Far-Off perched on his horns like an eager captain at the prow of her vessel, exploring the unknown. ... Or at least Brilliant Star imagined she was excited or curious, or feeling some emotion at the sight of the swamp. He certainly found it enjoyable to explore the new place, and, well, rather liked to pretend that his strange companion felt the same way. She rarely let on how she felt, but the acha took it as a good sign that she would periodically fly from his horns to drink from a flower or to investigate leaves more closely. The problem was that Brilliant Star loved to wander, but Far-Off had started constructing a bed of chewed paper on a leaf the previous night. And, well, it was still before noon but the acha was not sure he remembered how to get back to his wasp's chosen place of residence. He wanted to keep her happy (or what he could pretend was "happy" for a creature with no face), and so he mulled over the problem in his mind quietly while he went on wandering with Far-Off, trying to give no sign that he had not the foggiest idea how to return her to her nest.
If only he had a guide....
