Luthias was standing in a shallow creek, and had his face dipped in the water. He shook his head slightly then lifted his face. In his mouth he was holding thin gold chain. The pickings had been slim today and he spent most the day picking at the beach. He had found only two chain necklaces, a few iridescent clam shells and a misshapen pearl.
After cleaning the chains he clutched them between his toes and held the pearl in his mouth. He enjoyed the way it felt on his tongue and pressed it against the roof of his mouth. Luthias felt unsatisfied with his bounty but was far to tired to continue his search so late in the day.
He felt it was going to be one of those nights, where he spent the evening organizing his treasures. And they disparately needed to be organized. Luthias stepped out of the water and shook his body briefly.
