Location: Baker Library on the MIT Campus Time: 9 pm Weather: Cloudy and cold, snow covered ground There was a certain peace out tonight. Aine sat in the roof of the old library staring out at the motley collection of empty, half destroyed buildings. She hadn't seen hide nor hair of another living being since the chaos ended. She knew she couldn't be the only survivor, but she didn't want to risk leaving the library unprotected. At least, that’s what she told herself. Truth be told she was terrified to leave. What kinds of people were left out there? Were they good, nice people? Or were they cruel frightening people? She’d so far managed to make quite the fortress out of the library. She felt quite safe. She’d boarded up the entire bottom level with scraps of wood she’d found around and used old desks to add a little more difficulty to trying to get in. If people needed firewood, it would be the library’s that would get hit and she wouldn't allow it. She’d also grabbed as many bottles of alcohols on each of her supply runs to make maltov cocktails out of if she had to. She’d also stole solar panels and set them up on the roof so she’d have a source of electricity. Though she tended to not have the lights on at night just in case someone was around and decided to go investigate. She had plans to make good use of the study rooms in this place. One would be the kitchen. Another would be turned into the storage room. And one was already her bedroom. She just had a few blankets and minimal supplies so far. She’d have to go out and find food and electronic scraps so she could build better defenses and have a supply of food at her disposal. She also needed to head over to the Green house and start bringing the potted foods over to the roof so she’d have a steady supply of fresh veggies. So far she was living off of random cans of food that she’d found. But that would all have to wait until tomorrow. For now, she needed her rest. So, flashlight in hand she made her way back down into the library. The library was so quiet, it was almost eerie, a few shadows startled her but she knew there really wasn't anything to fear in here. Back in her room Aine made up her bed on the floor and crawled into her blankets. There were so many things she had to set up in the days to come. She only hoped she could get comfortable here and that she could remain safe.

Location:MIT Campus Time:9:19-9:22 pm Weather:Cloudy and cold, snow covered the ground Alexander wandered into a college campus, Not knowing where he was at he started searching around, He saw a bunch of destroyed buildings and a few fires in a couple of buildings that looked like classrooms from the outside, It was night which Alexander liked the most since nobody can barely see him besides his mask, Alexander noticed a big building that stood strong and seemed unharmed. Alexander read the sign which said Baker Library. "Look's safe." Alexander said as he started running towards it in a crouched position. Alexander reached the door of the library but it wouldn't budge. "Hmmm." Alexander said as he looked around the building. Alexander noticed a pipe that reached all the way to the rooftop. Alexander having climbed all his life looked at the pipe and thought to himself that this was a piece of cake. Alexander began climbing up the pipe, Always looking down at the ground to see if the pipe was steady. Alexander finally reached the top and pulled himself up to the rooftop, "Phew, That was easy." Alexander said as he noticed a door that lead inside. Alexander slowly went to the door and opened it cautiously. Alexander creep-ed inside and let go of the door as he started walking down. Alexander went down the first step as the door slammed shut behind him making a loud noise that echoed all through the library alerting anyone inside. "Crap." Alexander muttered as he stared down into the darkness.

Aine shot up out of be like a cat out of bathwater at the loud noise echoing through her home. She hadn't seen a person in months so her first reaction was to assumeit was a raider. Instinctively she threw off her blankets and grabbed the baseball bat she'd found a few days past. Carefully she climbed off her bed and started toward the door of her makeshift room. Being as quiet as she could she opened the door ever so slowly. Trying to be as light footed as possible, Aine slipped out of the door and began slinking through the bookcases. Then she heard a male voice and she froze, he was near the stairs to the roof. Immediately she pressed herself up against a bookshelf trying to gather her nerves. Her heart was pumping a million miles per hour and the nerves were making her shiver slightly, or could that have been due to the cold. As she heard footsteps coming closer to herAine clentched her jaw. No, there was no way she was going to let anyone touch her library or her for that matter. She would die fighting before she'd let that happen. So gathering her strenght her knuckles going white from the gripe on her bat and she turned the corner and swung for the intruders head. She wasn't very strong and there was a very high possibility thay he would catch the bat before it connected with his head, but she wasn't just going to give in Feel free to have him catch the bat.

