The bedroom is your starting point. Cinq will be located on the bed, while Tres will be lying on the floor. The bedroom has a bathroom within it near the bed, which will act as a secondary room.
There's a door with what seems to be a painted red '8' on it, along with a keycard device to the right side. It will not open for you.
And just as you think you're safe, you're gonna notice an even bigger problem. The ventilation shaft on the wall is now making a weird sound. As though it's blowing something in the room. Thinking it's fresh air, you move directly to the vent. But alas, a mechanism goes off right beside the vent. It begins to buzz. And the number on it begins to soar higher.
It's not fresh air. That's a carbon monoxide reader.
Realizing (eventually; or not) that the only exit is locked, you have to make a decision, and a decision NOW. Get out. Or you're going to die. As the numbers of the CO meter rises...
Better get to work.
The bedroom has:
-A chest with a keyhole on the other side of the bed. It will not open unless you find a key. Might be a good idea to open it. -A dresser with a combination lock in the corner of the room, beside the door. There doesn't seem to be a combination nearby. Goes up from 0-39. -Barred down windows on the opposite side of the door-wall, revealing the night sky. You can see you're on the second floor from here. Not getting out that way. -Lamps on both sides of the bed. They are nice lamps. -A letter on the table where the lamp is. It's addressed to 'Cinq and Tres'. The only address seems to be the lone number '0' on it. It might be for the best to open this later. -Comfy chairs. Ahhhh...relaxing! Not the brightest idea to be relaxing now. -Carpets. They look expensive. -A chandelier. Maybe you can swing on it like a monkey, and kick the door open? Hopefully, there's someone who will laugh at that...
The bathroom has:
-A mirror with what looks like two backwards numbers, what looks like a 36, and a 3. Could this be the locker combination for the dresser in the other room? But...don't most combinations have three numbers? -The toilet. Maybe you can crawl through sewage to get out. Still hoping on a partner, huh? Oh well. Nothing to see here. -The toilet paper holder. There seems to be something in the hole of the paper roll. Maybe you should check it out? -A shower. You don't necessarily smell. Sides, even turning faucets isn't doing anything. No water. -The ceiling lights. Bright.

Darkness and nothing but. That's what could be seen. A brightless world, sedated into the silence of slumber; a slumber where light could not tread; nor did shadows move around like citizens in a puppets play. This was a darkness that was absolute. A void; an abyss.
And so when time came around, two eyes poked out through the darkness of the barren abyss. Red in color, but bright. Moving one way to another, those same eyes looked to two hands. Then to two feet. A body began to form, floating on into the endless void. Arms, feet, a mouth, a nose, ears, hair. The full body of a blackette slowly moved into view. Looking around more, the body began to drift further...
And further it went, until the body's appearance was mirrored by another forming. And another. And another. Almost without warning, all these bodies formed around him in a flash, showing their faces. All of them were the same. They were the same face as the original body. The same body entirely, if only differentiated by the color of the eyes. Everyone else had fully black, soulless eyes.
Moving closer, those same bodies drifted closer to the original. Closer and closer still. They moved towards it, their hands outstretched like zombies. And one by one, they clasped their hands around its body in random places.
And slowly, the latters mutilated the former. Not a shred was left....just nothingness.
•·.·´¯`·.·• •·.·´¯`·.·•´•·.·´¯`·.·• •·.·´¯`·.·•´•·.·´¯`·.·• •·.·´¯`·.·•´
The first thing audible was escalated breathing, followed by the sheer volume of one beating heart. Coughing came directly from the floor, which sprung out through a body. One that looked similar to the one from before. It clinched up tightly to itself, and began coughing even more.
From the sound of the voice, it was masculine, coming from a man in his early twenties. He wore a jacket with a trim around the top, a pair of ripped jeans on one of the knees, and of course shoes. There was an object upon his wrist, but that wasn't important at the moment.
His eyes shot open, looking nearly bloodshot. No wait, that was the crimson color they were already. There was something that seemed off. The pale man continued coughing. Something about this...air? No, it seemed fine. So, what was it?
