The Daily Prophet is open to any with a juicy story, and, sadly for the journalists, complaints. It's where the writers sit down and write a newspaper full of lies for everyone believe. It's looks like quite a modest place, and looks puny sitting besides Gringotts bank when really it has three stories. It has red shutters and strange umbrellas sitting outside, shielding unmatching chairs and floating candles. It looks very cosy and inviting, with a hint of shadows and shade.

Will the Triwizard Tournaments be re-entered in schools?

Three school headmasters and mistresses met up yesterday with the Ministry of Magic for a discussion on whether the Triwizard Tournaments should be reopened for students to participate. The last time it was held, 200 years ago at Hogwarts, the game was hacked and one student was tortured while the other was killed instantly by the criminal known as You-Know-Who.
User Image

A 14 year old boy also hacked into it to make sure he had a place in The Tournament and there were no rules in place to stop him. The games, apparently, will be open to third years to seventh years so that such an embarrassment wont take place again. However, third to fifth years will have to have training before they can participate and will have to have top grades. They are permitted a personal trainer until the games officially start.
We talked to the Headmistress of Hogwarts when the meeting was over, who had this to say: 'It's starting to look like the tournament will happen, the only undecided part is where it will be held.'

The Centaur Agreement.

User Image

The centaurs and the Ministry of Magic have finally found peace! After hundreds of years of petty squabbles and the occasional battle, the Ministry signed a pact with the centaurs, allowing them to keep their land. The pact also says that any rogue centaurs without land or a herd must find work in the wizarding world and keep out of the muggles way. The Ministry have put anti-muggle charms on all of the Centaurs woods and fields but warn that if the herd goes further than the bounderies set that it would be a sticky end.
If any centaur herds break the pact, they will lose their land and will be forced to work inside the Wizarding world, whether they like it or not. As one member of the Ministry put it, they will 'Become a new version of house elves!'