Alexander walked down the steps slowly, Looking straight ahead, As he was about to step off the stairs he saw the head of a bat sticking out from around the corner, As he noticed the bat, Somebody quickly turned around and swung the bat towards his head. Alexander quickly ducked under the bat and stumbled backwards away from his attacker, He tried to get a good look at his attacker but all he could see was the attacker's figure so he couldn't really tell if it was a boy or a girl. Alexander quickly held up his both hands that had black knit gloves on them and yelled out, "Wait wait, I'm not dangerous, in fact i don't have a single weapon on me." Alexander said as he started panting from the adrenaline that he was experiencing. Alexander assumed that his attacker can only see his white mask and they would probably freak out when they saw it.

And she certainly did. The moment she saw the mask she pulled the bat back, poised to swing again if she had to. She didn't for the time being, however. Instead she swallowed hard and spoke. "Teik of yer mask." Her irish accented voice trembled from the panic in her heart, her bright blue eyes revealed her absolute terror. "Gu on then, Teik it off. Only a thief ar raider ware's a mask." She didn't know who this guy was, but he was a stranger and he could easily be dangerous, weapon oor not. Men were stronger and tougher, compared to a sixteen year old Engineer slash gymnast, he could easily take her down if he meant her harm and that made her paranoid. He would have to earn her trust if he wanted her to put the bat down. She was a pretty slight female, standing at only 5 foot even. In the darkness, her hair looked dark brown and her features were too shadowed to make out. But her voice was definately female, and definately not American judging by the accent. Translation:Take off your mask Go on then, take it off. Only a theif or raider wears a mask.

Alexander scared for his life did what his attacker told him to do, He took off his white mask and strapped it to his belt, "Okay, okay, It's off. I thought this library was empty so i decided to check for myself. I never knew a person would be here. I never seen one for weeks. Please can you just put you're bat down." Alexander said as he still had his arms raised up, He looked around him just to check his surroundings in case he had to escape he would climb the bookcases and run along them until he lost her and found his way back to the stairs. Alexander noticed his attacker was a woman, and not from around here, "Where are you from? I can tell from you're accent you're not from around here." Alexander said as he looked at her.

Aine stared at him for a few moments, listening to his words with a suspicious expression. She noted him looking around for an exit strategy and immediately began to think that maybe he was actually telling the truth. Slowly, she began to lower her bat but she didn't let it drop to the ground just yet. "Or ya plannen to burn the books?" She asked suspiciously, "Cause if ye are, yule have mour then a bat to worry about." Though while she cared for her books, her biggest concern was herself, and her... ahem, purity. "Yoo cen stay the night, in one of the other rumes. But if ye try anything, I promise yu'll regret it. Come on then."She turned at that and began leading him to the study rooms. Specifically the one the furthest from her room. She picked up a flashlight on the trip and handed it too him before opening up the door. "I doon't have any spar blankets, su yu'll have t' meik due." She bit her lip a bit and sighed, "We'll deal with whether ar not you c'n stay fer good in the marnin."She turned and began to leave before stopping, something having come to mind. "Kep the lights off as mooch as possible, thar are foul sarts about." At that she turned abruptly and went to her room, locking it behind her. Then out of sheer paranoia she pushed the heavy wooden table in front of the door as well. If he was going to try to get in, it wouldn't be easy and it would wake her up. With a deep sigh she settled into bed. For the longest time shelay there not sure of what to do. Her mind was abuzz with how to deal with this guy. Was he safe? Would he be helpful? Was he a good person? What? Well, there wasn't much to be done about the whole thing now. so may as well sleep. Translation:Are you planning to burn the books? Cause if you are, you'll have more than an bat to worry about. You can stay the night in on of the other rooms. But if you try anything, I promise you'll regret it. I don't have any spare blankets, so you'll have to make due. We'll deal with whether of not you can stay for good in the morning. Keep the lights off as much as possible, there are foul sorts about.