Moving his body up, he pulled himself into an idle stance. The man's black hair covered his forehead, and with blurry vision, he began looking around the room quietly. Examining his surroundings, he tried to find a way for light to enter the room. His hands moved in front of him...something there...some form of light in this dark area...something that would light the world that laid in this...
Half of it was an impulse due to that nightmare...
Finally reaching a lamp, he attempted to find a turn-on button, to no avail. Scratching his head quietly, he continued to look around, his red eyes piercing the dark.
Suddenly, the lights did his job for him. Along with a noise from the ventilation shaft close-by, next to the bed...that had a person on it. She had pinkest hair, and she seemed to still be asleep. His breathing slowed to a halt; attempting to piece together the string of events that would lead to sleeping with a girl, but upon the thought, a massive headache began to shake within the confines of his mind. It was better to leave that thought by itself.
Looking around again...this was a bedroom. Rather royal by appearance alone. His eyes traveled to the dresser. A lone chest without a key. The vent. The device by the vent.
And then the door. It had a painted '8' on it, with a crimson hue. Along with a device right by it. Keycard slider maybe? It looked like that, anyways. But...wait? No keycard in his pocket He perished the thought to check the woman on the bed. And began moving around the room.
His legs were heavy, like a giant who had weights among weights burdened upon him. He moved to the table beside the bed, where the lamp turned on. Laying on it, was a single letter with 'Cinq and Tres' on it. The words were typed on their threw the means of a computer. And the only address it had on it was a 0. He felt inclined to open it. Reaching out with his left han-
Wait...what was this? Moving his eyes to his left wrist, he realized a watch. It was red...ish. And had a blue digit on it, with a 3 on it, displayed like a digital clock. He didn't remember this? Nor did he remember. Quietly, he tried to pull off the watch...but it became more frustrating as time went on. Deciding to leave it alone...
There was a beeping sound by the vent.
As quickly as he could, he mustered the strength in his legs to drag him tot he device that was blinking, only to feel his eyes widen with disbelief. It was a CO reader.
The number was rising. And fast. Directly following, the male sprinted towards the door, stopped midway, and looked at the girl. "Hey, wake up! We need to go!" his voice boomed, rushing towards her and shaking her. He even slapped her once, though completely by accident. Back to the door, he zoomed to the handle, and worked the knob like crazy, only to have it locked from the inside. His pupils shrank, as he searched his persona for anything that could get them out.
Was this impossible? Was he going to die? Was the blackette seriously going to die without knowing what was happening? Was he...already dead? He began to shake rapidly, as the toxic gas began to flood the room. This was impossible, wasn't it? His knees buckled, and he collapsed on both sides.
Am...am I going to die?

Everything but the kitchen Cinq "It's not really escapism, is it? It's a day's leave at best." The young woman sprawled out on the bed was still unconcious, blissfully unaware of the danger around her as she "slept." Her chest remained relatively still as she took in very slow and controlled breaths. To anyone who did not know better, it would appear she was simply dead to the world. She even remained unresponsive to the young man's frantic attempts to rouse her from her slumber. Once all was still, the ears of her pink hat drifted over her closed eyes. As the man abandoned her side, the prone body on the bed began to exhibit small signs of life.
Beneath the ears of the hat, her eyelids fluttered. This movement was similar to those of dreaming eyes, but a bit more frantic in nature, as if she were experiencing a nightmare. Her breathing quickened, consequently causing her chest to rise and fall. Her fingers twitched. One foot jerked an inch into the air. Her eyelids shot open, but only saw pink. She opened her mouth wide - to scream or call for help, one could not tell.
For a moment she did nothing but gasp for air.
Then, her lips gave a slight pucker before she spoke.
"...Cauliflower p***s."
That said, the woman remained still for another few seconds, still a bit dazed from her forced sleep. She instictively brushed at her face with the back of her hand. The world went from eye raping pink to a duller tone that was easier on her light deprived eyes. It took a more seconds - time she did not know could be preciously spent elsewhere for the sounds to reach her ears and jolt her senses. "...Nyah~?"
