The bedroom is your starting point. Rouge and Firefly both start on the bed. The bedroom has a bathroom within it near the bed, which will act as a secondary room.
There's a door with what seems to be a painted red '8' on it, along with a keycard device to the right side. It will not open for you.
And just as you think you're safe, you're gonna notice an even bigger problem. The ventilation shaft on the wall is now making a weird sound. As though it's blowing something in the room. Thinking it's fresh air, you move directly to the vent. But alas, a mechanism goes off right beside the vent. It begins to buzz. And the number on it begins to soar higher.
It's not fresh air. That's a carbon monoxide reader.
Realizing (eventually; or not) that the only exit is locked, you have to make a decision, and a decision NOW. Get out. Or you're going to die. As the numbers of the CO meter rises...
Better get to work.
The bedroom has:
-A chest with a keyhole on the other side of the bed. It will not open unless you find a key. Might be a good idea to open it. -A dresser with a combination lock in the corner of the room, beside the door. There doesn't seem to be a combination nearby. Goes up from 0-39. -Barred down windows on the opposite side of the door-wall, revealing the night sky. You can see you're on the second floor from here. Not getting out that way. -Lamps on both sides of the bed. They are nice lamps. -A letter on the table where the lamp is. It's addressed to 'Rouge and Firefly'. The only address seems to be the lone number '0' on it. It might be for the best to open this later. -Comfy chairs. Ahhhh...relaxing! Not the brightest idea to be relaxing now. -Carpets. They look expensive. -A chandelier. Maybe you can swing on it like a monkey, and kick the door open? Hopefully, there's someone who will laugh at that...
The bathroom has:
-A mirror with what looks like two backwards numbers, what looks like a 36, and a 3. Could this be the locker combination for the dresser in the other room? But...don't most combinations have three numbers? -The toilet. Maybe you can crawl through sewage to get out. Still hoping on a partner, huh? Oh well. Nothing to see here. -The toilet paper holder. There seems to be something in the hole of the paper roll. Maybe you should check it out? -A shower. You don't necessarily smell. Sides, even turning faucets isn't doing anything. No water. -The ceiling lights. Bright.

A groan escaped her lips and Aza's eyes fluttered open. They took a moment to adjust to the lighting before fully opening. She slowly edged herself into a sitting position, her eyes drinking in every aspect of her surroundings. Aza was on a bed in a fancy room. Sparkling chandeliers hung from the ceiling and the floor was adorned with expensive looking rugs threaded with gold. There was a door with an '8' spray painted on it and a dresser by it. There was another door that led into a separate room, probably a bathroom or something of the like. Aza turned her head to look around some more, and her eyes settled on a small and petite figure also resting on the bed. She looked like she was just a child. Where was she? Who was the girl? Aza swung herself over to the side of the bed, wincing a little as her bones ached. How long had she been here? Her feet, or her flats rather, touched the floor just as an odd sound began to come from the ventilation shaft on the wall. She looked up in surprise. What was happening now? And then her eyes caught sight of the reader besides the vent. It was a carbon monoxide reader.
She instantly understood and quickly glanced around at her surroundings again. The door with the '8' on it had some sort of device next to it. It was probably locked, and it appeared to be the only exit. But she wasn't worried in the slightest. There had to be some way for her and that strange girl to get out of here. Speaking of the girl, Aza ran back to the bed, her movements fluid and graceful like a deer. Upon reaching it, she started shaking the girl on it. "Wake up!" Aza's voice was loud for once with the sense of urgency about the situation. "I said to please wake up!" She didn't know if she could trust the girl, but she could at least put her to work in helping to find a way out. If it were only her, she would have more time to think and breathe less air. But now, since she had someone else in the room with her, it made things much more difficult. This is exactly why she worked by herself; having others around was sometimes too much of a burden.
As she continued to shake the girl, the fog blanketing Aza's mind suddenly lifted, and she remembered what had happened. She stopped what she was doing, her eyes wide as her mind replayed the events. Her home, photo albums, and then some white smoke-- knockout gas now that she thought about it-- and a masked man who said she'd been chosen. Everything clicked into place as she thought about that masked man. She knew where she was now, and had a feeling she knew why she was here. It was the same for him all those years ago. She was here for the same reason. Now that she knew, there was no time to waste. Aza shook the girl one last time before turning and grabbing the letter she'd spotted earlier by the desk. She shoved it into her dress's pocket before running over to the dresser by the door. Aza knelt down, inspecting the lock. Her heart pounding, she wondered what she should do. There didn't seem to be a given combination, but there had to be some clues somewhere in the room. Whatever was in it was probably important.