Alexander was shocked at how fast everything was going, Alexander started following her when she said that he could stay for the night, Frankly he was glad he could stay indoors for now, Since he knew sleeping outdoors would be a hell of a lot worse. Alexander grabbed the flashlight she handed him and turned it on and scanned everything, There were huge bookcases lined with so many books that Alexander gave up counting at ten. Alexander kept looking around until they neared a room, She told him she didn't have any spare blankets and that he would have to make it work for now. Alexander was a little sad that he would have to sleep in the cold. Alexander looked back at her as she was closing the door, He looked at her and smiled, "Thank you." He said as she closed the door leaving him in the room. He heard the sound of a door locking and a slam up against the door as he assumed she made it extra secure. Alexander pointed his flashlight towards the ground so he wouldn't make it obvious that there were survivors in the library. Alexander began to look around the study room trying to see what he could make into a useful bed. Alexander saw rows and rows of bookcases and shelves, Alexander kept searching until he found a mini janitors closet. The closet had about five mops that all had wooden handles, Hmmm. he mumbled as he looked at everything else, The closet also had a few matches and a empty cigarette box, "I guess he was a smoker." Alexander chuckled as he kept looking. "I think i can make this work." Alexander said as he grabbed all five mops and laid them all on the wooden floor. Alexander then started to pluck all of the mop strings and put them in a pile. "I could use that for a pillow." Alexander said as looked at the wooden handles. "And i could use those sticks for a makeshift spring." Alexander said as he scanned at what he had so far. Alexander then started to look at all the books he had in his room and started to gather every dumb magazine he could find. He then started searching for every children's book. He came across over 500 books in total. He was pleased at how many useless magazines and books he had found. Alexander then began to rip out every page out of every magazine and children's book. He had so many pages he couldn't count them all. Alexander then went to the supply closet and took everything out, Besides the matches. Alexander lined up the five wooden mop handles so that they were straight and evenly spread out. He lined them up from wall to wall. Alexander then got as many pages as he could and places them over the wooden handles. Alexander then placed the mop strings and placed them in a circle kinda fashion where he thought his head would best fit. Alexander looked over at what he had did. "Not bad for a beginner." Alexander said as he took off his black jacket and placed it over everything. Alexander then walked away from the supply closet and looked for a metal pencil case. Which he found since it was a library. Alexander then grabbed a random book and ripped out all the pages and crumpled them up and placed it inside of the metal pencil case. Alexander then went back to the supply closet and placed the metal pencil case where the matches were. He then lit up a match and dropped it inside the metal pencil case. It lit up very dimly which Alexander was happy about. Alexander then closed the door to the supply closet and laid down on his crummy make-shift bed. Alexander then wrapped himself up in his own hoodie and began to fell asleep, But before he did he said, "God, I'm lucky i found this library" After that being said Alexander drifted away asleep.

Location: Baker Library on the MIT Campus Time: 2120 hours - 2127 hours (9.20 P - 9.27 P) Weather: Cloudy and cold, snow-covered ground It was dark and cold. The crushing of snow beneath my shoes filled my ears as Joshua walked the campus. The skeletons of buildings were scattered throughout the landscape, a few lit with faint fires. The stale wind sent a chill down Josh's spine. Movement, of unnatural sorts, made its way into Joshua's view. He was somewhat fearful, yet inquisitive. Josh hid in the shadows laying his gear on the ground next to him as he crouched behind a tree and some shrubbery. Joshua peered over the bushes at the figure sprinting towards the library. The figure made its way up a pipe to the roof, after fiddling with the front doors. He gracefully made his way in through the roof entrance but the door slammed shut behind him. A loud noise rang throughout the area. Josh wondered if any nearby raiders heard the noise. Joshua leaned down and gathered his gear. He sneaked to the library's door to try and continue his surveillance of the undetermined figure. Josh pressed himself upon the window closest to the front door. He slowed his breaths to hear more of the conversation than his panting. LETS MAKE SUM BABIES "--Please can you just put you're bat down." Josh could only hear bits and pieces of the conversation. He figured this much, both parties inside the library were neutrals or maybe even good people. Counting his blessings and saying his last prayer, he grabbed a rock and knocked on the front doors of the library. His only hope, that they hadn't fallen asleep since the conversation had long ended.

