SKAG
_______
Skag Pups are the earliest skags encountered in the game. They are relatively weak and are little more than a nuisance to all but the lowest level character. They can occasionally flank when the player is focusing on other skags. They attack by leaping forward short distances with their mouth open, by biting at their prey, and lashing out with their tongues.
Annoyed Pup Skag
Colicy Skag
Skag Whelp
Skag Whelps are very easy to kill, being only one step up from a skag pup. They attack almost exactly like the Skag Pup except their tongue has a longer reach and their leaping attack causes minor knock back effects.
Their armored sections reduce all bullet and melee damage by half.
Angry Skag Whelp
Querulous Skag Whelp
Adult Skag
Adult Skags are the first truly dangerous breed a player will encounter. While whelps and pups can be a problem when grouped, adults are a threat even when alone. Adult skags can leap long distances to deliver significant damage, and are capable of knocking back prey. Adult skags have been known to charge, and this attack deals even more damage, and causes even stronger knock back than the leaping attack. They are also capable of tongue-whipping to inflict damage as well.
Feral Skag
Bestial Skag
Spitter Skag
Spitter Skags are a rangy, smaller form of Skag compared to an adult. They have a dark green coloring and an annoying tendency to hang back and spit globs of caustic spit while other skags in the pack attack at close range. They will also bite and tongue-whip when alone. As they are smaller, they have lower health than Adult Skags and while in-game information says otherwise, they are no more vulnerable to melee attacks than bullets.
Hawking Skag
Sputum Skag
Elder Skag
Elder Skags are the pinnacle of the regular Skag breeds, with more muscle and agility than an adult, and a more damaging projectile than a spitter. Though these Skags can leap, they rarely do, preferring instead to either find range and lob acid at their enemies, or line up a charge attack, or sweeping lash of their tremendously long tongues. They will also swipe their claws at prey that gets too close.
Hulking Elder Skag
Stalwart Elder Skag
Alpha Skag
Alpha Skags are some of the largest skags that can be found and are covered in thick armor. The armor is tough enough that not even sustained sprays by Combat Rifles or Shotguns will take much of a dent out of their health bar. Alpha Skags can leap an incredible distance, and though they sometimes employ a strong tongue-whip attack, they are more fond of charging at their prey for heavy damage. They will also stalk forward and swipe at targets with their claws, and this is also exceptionally deadly.
For the reasons of their armor and damaging attacks, special tactics need to be used. When beginning a charge the Alpha Skag will retreat away from their target to increase the charge distance. This provides the opportune moment to attack the skag. Following it and shooting at the lightly-armored hind legs while it retreats will cause it to stumble as it tries to regain its footing, rendering the skag largely harmless for a brief period. Repetitive shots to the hind legs using an assault rifle or SMG will take out the skag while keeping it in this staggered state. This “kicking it while it’s down” tactic is an effective method of taking down the Alpha Skag with little effort.
Another tactic that can be used is to face the alpha head-on to counter their charge. Because alphas move very quickly while charging, running away or jumping to the side will often not be enough to evade the attack. Instead, a player can stand his ground and open fire as it charges, then run forward and jump as it nears. This will cause the character to land on top of the alpha. As the alpha is moving, the character will end up dropping off its back, providing opportunities to shoot or melee it from the flank. Having missed with its charge, the alpha will continue running away. Because it takes time and space to turn around, a player can fire at the maneuvering alpha while getting ready to meet its next charge. This method can also be used against Badass Alpha Skags.
Alpha Skags are also quite vulnerable to the more powerful fire-based Maliwan weapons. Hosing an Alpha Skag with incendiary damage can completely immerse it in fire, sometimes causing it to become disoriented and unable to track targets and allowing players to find cover. This can be particularly effective when encountering Alpha Skags in large groups such as in the Lost Cave.

Armored Alpha Skag
Badass Skag
Badass Skags are tough opponents, with high health, significant damage reduction, and powerful attacks. Additionally, all Badass Skags employ a body slam against the ground that creates an area-of-effect shock wave with a knockback effect and even an elemental effect if the Skag has an element type.
There are three basic kinds of Badass Skags in the game: A Skag that looks very similar to an Adult Skag, but is slightly larger than an Alpha, a lean, spiny range-attacking type similar to Elder Skags, and the rarer, hulking, rounded, bull-like Alpha type that focuses more on close quarter combat. While both are named “Badasses” in the game, the latter will also display “Alpha” in their nameplate while being as armoured, massive and tough as non-elite Alpha Skags.
