I know the season hasn't even started yet, but I just can't wait for it to start already! You can still discuss all of the pre-season games here as well. Some Lakers fans are worried about the losses in pre-season, but I don't think they should be too worried. Then again, I haven't really got to watch any of the games because I don't have Time Warner Cable.. But from the highlights I've seen, they look like they're getting better every day. At least the starters do anyway. Steve Nash is unsurprisingly making nice passes, like in the first game he made a bounce pass under a defender to rookie Robert Sacre and a no look bounce pass to World Peace.

I never really wanted to discuss the Lakers struggles throughout the pre-season so far, but tonight Dwight Howard is going to play his first game since his injury.

It looks like I'm the only one here, but I'll post anyway. sad
I didn't get the chance to watch the other games, but I knew Heat would beat the Celtics. I heard Lebron had to leave the during the third quarter or something. I saw some highlights and Ray Allen played well, getting the ball where he wants to take the shot. The Celtics will miss the spacing they had from Allen's three point shooting even with Jason Terry in my opinion.
The Lakers played well offensively in the first half, but they could never pick it up on the defensive end. Then in the second half their offense became sloppy as their defense. The bench played okay, but they definitely have room for improvement (The whole team for that matter). They need Meeks and Jamison to hit the open mid range shot or three. Hill still brings in some sorely needed energy of the bench, but it's never enough. Team chemistry didn't happen in pre-season and it won't be complete in one game. I'm positive that it will all come together as the season goes on.

Ray Allen drops 19 on his old team! The Heat have really improved their bench with Allen and Lewis as regular rotation guys.

I just wish the Lakers could be playing great already. I know chemistry won't happen in just ten games, but I wish it did. I'm confident as the season progresses that the Lakers will become a great team. Whether or not they win the championship this year is beyond me, but I'm positive that they'll be great and hopefully they get their first win tonight vs the Clippers.

I fell like I'm the only one posting in the guild.. emo
I can't catch all the games, so I make time to see the Lakers games.
Anyway, the Lakers played very well against the Pistons. They weren't hesitating on offense and played great defensively. All the starters were in double digits except Steve Blake, but he wouldn't have started if Nash wan't injure. They didn't have too many turnovers and they weren't committing too many fouls as well.
The bench didn't really play that well except for Hill and maybe Jamison. Morris was okay. The thing I don't understand is that Mike Brown won't even put Meeks in the normal rotation even though they signed him to be the back up for Kobe. It's only the first couple of games, so he should give a try before leaving him to warm up the bench.

I know Meeks is not a rookie, but if you look at the rookies this year, none of them are getting minutes except Lillard and Davis. I mean Beal and MKG are starting, but they're only getting like 20-25 mpg. It's not like there are a lot of other people to play over these guys. I feel like a lot of coaches are playing the "reliable" guy over the guy who can potentially become great. I don't remember it being like this. To see Lottery picks get a DNP - Coach's Decision? I would at least play them minutes to see where they are at.

I'm sorry I've been inactive. I still don't have FSN Southwest, so the only Mavs game I've been able to watch this year was the Lakers game and boy was that sweet! They're 3-1 to start the season and play the Raptors tonight.

On the other hand, I'm so depressed seeing the Lakers drop to 1-4.. emo They just can't seem to pull it together against any playoff team. Apparently, after they lost to the Jazz, Jerry Sloan and Fire Mike Brown were trending on Twitter.. Well, something along those lines. It would be cool to see him have a go with the Lakers, but it's still way too drastic to give up on Brown as of now.

It will be interesting to see who will be the next head coach. Rumors and reports are flowing around about Phil Jackson possibly returning. 3nodding

@Philology I heard he'll make his decision on Monday of whether or not he should come back. I also heard that he wants Brian Shaw and Scottie Pippen in his coaching staff.
Lakers playing against the Kings tonight. They couldn't beat them in the pre-season, but I think they will beat them this time and start their first win streak of the season. Looking for the Lakers to be 3-4 after tonight.. lol

Tough loss for the Lakers in their last game against the Spurs as they go 3-5.. They really need to pick up the slack. Costly turnovers and bad fouls, although some were questionable, but I'm just biased. Hopefully they can start a real win streak against the Suns on Friday.

True, at least the defensive effort picked up. Not bad considering Nash and Steve Blake were out. Once Nash is in, he can do the facilitating and Kobe can go back to taking over in the 4th.

The Lakers got nice wins over the Suns and Rockets. I really thought Harden was going to go lights out, but he was ok. Kobe got the triple double and Gasol reached 15,000 points. They played well on both ends of the floor. Even though it's not the greatest teams that they get their wins from, it still looks things are on the up and up. Hopefully they can continue their win streak against the Nets.

Really disappointed that the Lakers are still struggling out of the gate. Howard and Gasol were struggling again, but the only bright side was that the bench played well. Then again, that was pretty much just Jamison. The Grizzlies are a really good team. They just keep improving. Hopefully Nash can get this team to play better once he comes back from his injury. Especially Howard and Gasol.