Will there be a Triwizard Tournament? YES! The time has come and it's all at Hogwarts!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Triwizard Tournament has officially begun! If there are any doubts, it's time to put them aside and enjoy the ride, as they say. This morning the two schools will make their way towards Hogwarts, as well as the Goblet of Fire, which they shall enter their name in. Like 200 years before, it will have the Ageing Ring around it to prevent first and second years from entering.There have been rumors and gossip spreading like fiendfyre that extra precautions have been taken to make sure others can't put in their friend's names.
"My father's friend's mother works in the ministry, and she said that each applicant has to fight a basilisk!" Says Gina Doxypuff, a Zonko's employee. Has the ministry really taken such steps?
Regardless, Beauxbatons Academy of Magic and Durmstrang Institute are eager to claim the trophy this year, though Hogwarts is fairly confident they can win it yet again. Other wizarding schools have been mulling over the idea of having their own tournaments; such as Mahoutokoro in Japan, and the Salem Witches' Institute in America.
Yours with love,
Mavice Smith
Who are the Triwizard Contestants?
The contestants were chosen yesterday, Shane Meademoon from Hogwarts, Layla Lailoniette from the Beaxbatons Academy and Teo Parmander from Durmstrang Institute. Already, the students were snapping at each other. Angelina Swordskill had just explained the rules when the Hogwarts contestant immediately snapped at Teo Parmander. However, he then proceeded with a great deal of unnecessary comments, calling her confused, and claiming that he was better than her and begged to be the first contestant to be seen on the stage. Before they were broken up, Miss Meademoon called him a 'lost cause'.
User Image
Besides their squabbles, the tournament is going well. No one has got themselves in by breaking any protective charms, or is underage. No one has died, and everyone is settled in. Layla Lailoniette is a true example, and should give the two other contestants lessons! She's mingling with the other schools and has not yet gotten into any fights. It seems that out of the three contestants, she is the most cool headed, and has quite an auror about her. If anyone's betting money, I'd suggest you bet on her!
Should Erumpents be allowed in the wild?.
User Image
Yesterday a tourist muggle family was killed in Africa by two Erumpents that were fighting over a female, and mistook the muggle car for another rival. The muggles car exploded from the poison in the rhino-looking horns and they died instantly. Keeping the muggle police out of it is proving difficult, but African wizards are sure that they can cover it up, and are asking English authorities to make sure that the rest of the muggle family forget about their relatives. So far, authorities have refused.
Instead, they have questioned keeping such a dangerous animal outside of captivity. An erumpent expert had this to say: "Their numbers are few, because they blow each other up all the time, but this means that they'd be very easy to round up, and we'd be able to control their numbers safely." The African authorities believe that they should continue to roam free, and refuse to co-operate.
What happened in the Triwizards first event?
Everyone survived, and everyone's wounds have been healed. The challenge was to go up against a Roc bird, that is famous for eating whales from the sea. The bird was guarding four eggs, but the contestants only needed one. Teo Parmander from Durmstrang suffered a horrible blow that slowed him right down in the competition, earning him last place, but he got the egg out in one piece and claims that he doesn't care that he lost. Layla Lailoniette from Beauxbatons didn't do much better. The bird gave her such a severe blow to the arm that some claim to have looked away in horror. Even with it, she came second. Shane Meademoon from Hogwarts won, she received no noticeable injuries thanks to her fast spell-casting and left the arena proudly.
All of the contestants were given a riddle and were told to keep the egg. It's to hatch at midnight tonight and all contestants are keeping a close eye on it.
Transfiguration and Herbology have been degraded!.
User Image
After a long debate in the depths of the Ministry, it has been decided that Herbology and Transfiguration aren't important enough to be forced onto OWLs and NEWTs students. In third year, they can be dropped, but it is compulsory still, for them to be taught the subjects in their first two years.
"It's unlikely that a wizard will ever have to face Devil's Snare, or a Venomous Tentacula in their life times, unless they go looking for it." One minister proclaimed "And we really don't need to know how to change a book into a mouse. It has been a great help in the past, but now times have changed. There's no point in causing unnecessary stress to our children."
Many teachers have protested against this, but all of them suddenly gave up last afternoon and the law has been signed. Herbology and Transfiguration have been down-graded, and the teachers of these subjects pay has gone down by 10%.
The Yule Ball
They all gathered in pretty dresses and posh suits and two contestors danced with their partners... but wait, are there not three? Indeed, Teo Parmander arrived with a striking young lady that seemed almost veela in her beauty, and Shane Meademoon brought an intelligent and slightly muscly boy to the successful Yule Ball, but Layla Lailoniette is obviously not as popular as first proposed.
User Image
She came to the ball dateless, and stayed in the VIP room all night. The eggs have all opened correctly, and the next tournament is ready to take place. Has miss Lailoniette sunken too low to continue, or will she put on a brave face and face the next mission?
Pure Rumors?User Image
Witches and wizards have been gathering outside the Ministry, trying to find out the truth. An Auror let slip yesterday that there were fears of an anti-muggle group planning attacks on schools that allow non-pure bloods.The Ministry has assured that it's just rumor, but the Daily Prophet received an anonymous note: Mudbloods will go, voluntarily or forcefully. Headmistress Skye has put extra defenses around Hogwarts and has said that newly invented spells are being put in place for the Triwizard Tournament, which is still going ahead.
User ImageCan it be that the second Triwizard Tournament contest is over? All the fun it was watching the young wizard and witches fight for a chance to get The Cup!User Image But what new things will the young wizards and witches be doing after the Tournament? Studying of course! The Exams are coming just around the corner for all students. All the students I hope had a Great time at the Yule Ball! Rumor has it Hogwarts is looking for more Teachers and House elves, can it be it's been to much for the teachers and it's time for their retirement? Maybe, but right now teachers have to worry about keeping the students safe and get them to study for the Exams.
Tournament Trend
The Salem Witches Institute in America have officially accepted hosting a Triwizard Tournament with four different schools, Veracruz School from Mexico, The Coshocton Wizards Institute in America, The Yellowknife Academy from Canada and the Codo Wizarding Educational Institution of Brazil. User Image
The headmistress from Salem Witches Institute has declared there will be three challenges that will push the mind, body and magic to its limits. The rewards are said to be one thousand galleons and a Triwizard Trophy. Durmstrang has also said that they will be holding a Trwiwizard tournament next year for any European schools that wish to compete. Beauxbatons Acadamy and Hogwarts School have already signed up.
The ones underlined are fake ones I made up, or names I added for effect on existing schools.
Chimera to be killed?
A large band of wizards seem to have been selling Chimera eggs, which are Class A: Non-Tradable Materials. Aurors are on the case, but have reported sightings of a live Chimera trapped inside a building. The area has been cleared and spectators are warned that imprisonment will be necessary for any who attempt to approach the building without permission. If anyone has advice on how to tame the beast and get it out without any harm, please let the Ministry know as soon as possible, but do not try to face it yourself.
User Image
There's a silver lining to every dark cloud as they say, and this chimera has ended the debate that has been had for hundreds of years: What does a chimera look like? Many have said it's got three heads and a scaly tail, while others have said it only has one, and the tail is a snake. An artist has looked through gaps in the building, and has drawn the picture shown above from what he's seen. "It's not the best, but a flash camera would most definitely of created a reaction, probably a dangerous one, so painting was the only option." Said leading debater, Logi Lab "It's a start."
The Winner of the Hogwarts Triwizard Tournament!
The final tournament was to fight your way through a variety of different flying beasts that were almost Class 4X Creatures. All they needed was to touch the snitch and the tournament would end. Of all the contestants, Teo seemed to suffer the most, meeting and battling more than twice the amount Layla battled and he also saved Shane from a gruesome attack by a griffin. This was presumably payback for the previous tournament when Shane saved Teo from a man eating plant.
User Image
The three teamed up and chased the snitch through storms and attacks until Teo neared the snitch, but a sudden attack caused him to swerve and Shane became the champion. "I've never been so happy to lose." A bloody and breathless Teo said after the tournament "Shane is undoubtedly one of the greatest witches of this age and she deserved to win more than anyone." The Hogwarts student will receive 1000 galleons into her Gringotts Vault by the end of the week and it's been said that a Chocolate Frog Card of the young woman will be released in the coming month.