All Badass Skags are further divided into either elemental (Corrosive, Incendiary or Shock) or non-elemental types. Elemental Badass Skags attack mostly from medium range by spitting elemental attacks at their targets. A short ranged spray of fire over a wide area; a single arcing bolt of electricity that bursts and causes splash damage on impact; or a medium ranged stream of acid that deals a lot of damage in seconds. They will try to stay away from close combat, retreating if enemies get too close. When defeated, they have a chance to drop an Artifact related to their element.
Similarly, Badass Alphas also come in elemental types but no non-elemental Badass Alpha Skag exists. These elite Alpha Skags prefer to engage at close range. They often charge at the player, running into them like a bull to inflict heavy damage while knocking them back. They will also viciously claw at their target while near. Their breath attacks are sustained, harder-hitting and more direct versions of those used by the Elder-like Badass Skags. These Badass Alphas also drop Artifacts based on their element.
Non-elemental Badass Skags are unique among all skags for having glowing blue eyes and a stark black-gray coloration on their hides and black armor plates. Lacking an elemental effect for ranged attacks, they are likely to engage a player in close combat. Instead of being called “SuperBad” after Playthrough 2, they are unique in being identified as “AssKicking” by the game, whether “AssKicking Skag” or “AssKicking Alpha Skag”. These stone-colored skags drop Explosive Artifacts.
All types of elemental badass skags have the ability to grant elemental powers to other skags. They now come in slag in addition the original three elements.
Their armored sections reduce all bullet and melee damage by three quarters or so. Skags will not charge what they cannot reach.
Badmutha Skag
SuperBad or Asskicking Skag
Barf Skag
A Barf Skag will use a mid-ranged attack similar to a Defiler (enemy), but if approached at close range will sometimes resort to a standard Skag Melee attack. They have health roughly equivalent to an Elder Skag.
Chubby Skag
Chubby Skags are very rare spawning skags. They are very tough to take down, having more or less the health of a badass, and around the same attack power. These skags have a high chance of dropping loot and killing one unlocks the achievement "Cute Loot".
Rabid Skag
Rabid Skags can be identified by their lighter skin tone and their signature fast paced sprinting animation. Rabid Skags are much, much tougher variants of normal Skags, only outmatched by Badasses in their hitpoints and attack strength that can easily destroy shields and knock down health in just a few hits at higher levels. They have a habit of repeatedly ramming a target instead of just following unlike most skaggs.
Horned Skag
Horned Skags are easily recognized by their green heads and large horns. They are about the same as regular skags, but will often rut the dirt with their front paws before peforming a flying charge that deals damage and knock back upon impact.
Horned Pup Skag
RAKK
________
Rakk
Relentless Rakk
Vindictive Rakk
The common Rakk (or just Rakk) is dark brown with bright orange markings on its head, tail, and wings. The most regularly encountered type, the common Rakk can normally be seen circling in the sky waiting for something to blunder into the territory of its flock. Sometimes they can also be seen hanging upside down, preening itself with its rasp-covered mouth.
Rakk do not drop anything when they die.
Feeder Rakk
Forager Rakk
Cultivator Rakk
Feeder Rakk are bluish white with slightly darker blue splotch-stripes running down the length of their fat lower bodies and tails. Like common Rakk they are most often encountered either circling in the sky, or hanging upside down.
Feeder Rakk often drop cash and ammo when they die, and sometimes they'll drop Orb Shields. For this reason, it's best to wait before swatting down Feeder Rakk so their items can be easily picked up. Rarely they can come in three's in a Rakk Swarm.
Bloated Rakk
Distended Rakk
Tumescent Rakk
Bloated Rakk are easily identified by their large size and brightly acidic-green color and lemon-yellow markings. Bloated Rakk are rarely encountered out and in the open, making their appearance usually when the hive is threatened or the flock is called.
Bloated Rakk, like Feeder Rakk, will drop items when they die. Almost without fail they will give up large amounts of cash, while occasionally they will drop orb shields and Weapons, and very rarely they will drop Class Mods. They should be prioritized even more carefully than Feeder Rakk because of the loot they can drop.
