Alexia smiled to herself as she made her way around renaissance Venice. She loved her home town and spent as much time as she could exploring and soaking up the atmosphere. Her Papa had told her to be back by sundown, like he always insisted, and she rarely went against his requests. She was a daddy's girl and always had been. She had an older brother who was much older than her and she was her Papa's angioletto.

The man had followed her for quite some time now without her noticing. He liked watching her gracious moves and he loved the way she wore her hair.
Somehow she had awakened his attention and her pure beauty made the hunger rage up inside of him. He wanted to possess her and take care of her ...
Fortunately she was the daughter of a very good friend of his and he had had the pleasure of meeting her. Stepping out of the shades he walked up to her bowing deeply.
"Good evening, signorina Alexia", he said looking at her trough his crystal clear blue eyes.

She gasped and jumped slightly. She hadn't noticed anybody there and his sudden appearance had shocked her. "Buona sera Signore." She said softly, frowning slightly. She had met this gentleman before, a business associate of her father's. "How do you do?" She asked politely as she wondered why he was speaking to her.

"I am feeling rather good this evening", he said equally as polite. "But to be honest, signorina, I must confess that I feel a little concerned about you. Wandering around this place all alone at such a time of the day. This is not a proper thing to do for a lady of your status. So please allow me to take you home. Your father must be worried sick", his words were gentle but also strict and Alexia could tell that he would not allow any protest.
"I was already on my way to your father's mansion. My carriage is waiting on the lane. When I saw you I had to come here and greet you, signorina".

"I can look after myself Signore and have done for quite a few years." She said raising her eyebrow slightly. "And I wouldn't want to start people gossiping about me being in the company of such a distinguished gentleman without a chaperone."

"Walking around alone will have them gossiping even more, signorina", he said and also raised an eyebrow. "Besides people know who I am they would not dare to gossip", he said with a chuckle. "So please. I am not accepting a no". He pointed his cane into the direction his carriage was standing. "It will be getting dark soon and then this street will teem with ragtag".

"I always walk around on my own though signore. I'm hardly dressed as a lady of society." She said looking down at her grubby dress and cloak which she wore to explore the town. She was rarely recognised as she never dressed like she should. She looked around and noticed he was right about one thing. The sun was starting to set and she knew her Papa would be annoyed if she didn't turn up home in the next half hour. She sighed before nodding. "Very well I shall accept your lift, but only because Papa will be annoyed with me if I don't get home soon, and I don't wish to anger him."

"That's a wise thing to say, signorina", he said softly and he gently touched her shoulderblade to make her walk into the right direction. "I hardly recognized you in these clothes. It's very unusual for a lady of your status to dress like that. You should not deny your heritage", he said as they slowly walked towards his carriage. He talked slowly knowing the fact of him being a vampire had a strange effect on humans.

"I'm not denying my heritage. I just don't like how trapped it makes me feel. I like the freedom that comes with these peasant clothes." She said as she walked towards the carriage. "I have to admit my mama hates me, but she knows she can't tame my free spirit. She has tried many a time and has never succeeded. Papa on the other hand prefers that I'm not some mindless zombie like many of the upperclass ladies."

Lucius laughed a little. "You have a very loose tongue, young lady", he said, "That is kind of refreshing. I am not used to it. As you said most of the young ladies these days are mindless zombies. They would say anything to please a favourer". While they were speaking they got to Lucius' carriage and a servant opened the door for them. The man was unusually pale which was because Lucius had fed on him but to Alexia he probably just looked sick.

"Grazie." She said to the man as she climbed into the carriage. "Is your footman ok? He looks rather pale." She said worriedly before shaking her head as it was none of her business. "That's why I hang around more with guys thank girls. At least they're interesting. And I can practice my sword fighting with them." She said with a grin.

"He's just overcome pneumonia but he is fine now", he said with a gentle smile then he nodded to him to beckon him to close the door when they were sitting.
"Sword fighting, huh? Then I should probably show you some of my tricks. I am very sure you haven't seen them before", he smiled kindly bringing his cane between his legs resting his hands on top of it. The golden curls framed his face. Everyone would know he was a foreigner due to his french accent and his pale skin.

"I know it's not a very lady like hobby, but I enjoy it more than embroidery." She said with a grin. "That sounds fantastic." She said, genuinely looking forward to the prospect of learning more sword moves. "You're not from around here are you?" She asked as she looked at him. She hadn't realised in the short time she had spoken to him before but he had a strange lilt to his accent.

"No indeed I am not. I am a Frenchman", he said in his strange accent and laughed a little. "I am trying my best to hide it though. You are a very clever young lady if you realized. I moved to Venice for business and your father is one of my most favourite business partners". His finger tapped the golden hilt of his cane.

She laughed a little. "You have to say that as he's my Papa." She continued to inspect Lucius' face. He was very handsome, infact he was the most handsome guy she'd ever met, though there was something a little cold in his eyes. "How old are you, if you don't mind me asking?" She said before she could stop herself. "Sorry that is too much of a personal question to ask someone who is an acquaintance."