Aine hadn't even the time to fall asleep before she heard another loud banging downstairs. Immediately she sat up. Had he brought friends? Had the Raider's heard them? Immediately she pushed the table aside and grabbed her bat, and a spare before unlocking her door and going over to the first guy's door, she'd never actually got his name. Loudly she rapped on his door. "Did yoo breng friends?" Although, part of her figured that if he had they'd have broken open the door by now instead of knocking politely. "If yoor reily on my side, comb downstars with me an' teik the spar bat." She rushed over to her room and dug out a large ring of key's. She knew it was a big risk giving the man a weapon, buit it wasn't like she had much of a choice at the moment. Besides, she was a girl, the wouldn't kill, her she was too...useful and not in the way she wanted to be.She had long since chained all the doors up, the only way out or in was from below. Cautiously, Aine made her way down the stairs, her bat poised in her hands just as she had been when she first found the first guy. Cautiously, she peeked through a small hole she had cut out to act as a peep hole. Out side she saw a dark-skinned man wearing a hoodie and thick rimmed glasses. Keeping the doors firmly shut, Aine called out to the man, "Who are yoo? Are yoo with a gang? I promise yoo, we have the means to protect arselves." That was mostly true, it would be hard task to break in and she had maltov cocktails waiting on the roof if she had to throw them and people below... but she had no guns... it was on her list of things to get. Translations: Did you bring friends? If you're really on my side, come downstairs and take that spare bat. Who are you? Are you with a gang? I promise you we have the means to protect ourselves.

Alexander was sleeping like a baby when he heard a banging on his door, He heard his companion if he had brought friends, Alexander was alarmed at this since he never had any friends since it all happened, Alexander quickly got up and blew out the little dim fire that he had made, Alexander opened the door and stepped out of the closet, He then opened the door of the study room and saw her with two bats, She told him to grab the spare one and follow her downstairs, "Hey, I can assure you I don't have any friends and whoever is down there may not be friendly, So let's be careful." Alexander said as he took the spare bat from her and he saw her run to her room and get some keys. "What are those for?" Alexander said as he followed right behind her, They went downstairs and Alexander saw her run up to a peephole she made and asked the guy some questions. Alexander didn't like this what if they were in danger, He needed to look for escape routs, Alexander noticed that they're were vents, They aren't working anymore so we might be able to use this. Alexander climbed up a bookshelf and looked for a vent with a gate, Alexander started to tug on it and it did not budge, Alexander noticed that they're were rust on the edges of the vent, "Maybe this is what's keeping the vent from opening." Alexander thought, He then started to scrape all the rust away with the bat's head. Alexander finally got it all of and tugged on it once more. The vent came off with ease. Alexander put the the lid back on a little so that it was on but it would be easy to take it off again. Alexander climbed back down and went to his "Friend", "Hey if we need to hide i opened a vent so if anybody comes we can hide in there, Until they leave." Alexander told her as he stood right behind her bat in hand.