Badass Corrosive Rakk
Badass elemental Rakk come in the usual array of fire, shock, and corrosive and like all Badass enemies, these creatures have a high amount of health. Unlike regular varieties of Rakk, Badass Rakk will swoop down near their prey, and begin bombardment with an elemental projectile instead of using the normal dive and slash attack pattern. The power of these elemental attacks combined with the high amount of health and supreme manueverability afforded these flying monstrosities make them extremely dangerous, especially the fire and shock types.
BULLYMONG
_____________
Adult Bullymong - Fully grown bullymongs that employ melee attacks, long distance projectile flinging and long distance jumps towards the player. Are more incline to punching and jumping at a player than throwing rocks.
Bedrock Bullymong - Fully-grown bullymongs with rock-hard skin, resistant to damage.
Brat Bullymong - Juvenile bullymongs
Bullymong Slinger - Fully developed bullymongs which usually keep their distance, flinging projectiles toward targets. Will often back away from a player rather than punching them.
Monglet - Young bullymongs without fully developed legs
Bullyrott - Corrosive-element bullymong, performs a ground slam attack that has a large radius.
Demong - head and shoulders stronger than most Bullymongs, deal fire damage and attack in groups.
A Badass and super badass version of a bullymong is known to exist, simply referred to as a Badass or super badass Bullymong.
SPIDERANTS
_______________
Spiderantling
Spiderantlings are the smallest and least dangerous of the Spiderant creatures. They are most likely baby or freshly hatched Spiderants, as their underdeveloped heads and forelimbs lack effective armor. Interestingly, this breed doesn't suffer critical damage to the abdomen, but this doesn't mean much as they are inherently weak and fragile. They have a tan coloring similar to Worker Spiderants, but are slightly darker and have a kind of "wet and fresh" sheen to their carapace sections. They attack by leaping, but will also run up to a player and swipe with one of their legs.
They are little more than a nuisance to most and any weapon, or even a couple of melee strikes, can dispatch these tiny beasties in short order. Rocket Launchers are especially fun to open up with on groups.
Skittish Spiderantling
Agitated Spiderantling
Worker Spiderant
Worker Spiderants can be distinguished by their tan armor. They are a little bigger than Spiderantlings, and their abdomen is slightly bigger than their heads. Worker Spiderants attack by aggressively leaping at the player and striking with their sharp forelimbs when close. Both of these attacks deal little damage, but they can knock the player back and interfere with their shots.
Worker Spiderants are rather sluggish and a quick player can use this to their advantage by zipping forward and then strafing the abdomen.
Spiderant Toiler
Spiderant Slave
Gyro Spiderant
Gyro Spiderants can be distinguished by the strong blue color of their carapace, tiny abdomen, and frightening speed. This type of Spiderant leaps, slashes, and also uses a highly damaging rolling tackle. Out of all the Spiderant breeds, this can be the most difficult to take on as they can outrun a player when sprinting and then leap onto their backs or roll over to knock a sizable portion off their shield. They also have keen reflexes, and can quickly pick up and deliver a rapid string of attacks to anything in front of them.
Like with Workers, its best to try and get behind this blue dervish after it leaps at the player. Not only will this put the abdomen into one's crosshairs, but it will also delay the creature as it tries to lock back onto its target.
Spiderant Beetle
Spiderant Vermin
Soldier Spiderant
Soldier Spiderants can be distinguished by their light-blue carapace, large head, and tiny abdomen. Slightly bigger than the Worker, Soldiers are slow-moving ranged attackers that will only use melee against a player when the player is close. They tend to favor hanging back and launching volleys of white, glistening sacs from their abdomen in groups of 3-5, and larger single globs that bounce along the ground and explode like grenades.
Despite the apparently small size of their abdomen, Soldier Spiderants are ludicrously easy to score critical hits off of, even when being taken from the front. All one needs is a Shotgun with a big magazine, or a highly accurate assault rifle-style Combat Rifle. If a player aims just at the top of the head-ridge, they can get critical hits to the abdomen because the top of the abdomen pokes out just above the head.
Spiderant Warrior
Spiderant Slayer
Queen Spiderant
Queen Spiderants are very large Spiderants. They can be distinguished by their large size and bluish coloring. While they will slash with their large scything talons at times, they prefer to hang back and shoot volleys of large, powerful white projectiles. The larger, delayed-blast projectiles from these mighty matriarchs have been known to instantly cripple a Vault Hunter otherwise distracted by other Spiderants. Their abdomens are huge in comparison to their heads allowing for easy criticals.
