So I had scrap dragon and zenmaines out, could I use scraps effect to destroy zenmaines then with zenmaines effect to detach so he stays then destroy 2 cards with zenmaines and scrap dragons effect?

Yes you can. The card you target doesn't have to be in the graveyard for the other to be destroyed.

If you target a card with Scrap's effect that can't be destroyed by card effects such as Ultimate Axon Kicker the other targeted card will be destroyed even if the other wasn't.

So you can do it and you get one destruction with Scrap and another with Zenmaines in the Endphase.
