*runs in and pounces on the topic* Whee! I think I'll spread my love of Scott McNeil to these boards as well! *sits down and snuggles into a couch*
Well, I got to meet him at Sakura con 2004 *nods* he's such a nice person! *smiles* I guess when you hang around him for a while you end up with a lot of funny stories to tell, but I'll spare you all from them. Today is Anime Evolution *sighs* and I really really wanted to go just to see Scott again *^^* him and Dobby both.
Scott McNeil is still one of my favorite, and definately the most loved, voice actors. I got to observe the kind of person he was at Sakura con, he was always nice and patient with his fans. There was a girl near the end of the line who was bright red and in tears when she got near him. She must have loved him a lot to be that overcome with joy from seeing him. *nods* But he just signed her thingamajig (can't remember what it was) stood up, gave her a big hug, and told her to breathe. Every time she would take a deep breath and sob, but he just held her, calmed her down and of course I took a photo. *^^*
I wonder sometimes if he ever hates the characters he has voiced, and the fact that 90% of his fans focus on his characters and who they are, and not exactly who Scott himself is.
ack, I think I'll stop boring you all now, if you ever want to hear more about the time I got to spend with Scott just say so *nods* I'll be happy to share.

Hi guys,
Whee, my first post here whee !
Yuki_Yue, I had the pleasure of meeting Scott McNeil as well at a Botcon/Transformers convention a few years back. He was a hoot xd ! He kissed almost all the girls who lined up for an autograph. I was too shy to ask him for one, so I didn't get kissed redface . He signed my print of Waspinator, "Waspinator, happy at last!" If I ever meet him again, I'm going to bring a cel of Koga from Inuyasha to sign, "You're my woman!" xd !
My favorite voice actor though is probably Frank Welker since he was the first voice actor I learned to recognize 20 years ago (Yes, I'm that old twisted !) via The New Heckle and Jeckyll Show where he did all the voices. Since he isn't a fan of conventions, I'll probably never meet him in person though. I did get his autograph off of eBay via those Scooby-Doo autograph cards that Inkworks put out last year, which is probably the closest I'll ever get to meeting him.

Aside from the brief bit of drunken foolery (ok, I wasn't drunk, but the rest of my group was and for being the only sobbver one, I'm a really bad person to rely on keeping things reasonable....) where we passed glowsticks around to the people in the Wired at SakuraCon (we originally wanted to throw them at people but one of the drunk people said that might not be smart ;_; I was all for it of course) and had like, 5 minutes visiting with Scott, I haven't talk with any VA's since way back in Nov. '99.
It was great though. Went to a massively small con up in Vancouver BC, ADV sent a bunch of their VA's (Tiffany Grant, Amanda Winn Lee, Jason Lee, JEssica Cavillero[sp?] and etc...). So Tanet and I spent a good majority of are time talking and having fun with them (most of the time on accident. You'd just pop into a room/vid-room and one or more of them would be there [insert lots of pervy jokes and laughing].
Yeah, so any VA fans, keep an eye out for small cons -nodnod- ^_^;

Slai Scott's such a nice person, *^^* I'm his official underling in his army of squee-ing fangirls *winks* I guess you would call me a general, or something like that, whatever is one rank below the supreme ruler *points to scott* Bah don't be shy around Scott! *smiles* He's just another person like you or me, he just happens to be an awesome and well loved voice actor!
I've never heard of Frank Welker *sweatdrop* forgive me if I'm an idiot but I think he may be a touch before my time *^^* What else was he in? maybe I've heard his voice but not known who it was...I'm really bad at that. *^^* Getting the names of people whose voices I love I mean.
Anyway I should stop boring you *^^*

Hi Yuki_Yue, Frank Welker is most famously known as the voice of Freddy on Scooby-Doo. Right now, he's also currently voicing Scooby-Doo as well as Freddy on the What's New Scooby-Doo? series, taking over for Don Messick, Scooby's original voice, who passed away a few years back. Besides Freddy, Welker has also voiced: Abu from Aladdin
Darwin from seaQuest DSV
Dynomutt
Hefty Smurf from Smurfs
the ORIGINAL Megatron from the old '80s Transformers cartoon and that's just the tip of the iceberg of credits in his resume. He's also famous for his animal grunts on numerous famous movies including Free Willy and City Slickers. We Welker fans can recognize his animal sounds in almost any movie he does ^^;! Sonia wink

ooooooh *^^* Now I know who he is! *dances* yaaay! and *looks at lilium* I've never seen him wear a ring, and unless that tatoo is an undying symbol of his love, I'm gonna wait til next time I see him to ask if he's married lol *^^* and if I can met his wife and such. Because she MUST be as wonderful a person as scott. *nods* It's not fair, I didn't get to go to anime evolution this year, *sigh* but there's always next year *^^* more ocean group voice actors were there this year, I really wanted to go.

Sadly, I don't have any favorite voice actors based on their abilities. However, me and my sister and some of her friends have built up a small fandom for a specific actor because he has a *cough* funny *cough* name.

Around the same time, Aladdin, the Disney TV series was also airing, and, in a stroke of casting irony, Welker was paired with his seaQuest DSV buddy, Jonathan Brandis/Lucas Wolenczak again! Brandis voiced Mozenrath, Aladdin's arch nemesis, and Welker voiced Xerxes, Mozenrath's little hench eel! Of course, Welker also voiced Abu though too! Sonia whee