Spiderant Matriarch,
Queen Mother Spiderant
King Spiderant
King Spiderants are huge Spiderants with a pale brown coloring similar to the Worker. While similar in size to Queen Spiderants, they have larger heads and small, relatively well protected abdomens. Kings attack exactly like Workers do, except they can leap longer distances, and they are more damaging. Rarely will they shoot volleys of large whitish exploding sacks, which is fortunate as they can be excessively damaging and hard to avoid.
Spiderant Overlord
Spiderant Emperor
Badass Spiderant Burner
Fire Spiderants like to fight from medium range, using a powerful incendiary version of the projectile attack used by the Soldier Spiderants. They occasionally fight up close, but they're much more likely to stay at range. They can perform an attack like a Spiderant Gyro. Fortunately, they have reflexes of a Worker up close, and a massive, vulnerable abdomen.
Badmutha Incinerator
Superbad Cremator
Badass Spiderant Zapper
Shock Spiderants like to fight up close and personal, and can easily do plenty of damage to your shields using an area-effect shockwave attack that also possess a knock back effect. Zappers also have an electrical/shock version of the projectile attack that is fairly weak. Their abdomen is one of the smallest in proportion to the head compared to other Badass Spiderants, making it harder to hit. Although you can achieve criticals by aiming at its "crown" similarly to soldier spiderants.
Badmutha Shocker
Superbad Fulminator
Badass Spiderant Corruptor
Corrosive Spiderants like to fight from a distance, using volleys of corrosive needle-like projectiles fired from their abdomens. Their elemental attacks pose less threat than their incendiary and shock cousins, but the corrosive damage they deal can soften up a Vault Hunter for attacks by other Spiderants, especially Soldiers.
Badmutha Infector
Superbad Desecrator
CRYSTALISK
______________
Volatile Crystalisk
These are the most common form of crystalisk found on Pandora and are, aside from Blue, the strongest and toughest. Also, when two of their leg crystals are destroyed, they will actively try to hide their remaining critical location by turning away from their assailant.
Mini Crystalisk
Essentially these are young crystalisk who have not yet developed fully and as such, they are much weaker (and rarer) than the adult crystalisks. They attack by getting in close and doing a ground pound or self-destruct in a large explosion that deals heavy splash damage to everything nearby.
Volcanic Crystalisk
They are only encountered in the Vault of The Warrior, emerging from lava from time to time. Their defense and attack are both weaker than ordinary crystalisks at the same level, and destroying the crystals on two of its legs is enough to "kill it", instead of all three. This is due to when the second set of leg crystals are destroyed, they bury themselves in the ground and blow up. They can be dangerous if the explosive crystals they launch go unnoticed during the fight against The Warrior.
VARKID
________
Larval Varkid - The lowest and weakest form of varkid. They attack by quickly skittering up to their enemies and scratching/biting them or by leaping or flying at them. Unless they are in a very large group, they are little more than a nuisance and can be easily dispatched with one or two melee attacks.
Blood Varkid - Not another stage of varkid evolution, but rather a stronger variation of the Larval Varkid that randomly appear in the True Vault Hunter Mode along side the normal varkid groups. They are completely identical aside from their increased health, damage, and red coloring. The Blood Varkid will morph to the Adult Varkid, just as the Larval.
Adult Varkid - The second stage in the varkid chain yields a much larger, stronger and more resilient foe. Adult varkids possess larger wings that allows them to take to the air and rain down acidic spit on their enemies or move to different locations. Their wings can be shot off with enough gunfire, and they have a critical hit location on their abdomen. On the ground they can strike with a more powerful melee attack. Fought one-on-one, they don't pose too much of a threat. Although their acid spit attack can inflict a corrosive status, they are not resistant to corrosion weapons.
Badasses
Badass Varkid - The third step in the varkid chain. Badass Varkids are large, tough and very powerful foes. Despite having wings, they prefer to stay on the ground and attack their enemies at close range. They also possess the ability to perform a powerful charging attack that is very difficult to avoid. Badass Varkids can utilize a spit attack, but this is rarely used if the target is exposed. Furthermore, Badass Varkids possess armored carapaces that reduce damage; Corrosive weapons are especially effective against them.
Chubby Varkid - The Chubby Varkid is an oversized Larval Varkid that has a small chance to spawn from a Varkid Nest and super badass pod . They are best taken out from a distance as they have the ability to inflict a lot of damage. Chubby Varkids have their own loot pool, as they have a chance to drop Tediore's Legendary rocket launcher, Bunny or Dahl's Legendary shield, Whisky Tango Foxtrot.