Which the look of a strung out druggie mimicing her current mental state, she took in her surroundings - a far too elegant bedroom someone like her had no business being in. Her eyes were immediately drawn to the windows - windows that were barred. She blinked as a hint of understanding creeped into her dull mind. The vents caught her eyes next, and finally the young man crumpled by the door. The door...
Adrian slowly pulled herself into a sitting position and forced her legs over the edge of the bed. They refused to bear her weight at the first attempt, but soon she was walking across the floor. The sound of beeping sounded faintly in the background. She paid it no heed as she moved beside the man. He looked to be in the middle of a nervous breakdown. She stared blankly at the door - a small electric device was attached to it, and some irresponsible fool had painted graffiti on it. An 8...she blinked again, and this time confusion was clearly etched onto her face. She balled up her fists to rub against her eyes, and - and...
There was an added weight to her left wrist. Where a row of bangles normally rested, a watch was placed. The bracelets on her arm had been pushed back further to make room for the watch. There was a number on it. She gave it a half hearted tug. "...Cinq?"She turned around sharply, surveying the room again as if for the first time. The vents, the bars, the door, the watches...and the man losing his s**t near the door. This felt like the beginning of a really bad horror movie...She had a bad feeling about those vents...why were they beeping? And why were they locked in?!
Adrian knew their best bet would be to search the room for the key...or anything...to get out of here. She could not do that alone, however. The thought of what possibly may not be fresh air struck her, but that only spurred her on. Her first order of business was to swing her red clad foot at the man's a**. Just to get his attention. "Oi. Cherry boy...This...is a 'game,' ne? Games are no fun when the other doesn't play..."
Her words trailed off as she turned sharpened eyes back to the room behind them. The eyes moved towards the desk then the chest near the bed. Treasure...She blinked again and went to the most obvious of spots for clue gathering: the bathroom. She had no idea what she was looking for, but the hell knows? The queen's ransom could be sitting right in the goddamn toilet bowl. She paid no mind to her "friend," Sir Kneel A Lot, but hoped he would have the mind to help look. Or try to kick down the door.

The blackette was seriously about to blow a gasket. He knew exactly what was going to happen. He was going to die. Along with that already dead girl. It was impossible to get out of this room. No reason was there for being trapped in this room. Carbon monoxide was slowly creeping in...all seemed lost. All WAS lost.
Well, until female woke up, and said something the blackette couldn't understand. From this distance anyway. The male's gaze went directly to her, his eyebrow raised in a questioning manner. He watched her movements closely, perplexed yet never asking why she did as she did. Then she said 'Cinq', and Tres's mind instantly went to the letter. What was she talking about?! Cinq? Was that her name?
Suddenly, the idea of a name came to mind. He had none. Or at least, he didn't recall one. And he remembered 'Tres' too from the letter. The name, anyways...was it his? The idea brushed the surface of his mind, but he didn't let it continue. He was too busy watching her movement.
Then her next statement burned into his mind. A...game? What? This wasn't a game! This was life or death! They weren't just actors that played roles in some kind of play for the amusement of other's! That was downright silly! Who would think of such a horrible thing to put them through all that? It was vile, and inhumane! Whoever did this was a sick ******** who didn't care about life or death, one way or the other. Not some writer, putting them through this torture.
Somewhere in the world, probably in the US, someone sneezed rather loudly.
Tres's mind went blank. She zipped to the bathroom, leaving the male to weep in his own filth over dying. Didn't she know they were locked in?! There wasn't going to be some magic key that did everything for them? Whoever did this would logically keep the key, and drown them out in the toxic gas as long as it killed them. That was OBVIOUSLY going to be the case here. Was she THAT stupid?
The blackette climbed to his feet clumsily, before traveling to the bathroom himself, to watch in despair, as he would share his angst over the fact that he was going to die soon; only to be surprised but what he saw. The mirror was painted to display a backwards set of numbers. By the looks of it, thirty-six, and three.
