it definitely has plenty of "jump out of your seat" moments, which unfortunately happens quite a bit to the point where you don't have a lot of moments to relax and focus on the film. Minor minor set back. Acting on the character Shane, is a bit flat, but forgiveable. Those things aside, they did very well on sound and timing of creepy sounds with the jumping scenes. The special affects and overall creepiness and atmosphere is fantastic, what you can expect from your typical asian horror flick. Loved it. Story is pretty interesting too.

Definitely worth a watch and most of all a purchase. So go check it out.

On a letter rating from A-F I give this movie a B.

I'm almost tempted to wait until they make a Hollywood adaptation of it, haha.

In some cases I would tend to agree with you. The english version of the Ringu (The Ring) and Ju-on (Grudge) were fantastic in comparision to the original Japanese. Sequels sucked a** for both of them and turns out the Japanese sequels were a hell of a lot better, but nonetheless, few examples where I feel the Americans did it better.

BUT...in this case I seriously doubt they could make something better. That's how good I believe this Thai film is. Give it a rent....or a download...and check it out.

Honestly, I didn't like The Grudge very much at all, for some reason. It just didn't grip me the way The Ring did. Even Dark Water, I thought was scarier.

But all right, I'll check Coming Soon out in October, most likely.
