"Oh. . .I shouldn't be out at this hour. This hour isn't safe. Not safe at all. . . ."
Mumbling to herself as she cautiously roamed through grassy plains during the afternoon, the sun was high in the sky. This wasn't right at all. "But I cannot just wait until it's dark to look for it, that's way too long of a wait! Someone else could of taken it by now. . .oh no", Nayyara's ears lower at the thought of someone finding one of her stars. You see Nayyara was enjoying a beautiful moonlight walk with mother earth the night before, until sunrise did she notice back at the old observatory. Not heading to bed she took the risk of been seen to retrace her steps.
Whenever she heard others approaching she would do her best to avoid them. Being out during the day was stepping into a whole new world. Though it did make Nayyara curious, she rarely gets to see mother earth during the day & see how vividly colorful she was compared to the caressing moonlight on everything. Shaking her head slightly, she knew she needs to focus on the task at hand. Nayyara was starting to lose hope in find her missing star. Out of frustration she stomps on a few flowers but apologizes to mother earth lowly as they were pretty.
"Oh little star. . .don't hide from me. I want to be able to return home with you. . ."

It was impossible and yet plausible. Brilliant and cooky. Whimsical and mysterious. A star...a real star had fallen and was sitting just a few feet in font of his canvas. A star that...well looked exactly like the representation of a star he had always used. Now it might be silly, but Vincent had always imagined that they would be...different. More serious somehow. Like an odd misshapen piece of rock. No. No this was a true star shape in a glowing iridescence that just...spoke to him.
Eyes darting between his work and the glowing form before him, Vincent's wings painted a vision of a star in the daylight. Why not...it was the truth after all. Why paint such a rarity in any other form? Of course, with Vincent it was never that simple. Amidst the rocks and trees, his star had left a trail of sparkling dust...only it could only be seen by the artist's eye. He would look to the star and it was gone...but it appeared in his painting. Odd and yet...it was trying to tell him something. He could only hope that he would understand.

Timidly looking around, Nayyara makes her way high & low throughout the surrounding plains. Just trying to find her precious star. She did not wish to return home empty handed, that feeling of disappoint would bother her for the rest of the day. Glancing back at her sak of stars on her side, she smiles faintly knowing at least the rest were secure. She brought her head lower to the ground as the grass was thicker in some parts then others. Must be from others grazing. Eyes darting back & forth as if she was watching an annoying bug flying around. Stopping in her tracks, she huffs in defeat. She didn't want to give up but she's been at this for hours. Retracing your steps is a lot harder then thinking it will be. Closing her eyes she inhales slowly before exhaling & reopening her eyes. That's when she saw it. Mother earth must of heard her prayers. The sun reflected off the star ordainment surface just at the perfect timing. Nayyara's ears perk up as she rose her head. There it was again! Twinkling again.
Nayyara could not have trotted as fast to her precious star. Slowing down as she reached it. From all the sheer excitement of finding her star, she did not notice she wasn't alone. She sighs in content as it was still in good shape. Lowering her head once more, she gently grabs the star within her mouth. Nayyara then froze, she now feels the others presents being there. Turning her head slowly her eyes fell upon four hooves. Her eyes trailing up slowly as saw all of him. Nayyara whimpers softly as she truly was a deer stuck in the headlights.

Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. His eyes tried to capture everything...anything the star could tell him. Back and..."Oh...I.." There was no forth this time. Just...contact. Eye contact. Shimmering eye contact. As if he was staring into the stars themselves. "Don't move...Stay right there...I...I have to paint you. Please."
Hooves moving on their own, he circled her. His long neck moving up and down as he looked at her...truly looked. The stars at her side. The fear of the day. The fear of him. The clouds...wait clouds? Freezing, his eyes met her once more and his mouth literally fell open. The stars...the night...her. It was her. "It's you...The lady its...its you." His voice was light and breathy, as if he'd been holding his breath and hadn't even noticed.
Half stumbling, he scrambled back to his painting. Vincent reaching for his brushes and watercolors, flipped to a new canvas and began to paint frantically. A vision...his vision of her flowing out onto the surface.