A girl older than she really looked woke up drowsy feeling as if she had just been knocked out. A feeling unfortunately all too familiar to her, as she was constantly falling in and out of sleep against her will. But this time, it seemed a little different. Her eyes fluttered open, blonde, almost white looking eyelashes sweeping the air. She snuggled into the pillow her head was resting on, expecting another wave of sleep, but the process was interrupted by a gentle shake on her shoulder. Also a familiar feeling. She opened her eyes once again to see a beautiful, tall woman with bright blue eyes and a concerned look on her face. Had she died, and gone to heaven, maybe?
Ce...Ce... What was her name again? Cecily? Cecily. Well, she remembered her name, something one would think would be a simple task, but there was a fog covering her brain right now. Unfamiliar. Cecily, even only twenty-four had figured she felt almost everything that mattered to her already, so this was new to her. She blinked a few times at the girl, who was already running off to check out the room. There was something wrong with this. Sudden grogginess overtook the girl, and she almost just went back to sleep right then, but the girl did everything she could to stay awake and jump out of the bed. It was difficult, and her legs almost just went to sleep right beneath her. Her hands reached out to grab whatever was there to stabilize herself, and she slammed down on the edge of the bedside table, causing the lamp to wobble. As the feeling of 'about to die' left Cecily, her eyes focused on a chest against the wall, obviously locked. But she checked anyway.
She remembered the other girl at this point, who looked calm yet frantic at the same time, if that was even possible. "What's happening...?" Cecily whispered, still very, very confused. Her head spun. The woman with black hair seemed to be checking the meter on the wall near the door. So Cecily went there too. And it was familiar. A carbon-monoxide reader. Every house should've had one, and if it was going up as fast as this one was, you needed to get OUT. A wave of urgency washed over Cecily and she immediately began trying to find ways to get out. She was still a bit disoriented, and the fact that she could die in about ten minutes hadn't hit her yet. Unfortunately her partner in the room had already gotten at least a couple minutes more of searching alone. But Cecily was useful. The door was locked, she could already tell if the other woman was in here. The windows were barred, and that other door went to the bathroom. Cecily ran in there now, as she figured the other woman was capable enough to be searching around the main room. Hopefully she hadn't covered the bathroom yet.
It was small, yet ornate just like the bedroom. She instantly saw the numbers on the mirror. Before heading into the bathroom, she took a quick look around the room, and now remembered seeing a combination lock. She quickly connected the numbers and the lock. But didn't locks usually have 3 numbers to them? "Hey..." She called to the other girl, just loud enough for her to hear. Who was she, anyway? Wasn't important now. There were more pressing matters. "Can you keep an eye out for another number?" Her voice was shaky, but she felt strangely calm. She went to work investigating all other parts of the bathroom. The shower and sinks didn't work, the toilet... was a toilet. Nothing around it. Something was sticking out from inside the toilet paper roll though. Cecily bent down to inspect it.
ooc:// WE CAN DOOO IIIIT also, wasn't too sure how to start having never played the game. maybe i should have made her more freaked out... XD

Moving her hands across the toilet paper holder to move it off, Cecily discovers...
...a key!
And strangely enough, it looks like it goes to something in the bedroom. Might want to take it...