A shuffle began to stir within the library. Instantly, Joshua became tense. He didn't know what to expect. The boy heard the talking but couldn't make out a word. He listened closely as the sound came closer to the door and could easily heard. Joshua noticed a greyish-blue eye make its way into a little hole cut through the door, more than likely a peep hole. He glanced at it momentarily as a voice began to speak. Saiytanya "Who are yoo? Are you with a gang? I promise yoo, we have the means to protect arselves." At first the boy was silent. He was amazed to hear another human on the other side of the door, a woman none-the-less. He'd seen other people on his travels since this had all started but it was mostly raiders and gangs, and if he saw a woman she was usually cuffed or wrapped in chains or rope. Joshua forced a smile onto his face, the friendlier he appeared the better. "I'm Josh. I'm not with a gang, I'm not much of a raider either. I saw a figure go into this building. I just want a warm place to sleep and a little companionship if it's stock." He managed a slight chuckle before the cold made him shiver. His teeth chattered as he awaited reply. It seemed as though the cold was now more intense. A Northern wind was picking up, it was going to be a cold one tonight. Josh was well packed but not for a blizzard. He had barely survived last winter. Joshua pushed his glasses to his face and exhaled into his hands trying to muster a wee spout of warmth.

[ Aine listened to the man speak, a suspicious look in her eyes. She couldn't believe the night she was having. First someone sneaks in from above and now another someone was at her door. She just wanted to sleep in peace. She was terrified right now, one man would be hard enough to deal with, let alone having to deal with two. What if they decided to work together and hurt her? No, no, not everyone was like that, she had to give them a chance, she'd just have to make it perfectly clear that she was in charge of what happened to her and that she'd hurt anyone that said otherwise. At the guy inside's word's she looked at him, "Liek hell I'm gonna hied, I'm protecting these books. Thar not firewood or something to to just destroy. Thar a part of what humanity wos and coold be agien." She was very adament about that. Humanity would recover, and she was determined to make sure these book remained safe to help with that recovery. Engineering was one of the most vital skills, it could produce electriciy, clean water, and security. She wasn't about to just hide and let people destory the books that held their knowledge. "I've got mole-tov cocktails on the roof it et combs doun to et." She told him, then continued, "Goh to the seecand level and pake through the windows, cheek the parimeter. Meik sure there's no one else out thar. I doon't want to open the dars to a flud geit of thoogs."Then she looked back at the guy at the door, "And yool not be geiting any of an inaproopriate companionshep from me. Oil nootar yoo befar that heppens." She knew the guy probably hadn't meant what she was implying he had meant, but it was all a part of making sure the guys' understood where she stood in everything. She was determined to keep control, if not of everything, than at least of herself and what happened to her. Translations: Like hell I'm going to hide. I'm protecting these books. There not firewood or something to just distroy. There a part of what humanity was, and could be again. I've got maltov cocktails in the roof it it comes down to it. Go to the second level and peek through the windows, check the perimeter. Make sure there's no one else out there. I don't want to open the doors to a flood gate of thugs. And you'll not be getting any of an inappropriate companionship from me. I'll neuter you before that happens.

His tears would freeze instantaneously and become ice crystals upon his face. Josh tried to hold them back and continued to plea. "Please just let me in, I'll stay for the night and be on my way. Please..."The boy trailed off again. He was a very emotional person. A cold, harsh wind blew pass the library. The howling sounds filled the void that was once a prestigious college campus. Joshua was cold, frightened, and pleading for his life. There was no way he could survive that night, with the supplies he had. He looked at the woman in the peep hole. His eyes red and glossy as tears began to swell his sockets. Josh wrinkled his nose and sniffed. A slight cold too, they were his arch nemesis before and after the apocalypse. He wiped his eyes and sniffed once again.

Alexander did what she said, He went running upstairs and looked outside from a peephole that his companion surely made, He saw nobody but that one guy. "He's crying." Alexander said as he snickered at the thought of a grown man crying." Alexander started to walk back, Alexander stopped dead in his tracks when he noticed that he was being ordered around. "I don't like being ordered around like I'm nothing." Alexander said as he went back downstairs and went up to his friend. "Nobody is out there except for the crybaby." Alexander said as he looked at her. "Oh yeah, Just to let you know I don't like being ordered around, I'm not good at it nor do i like it. So just chill ok?" Alexander said as he looked at her. Alexander stood right next to the door and waited, "Whenever you're ready to open the door i will hide right here so he can't see me, And then once he steps in i'll come from behind him and we will tell him to drop his weapons." Alexander said to his friend very softly so he couldn't hear what he said.