Run.
Run.
Run.
Ruuuun.
Nayyara's mind kept repeating things for her to do. However her body was too locked up to even to function. She blinks a few times hearing his comments. Wait. He wanted to paint her? Shifting her weight from her left to right hoof. If she wasn't shy before she was shy now as he circles around her. Nayyara never had someone eye her the way he was eying her. She usually got disgusted looks. But his was different. His was in amazement. Her cheeks were starting to flush.
The lady? He must be confusing me with someone else. Muffles come from her, as what would be words if the star wasn't blocking them from coming out her mouth. She never really had actual conversation with anyone else but herself or mother earth. What would she say to him? He was obviously confused & strange for wanting to paint someone he just met. Especially someone as odd looking as herself. But she let him.
Afterward she would take her leave & by leave she would run.

It was as if there was no end to the truth he saw. To her. She was as endless and timeless as the sky itself, and perhaps that was because she was the sky. His lady...the world's...the universe's...no...his. The lady of the sky. The lady. The sky. She was spilling out over the daylight. Consuming it...no setting it. Like the moon and stars setting upon a brilliant mid afternoon. The sun's flames licking at the start of dusk mid canvas. Swirling spirals of starlight. Sparks falling about to the in between of night and day as clouds billowed from about her delicate and shy...ever so shy face. It was brilliance...and madness and beautiful. It was beautiful.
"You're beautiful..." Only now, he wasn't looking at his work, he was looking at her. Face flushed as he fluttered his wings and nearly fumbled his paint brush. "I...um...do you...my lady do you wish to see it?"

Gently placing her star back it's rightful place in her sak. Bit of slobber was left on it. A soft smile place across her muzzle. Her precious stars. They twinkled from the sunlight as if thanking her for finding their missing comrade. Nayyara was thankful herself, these stars kept her company as well. Sure they couldn't talk back to her but she didn't feel as lonely.
Twitch. Twitch.
Her ears perk up hearing his voice again. Turning her attention to him, she listening to his question. She was curious. She did want to see what he did. lifting one hoof to take a step. But she started hesitate, was this a good idea? She ignored her guardians comments of stop being shy & to go take a look at the artwork. Planting her hoof back down onto the grass, instead Nayyara took a few steps backwards.
"I. . I don't think it's best if I should be going. . .It's not safe at this hour"

Vincent could see her small twitches and it was as if she sent shocks through him each time. He was finally on the same plain as his lady and she was...was afraid of him. Was he too intense? Should he not have painted her? He did tend to get rather intense while painting, but...he had to. Vincent didn't paint to see pretty paintings, he painted to see the truth and what the universe was trying to tell him.
Fumbling over a few words as she retreated backwards, his eyes fell back to the painting and as beautiful as it was...she almost seemed to be burning when the setting mid afternoon met the rising of cool moon. She didn't come out during day....what had she said? This hour was dangerous?
"Oh I...wait. I...if its dangerous...I could...no...well....can I walk you home? I'll bring the canvas. It's yours to keep...to perhaps give your stars something to illuminate?" Vincent tried to take a step forward, but moved back and then tried again. She was so hesitant that it was wearing off on him.

Stopping from moving back any further, she tilts her head while glancing at him. He wanted to walk me home? She truly never came across another like him before in all her years of roaming around. He was different. Normally she would of heard insults or look of disgust from those she bumps into on accident. But he was complimenting her, painted her, he even is calling her 'my lady'. Nayyara never really communicated with anyone nor stood around one for this long neither. Give him a chance, was being echoed into her ears from her guardian. She was nervous about all of this, most importantly showing a stranger a place she calls home. A home no one really knows about & didn't want to give it up if things went south.
He was shuffling side to side. He was nervous too. Looking at him more intently he did look like she could trust him, his features were kind & shown true concern through his eyes about her getting home safe. Nayyara knew she wouldn't know for sure until she took that leap of faith. Taking a few steps towards him, she glances off towards the forest, back to him.
"It's quite a ways. . .are you sure you wish to do what you asked?"