Mutated Badass Varkid - This varkid is only found during the mission Mighty Morphin'. They have similar behaviour to Adult Varkids but with massively increased damage and health. The only way these are found is when a larval varkid makes an adult pod which players can interact with. Unlike all other Varkids, they are practically immune to corrosive damage.
Super Badass Varkid - The fourth step in the varkid chain. Super Badass Varkids are not armored and are vulnerable to incendiary weaponry. Instead of firing a single glob from their abdomen, they fire volleys of 6-8 shots. They prefer to stay on the ground, and may also tunnel into the ground, then emerge to fire more glob volleys.
Ultimate Badass Varkid - These huge mosquito-like Varkids are the final step in the varkid chain before Vermivorous. Their attacks include a volley of 6-8 suicide varkids and a spit attack with three or four globs per attack.
THRESHERS
__________
Thresher
Threshers are the most basic type of threshers. They are only known to appear in the Natural Selection Annex. Oddly enough, despite being the basic enemy type, standard threshers have a more complex attack pattern than the Tadpole, Wormhole, and Feeler Threshers. Not only do they possess a variety of melee attacks, but they often burrow and summon several melee, or ranged-oriented, tentacles which can be killed individually without damaging the thresher.
Tadpole Thresher
Tadpole Threshers are the youngest type of thresher. They are also the weakest. They can attack by flinging spikes from a pair of tentacles, or lashing at a nearby enemy. They are capable of erupting from the ground, traveling in a long arc to land somewhere else, or of simply burrowing through the ground. While burrowing, they are occasionally visible above-ground, and can be attacked at that time; while wholly submerged, they cannot be attacked.
Slagged Thresher
Slagged Threshers are slightly larger than Tadpole Threshers, and operate very similarly to them. Attacks from a Slagged Thresher may cover a target in Slag. Players cannot inflict Slag upon a Slagged Thresher, and they are resistant to damage from slagged weapons as well.
Wormhole Thresher
Wormhole Threshers are also slightly larger than Tadpole Threshers. This variant of thresher can summon a gravitational field that drags a target towards it. While doing this, Wormhole Threshers deploy a number of spikes all over their bodies, so that the prey being pulled towards them will take constant damage while in contact, until they either break free or weaken the Wormhole Thresher such that it breaks off its attack. They can also attack as Tadpole Threshers.
Black Hole Threshers.
Feeler Thresher
A somewhat larger variety of thresher, Feeler Threshers attack primarily by driving their tentacles into the ground, sending them burrowing towards their prey and impaling them from below. While this makes them substantially slower to attack than Tadpoles, their attack also does significantly more damage and is harder to dodge, as it is a homing attack rather than flying in a set arc.
Turf Thresher
The largest of the standard Threshers, Turf Threshers appear to have manes, possibly made of vegetation or fungus. Where most Threshers attack with only a pair of tentacles, Turf Threshers will deploy a large number of them, each flinging spikes at their targets. Individual tentacles can be neutralized by shooting a node roughly halfway along the exposed portion, and doing so will deal a measure of damage to the Turf Thresher as well. While not usually a major threat individually, Turf Threshers do present a substantial barrier to navigation, and in numbers or when combined with other creatures, their near-incessant barrage of attacks can whittle prey down.
Badass Pyre Thresher
Badass Pyre Threshers are flaming Threshers even larger than Turf Threshers. They attack in a similar manner to Turf Threshers, but with fire-elemental attacks, as well as causing a fire nova when surfacing and resurfacing, which causes massive damage across a remarkably large radius. Badass Pyre Threshers will use this burrow attack quite often and it is often more than enough to shatter a character's shield and deal damage as well, making them difficult to fight solo. They are, of course, also resistant to fire.
STALKERS
___________
Spring Stalker
Ambush Stalker
Cyclone Stalker: Will occasionally begin to spin rapidly while moving towards the target, capable of doing very heavy damage.
Needle Stalker: Will tend to stay away from its target and will shoot needle like spike at out of its tail at it.
Nitro Stalker: Lobs explosive spikes that explode after a delay.
Slagged Stalker
Flash Stalker
Rabid Stalker: Behaves similar to the Rabid Skag, repeatedly bites target, similar health and damage to a badass.

Chubby Stalker
