One of the developers working on Towns 2 has confirmed that zipcodes are being phased out, and they "will add a lot of new features". "We want everyone to see it as we build it, and provide feedback."This can be found here. Second to last post.

That's a**, though. How would we meet up with friends? How would we create places to make new friends?

Princess Mi Amore Cadenza That's a**, though. How would we meet up with friends? How would we create places to make new friends? Indeed, it's with great resentment on how this has turned out Bc I wish they did not take such thing out, due to the fact that ONE server will be over crowded as ******** which will make major as lag .-.

If there are no more Zips, then how are we going to be able to keep track of which towns are which? I mean, if we want to meet up with a certain person, people can just storm in on the people that are talking, and they'd just annoy them to death.

You couldn't even talk to eachother through the chatbox. Since there would be tons of people shoved in a room, there would be tons of chatting, which would mean that the texts would go through so fast you couldn't even see the person's reply.

If they put through with this idea and work with layers like in zOMG they better make it possible to swap layers like on there- where you click the blue bubble to move to your friend's location.

*sigh* I have so many friends quitting because of this specific decision Gaia has made.
Many of my friends only went into Towns 1 and loved it.
We all loved cosplaying and dressing up our avatars and just hanging out. I really don't like the Towns 2 but I already know that there's no hope in saving the original Towns. Hence over half of my friends quitting Gaia...
They better add some way to add/invite users to a specific layer or area in this Towns 2 or I'll just go back to RP guilds.

There's an option to buy a district. It allows the buyer to let certain people join that area and build houses. You can buy a lot for your friends and only they can join. If more people want to come, you can allow them to. Also, they are adding an option in Gaia Towns where you can find your friends. I asked one of the developers about it, saying if there will be some kind of arrow on your screen pointing to your friends, like in a video game. He replied yes.

Maybe I can convince some of my friends not to quit with this new information. I wonder how much the districts will cost.

I'm glad that you guys made a guild to regroup everyone together and figure out how to go about the new Towns.

If this district idea goes into play, I'd gladly donate as much of my gold as I can for everyone to have a new District of Ctown as well as their own homes. ^ ^

This is what the developer said: "You can have your own neighborhood, it won't cost anything. There are spots for six houses and there will be a way to invite people from your friend list to live there." Me: Do you have to invite them all the time, or if like..once they've been to your neighborhood once, they can come anytime they want? Dev: "They can come anytime they want, but you can always withdraw the invite and give it to someone else, or kick someone out later." Me: And what about people that are not in your friends list? They can't join without an invite? Because I'm trying to bring people I don't really know that visit the same zip code in Towns 1 all back into one place without making them worry about having to add me, or join a guild, or waiting for an invite or whatever. Dev: "You can only invite friends to live in your neighborhood, but anyone can visit."