She heard the girl behind her whisper something and then head off to a different part of the room. So she'd woken up. That was good. Aza was glad that she had gone over to the other room. At least now she didn't have to try to talk to her. Her eyes flickered over to the lock again just as the other girl called out to her, saying something about a number. Number...? It only took a moment for her to realize she was talking about the combination lock. Did that mean she found some of the numbers to it? Aza quickly stood up and analyzed the room again, her gaze landing on the carpets. Maybe there was something under them. Aza started walking from one end of the room to the other, inspecting the floor for any telltale signs of hidden objects.

A key... A key! "I-I found a key!" She called to the woman in the other room. Cecily sat on her knees and examined the key. It was pretty generic, looking like it could open anything. There was nothing that looked like it could be opened in the bathroom. No suspicious looking hole or indent in anything that she could observe. She pulled back the shower curtain and took a quick look around. Everything was very normal for any bathroom. But wait, didn't she see a locked chest in the other room? And keys unlocked things! (No s**t, Sherlock)
She rushed back into the other room, first checking the carbon monoxide meter, worrying some more, then waving the key into the other woman's direction, letting her know of the find, and also to get her attention. Before that, though, she tripped over the rug. It was alright though! She caught herself. Cecily didn't work well under pressure. And if impending doom wasn't pressure, she didn't know what was. She was fully aware of the danger now, and every second that passed by just made her heart beat even faster. She dragged herself up and towards the chest, giving her rug burn on her knees. But it was worth it. Because if Cecily was right, the key would go right into the chest and unlock it. Shaky hands fumbled with the key for a few moments before jamming it into the lock.

The lock turned. The chest Cecily stood before made a sound, before it swung open by itself to reveal...
...nothing.
Well, not nothing. There was a paper with a number on it. A '6' to be exact. A lone 6...in this chest? And three green key-cards with numbers on them: 3, 6, and 7.

She heard the woman call to her again, this time about a key. Aza immediately thought of the locked chest from before. It should unlock that. Sure enough, the girl from before barged into the room she was in and showed her the key before marching over to the chest. Aza followed, watching expectantly as the girl turned it into the keyhole. The chest swung open to reveal its contents: a paper with a number and three green key-cards.
"...Good work," Aza quietly told the girl. She knew what to do now. It was almost exactly like how he had described it to her on that fateful day... She reached for the items and holding them in her hands, took a peek in the bathroom. Just like she'd thought, the other girl had found numbers, a 36 and a 3 to be exact. She headed back over to the bedroom and knelt before the dresser's combination lock. Aza quickly put in the combination code: 36-3-6. Now to see what would happen next...

Aza quickly puts in the numbers 36-3-6 into the combination lock in the dresser. As the last turn ends...
...a sound occurs.
The dresser opens to reveal 3 more keycards! Red in color, they read off: 1, 8, and 9. Along with a file that explains the use for digital roots. Use it to your advantage!

((OOC: WINNIE. We're getting out of here! 8D Yaaaay~))
Her prediction had been right. The dresser contained more key-cards, just as she had suspected. Aza swiftly grabbed them and the file about digital roots. She didn't even need to look at its contents to know what to do next. This was exactly like his description. The room, the danger, the puzzles... everything. Tears stung her eyes at the thought of him, but she forced them down and carefully placed the file in the girl's hands behind her. "Here, you should read this," she told her without looking her in the eye. As always Aza did not do so well around other people.
She hurried to the door with the '8', picking out the key-cards she would need and slashing them through the device. 7, 6, 3, and 1 were the cards she used. Together, when added, they came to a sum of 17, making a digital root of 8. If she was right, the door should open.

((OOC: TO THE BALLROOM, YEAH. 8D))
The door swung open and Aza didn't wait a moment longer. "Come on," she called quietly over her shoulder to the girl. She'd have to learn her name later. Aza stepped out of the room and looked to the right and left. Which direction should she go? But in the end it wouldn't matter. She had a feeling she'd just end up in the same place. She allowed herself a small smile for once as she took off, not bothering to wait for the other girl as she knew she wouldn't lose her way. It was because of him that she had escaped, although it was ironic that the knowledge that had saved her had killed him. Thank you...