She was saying yes? She was saying YES! Eyes wide, his wings fluttered as he began to try and collect all of his materials. The hart shoving this and that into a little pouch; the brushes falling into a painful mess he would agonize over later. "Just...a few moments...I'm ever so sorry..." Rambling a few apologies, Vincent took a few hesitant steps towards the lady. One hoof in front of the other.
Trying to relax, the hart took a deep breath and threw on a smile. His ears perking as he beamed at her. "Oh...to walk with you would be walking amongst the stars. One would always expect quite a journey for that. Lead the way."

Nayyara couldn't help but giggle t herself while watching him scramble to put his things into his pouch while aplologizing. It was quite interesting, seeing one so excited to walk with another. Hearing his comment about walking among the stars again made her cheeks flush. Proceeding to walk, she wanted to walk a lot faster to get out of the area but she didn't. She took her time so he would be able to keep up.
"It will be a quite a ways, it's this small clearing in the forest. . .are you okay with that long of a walk?"
She glances back to check her sak & all her stars are with her still. They were & she smiled. Continuing to walk she glances downward at her hooves before looking up ahead. Normally Nayyara would speak to mother earth on her walks back home but having another around seen it would be a little silly too. Inhaling the fresh air before releasing it she looks over to him.
"My name is Nayyyara. "

Matching her stride, Vincent wasn't sure if her giggle was a good or bad thing. Of course...it was more than a giggle whether good or bad. It was a gentle evening breeze, a cluster of twinkling stars, or the smirk of the man on the moon. It was as if his mind was exploding with images and signs. Beautiful and breathtaking things that he could paint for a hundred lifetimes...no a thousand lifetimes. Yet...all he wanted was to paint was her. Just her. No embellishments. No dramatic background. No messages. Just her. The truth was rarely so clear and that terrified him.
Swallowing hard, he ruffled his wings and nodded quickly. Almost too quickly. The question didn't matter, the answer would always be the same. "No distance could keep me from walking be your side if only for this once.." Eyes widening, he looked away and cleared his throat. "Aheh...I...hem...I mean that I..well I like long walks." That was a lie. An obvious one really. He only hoped that she might fill the awkward silence with more of her twinkling to relieve his embarrassment as they walked.

Her glance quickly changes to look forward instead of at him. His choice of words about her just made her cheeks flush more then they were already. Nayyara's curiosity about the way he spoke about her rose. She was a stranger to him, yet he spoke about her as if they knew one another in a different lifetime. Her ears twitched slightly as she would pause in her steps to scan the area, she actually stood closer to him. A sigh of relief. It was just a woodland creature scurrying up a tree. Looking at him, she gave an apologetic look before walking again.
"D-Do you have a name?"
She felt rude for not asking before hand. Though she'd hope he'd understand from the current circumstances. It was hard for her to keep her eyes on him with the way he looks at her. Nayyara would try to keep eye contact with him as much as she could but here & there she would look off into the forest they finally entered.

At his lady's alarm, Vincent actually tried to take a "manly" stance next to her, as if to defend. Manly however, did not come to Vincent easily...if anything it looked like he was freezing in an awkward pose...perhaps afraid of the bunny that hopped its way back off the path. Ears lowering a bit in embarrassment, he actually turned a brilliant shade of rose as she asked for his name. How could he have been so rude and forgotten to even introduce himself!? Everything was simply so backwards in his mind. "Vi...Vincent...my name is Vincent my lady...but what is my name when confronted with star-" Cutting himself off, he stumbled and painted his cheeks yet another shade of red. "light...heh..."

Watching his actions made Nayyara smile a bit. He was definitely interesting. Her smile slowly fainted as she didn't want to become too comfortable with him. Especially just meeting him.
"Vincent. . . .I never heard this name before. It suits you."
There it was again. Another compliment. She looks away from him, as if she's trying to hide from him.
"Why do you do such a thing? You don't know me but speak as if we known each other in another lifetime?"
She looks back towards him. Curiosity filled in her eyes. Nayyara looks down at her hooves before looking at him once more. She hoped that didn't come out rude or anything. She already felt bad for forgetting to ask his name already. While walking with him, the rays of the sun were slowly fainting within the forest trees, Nayyara was feeling a bit better knowing it was becoming later in the day. Sure it wasn't evening but it was comforting knowing it wasn't high sun anymore.
