A little personal history:
Growing up in the Enchanted Forest was not horrible, not in the least. True his mother had left him when he was a young child. True there was a war on. But he had a father who cared about him. The day before his 14th birthday the draft age was lowered to 14 once more and he watched his friend Morraine being taken by Hordor's men to the battle field. That night his father tried to take him and run. His father was a veteran of war and was only trying to protect him from the violence. This was the reason his father became the Dark One, to protect him. The Dark One ended the Orge War in order to keep his son from joining the ranks of the dead. Bae learned years later everything he had disliked his father for back in the Enchanted Forest was done out of love for him.
A few years later the Dark One kept harming other in order to protect Bae, and he did not like this. So he made his father deal, that stated if he could find a way to reverse the curse without harming himself or killing his father that Rumplestiltskin must let him. Well, he succeeded in finding a way to get rid of his father's dark powers, a magic bean. The bean was given to him by the Blue Fairy who told him that it would take them to a new world without magic. When Bae told his father what he had discovered the Dark One refused to go with him. He was afraid of losing his powers, but instead that day he lost his son. Bae used the bean thinking, and hoping, his father would follow behind him into the new world. But alas the Dark One did not, and Bae was left alone in this new world.
He had landed in the middle of a forest but it was not one he recognized. He must truly be in this new world that the Blue Fairy had promised. Alone in the woods he glanced around still confused at his situation. Wishing his father was with him, Bae started to try to find his way out of the forest. It took his hours before he found a road, and the road he found was not like the ones back home. This new world was very different. He was soon found by the side of the road by a police officer who brought his to Social Services. He spent the rest of his teen years in a group home, learning quite a bit about this world. He refused to speak of his past to anyone, also he refused to become close to anyone during his time at the group home. Trust was a problem for him after his father had broken his promise.
Upon turning eighteen Bae entered the world for the first time as an adult. He ended up in the country working for an older couple, the Williams, on their farm just outside of Boston, Maine. They needed the help since their only child was a young woman, Rachel, who would rather spend her days with her head in a science or math textbook. Bae loved the work and became very close to the family he worked for. A few years past on the farm when Bae and Rachel started dating. One thing led to another and a few years later they were married. Their only child, Neil, was born a few years later right after the death of Mrs. Williams. Mr. Williams soon followed his wife into death leaving the farm to Bae and Rachel.
Life seemed normal for years, besides one event when Neil was young. Bae felt something was wrong, almost like he knew something was happening. He could feel something entering their world. At the time he had no idea what was wrong, but later he would find out. Neil grew up just like any other child in this world seemed to. He grew up hearing the fairy tales his father knew so well and he grew up loved. At the age of eighteen Neil left to find his own way in life, which didn't bother Bae as much as it did his wife. Occasionally they would hear from their son.
Almost exactly twenty-eight years since the first time Bae felt something was wrong it happened again. But this time was different, he could feel joy returning. Almost like a memory, he could remember his days in the forest much clearer then he had in years. Something powerful had found its way into this world, and he was going to find out what it was. Bae knew he needed to find out what was going on, so he packed a bag and got ready to find out. He promised Rachel he would return and that he would call every night to check on her. Rachel knew about Bae's past, and she accepted that her husband was not from this world, which was why she let him go without much of a question. Bae drove for what seemed like hours, his gut leading the way, before arriving at a small town. He had found Storybrooke and crossed the town-line.
Roleplay Sample: Something was strange about this Storybrooke but Baelfire couldn't figure out what exactly it could be. He kept driving further into town. Everything seemed normal, it looked like so many towns he had driven through before this. And yet something was different, but that something wasn't something you could see. He could feel it though, it was almost like there was magic here. But that. No. That was impossible, wasn't it? That was why he had come here all those years ago. He came here because it was free of magic. Something was wrong with this imagine. He needed to figure out why there was magic here. That was the one thing that he had hated so much from his previous life. The magic. It had cost him his father, and somewhere deep inside he could tell it was the reason he lost his mother in the end. Magic only harmed. He had never seen magic do any good. Someone had to remove it from this world, and he was sure he was the one to do so.
But before he could do anything about the situation he would have to park somewhere. It wasn't long before he had pulled up along the curb, putting the car into park. Removing the keys he climbed out of his car before locking the doors to his car. He put the keys safely into his pocket before taking a look around him. This must be main street for the town for there were shops and a small restaurant. He could see a clock tower which looked like it sat on top of the library roof. There was Granny's Diner as well as her Bed and Breakfast (which he had to remember for later just in case.) He could also see Gold's Pawn Shop as well as a Game of Thorns truck along the road.
Gold's? Could be a common enough name, and pawn shops are often found in small towns. Something about that store bothered him slightly. But since as his stomach was trying to remind him he hadn't eaten in a while, which meant food first. Then to figure out the source of magic. What better place to eat then Granny's?
It wasn't a long walk from his car so it wasn't much time before the bell rang as he entered the diner. It was a quaint little place, and very homey. He couldn't help but smile, he was pretty sure that Rachel would enjoy a dinner here. But that was for some other time. He took a seat at the counter while waiting for the waitress came with a menu. It was strange, but it seemed like everyone was staring at him, though. It was almost as if they had never seen a stranger in their lives.
(Adding dialogue is difficult when there is no one else around... xP heart )