Why...leave anything? his eyebrow raised in utter confusion, but he moved his hand on the mirror... he slid his hand down the mirror. At his face. At his body. He couldn't remember a thing...not at all. His body hurt. His face...didn't look familiar. He felt alien in this world filled with prehistoric humans. He...wasn't familiar...
...he didn't remember anything. Only a word that could be a name. 'Tres'. He ziplined for the dresser. Honestly, if the girl was already going for the key, he could do his part for the dresser! There were forty numbers total...which meant, the last number could be any of the forty. A simple algorithm, really. Moving his hands across the dial, he attempted it.
36...3...1. Nothing.
36...3...2. Nothing.
36...3...3. Nothing.
The combos were practically limitless, and the blackette male was almost positive this wouldn't work at all! But still...anything that would work...for their sake... even if it had some chance...maybe it could work? The skeptic in him said no, but he honestly didn't believe in that zero chance possibility.
36...3...4. Nothing.
36...3...5. Nothing.
In retrospect, this dresser looks royally old to begin with. Maybe trying to turn knobs like this was a bad idea. But, the knob looked new anyways. Worse case scenario, this wasn't going to open. And that was a definite.
36...3...6. Click.
Tres began to blink... What...happened? That was weird. It was like the dresser clicked. Moving his hands to the handle, he swung open the door to find...three keycards himself! And a file. Part of him was baffled...how in the world did he open this? Was it really THAT easy? Scratching his nose, he moved to the bathroom. He held up the files and the keycards.
"U-Um...hey! I found...something!" the blackette said. His left hand on the keycards, his right on the file.

Everything but the kitchen Cinq "It's not really escapism, is it? It's day leave at best." It looked like a normal bathroom, alright. The only thing that really stood out were the numbers written on the mirror. There were other typical shower stuff...a shower and of course a toilet. She tried the faucet. Nothing. Probably the same for the shower, as well. Other than the numbers, she did not see what else could be a clue. The numbers could be code for something. Combination was an obvious possibility...
Before she could investigate the numbers further, the black haired man joined her side to examine his self in the mirror. She came close to telling him to cease his preening when he suddenly rushed off again. Adrian quickly got back to work.
Next step went to checking the contents of the toilet bowl, the tank, scoffed at the empty toilet paper roll and dug her fingers into the shower drain...She found Jack s**t. If there were other clues in this room, she had no idea. She considered giving up and checking another part of the bedroom. Something, however, stopped her. Oh, right. The urge to kick something useless.
Balancing on one leg, she raised and swung the other in an upward arc, aiming for the useless toilet paper roll. The roll bounced twice and rolled towards the bathroom entrance. Something that sounded like glass on tile sounded from said roll. She bent to exam the floor, where - "Eureka!"
She stared down at the key in the palm of her hand. Figures...At the sight of the young man, she held up the key as he flashed what looked like a file and three cards. Looks like he'd found something too.

"Is it just me...or is this all seeming a little...you know...'too' easy? Like...whoever put us here WANTS us to get out." the black-haired man spoke in a rather cautious manner. He was being painfully honest, obviously. Rubbing his temples, he opened the file. He read it in his head a few times, once, twice, and once more.
Digital roots. Yes...he had heard about this root stuff before, but he couldn't recall where exactly. The idea moved through his reservoir of knowledge known as his mind. Nothing really came to him about what significance it held, but...he had to keep trying. He thought harder...but the headaches began to echo again through the confines of his mind...
They were getting worse. Meaning the carbon monoxide was going to get worse if he kept thinking about it now.
Handing Cinq the folder altogether, the blackette scrambled to the device on the wall. He looked at the door number. "Digital root huh...? Maybe if I..." he moved his hands to the cards, which read '1', '8', and '9'. Flipping his hand through it, he swung keycard after keycard, and attempted to open the door with all 3. First, just 8. Then, all three. When led to one major problem.
...the vent was getting louder. Not a good sign.
Looking to the girl, he felt a part of his face sweat, along with a fit of coughing take over him. "Dammit...what's that key go to anyways?" he spoke, almost yelled. His headache was growing more irriating, and his eyes went to the key, to the chest.
Could it be...?

Everything but the kitchen Cinq "It's not really escapism, is it? It's day leave at best." The ears on her hat flopped as she bobbed her head in agreement. "Like players on a game show...Maybe we're...candid camera..." Whose to say it wasn't all some big elaborate hoax? They get out of the room and get showered with confetti, and Bob Barker gives them an oversized check or free vacation to Cancun for all their trouble...A girl could dream, couldn't she?
...Dizzy. She rubbed the back of her head against her forehead. Pressure...Almost subconsciously, she began taking smaller, controlled breaths. Something about the air...No, better not think about it. She clutched the folder in between her hands, the vacant look slowly returning to her eyes. Something about "digital roots" cut its way through the fog that was her brain, but she was unable to move again until the man showed signs of greater irritation.
She blinked slowly back at him and then towards the chest he kept looking at. Treasure chest...her fingers gave the key a brief squeeze before holding it up in the air. Maybe...! She ran to and fell on your knees in front of the chest. The key went in as nice as you please and the lock gave way when she turned it. She didn't know what to expect when she opened the chest, but surely there had to be something...
Bingo! More keycards, and...a slip of paper with numbers written on it. The keycards she gave to the man, but did not see much reason in holding onto the slip of paper. She began to dance from foot to foot, excitedly. "That's it, right? All we need and we're out?"

Hiss mind worked like a clockwork as he waited for the pinkette girl to attempt to open the chest. His breathing was strained, and there was this slight dizzy drowsiness. On top of all that, the male looked pale. A lot paler than a twnety-or-so year old should be. But there was no time for that. His eyes scanned the chest as Cinq began to insert the key.
His heart stopped...the key turned...
And...SUCCESS! The chest opened, and inside were more keycards. The blackette's eyes moved across each individual keycard, but only did such for a sec. His mind raced like wildfire, only before connecting the dots another second following. Flinging the cards up, he read them off quickly, one by one. "1...3...6...7...8...and 9..."
Simple math began to move through his head. But what solution was he trying to make exactly? Was there a number he needed with this 'digital root' junk? Was there a solution that would be used?
...no...it couldn't be THAT simple...could it?
The '8' on the door was too perfect...it almost made the blackette choke from the sheer simplicity of the whole puzzle. This wasn't right...it COULDN'T be... Throwing away the cards with the one, seven, and nine on the floor, he moved the remaining cards on the keycard slider.
Three plus six...is nine. Eight plus nine...is seventeen. Which means...adding those two...we should come out with a sum of- his thoughts continued questioning how surprisingly difficult this puzzle was. It was like...whoever trapped them here WANTED them out. They wanted to save him and this girl. But...that was too easy...way too easy, right? Right? The blackette's skepticism was boundless. And it would stay that way, as he slid keycard by keycard through the slider. And then, the lever proceeding it.
The device dinged, and what seemed like an unlocking noise sounded. Tres's heart stopped yet again, before grabbing the handle of the door. He twisted it...and magically, it opened. His pupils shrank again at the thought.
Which meant one thing...if they wanted him to escape...would it be THAT easy? Looking to the female yet again, those thoughts stimulated to an overall maximum. How did she even know this was a game? Was this a game? ...if so...was she a player? Was she playing this game too, just to throw off suspicion of herself? The idea of her being the kidnapper...stuck. He started to shake now...
Too soon to think now. They wer- no. He wasn't out of the woods yet. Pulling the girl right behind him, he yanked her out of the room. "COME ON!" he yelled, almost yelling profanity to get her to go. Hopefully, they had grabbed that letter.
As for now...they had to go...they HAD to leave. Slamming the door behind them to make sure the CO could not move through the rest of the area. And like that, they were gone.
