Gabriella Lillian Jacobs
General Information
Full Name: Gabriella Lillian Jacobs
Alias(es): Abby, Peaches.
Gender: Female
Age: Fourteen
Date of Birth: December 6, 1997
Marital Status: Single. Gabriella hasn't really had a boyfriend before and all previous dates with boys who weren't her brother went badly.
Current Home: A beached cruise liner in Moore Haven, Florida. Living with her brother, Tad Jacobs.
Occupation: Part-time artist! She started off selling traditionally colored sketches when she was twelve. When she had enough saved up, she bought herself a computer, downloaded GIMP and from then on she was able to offer digital art and paintings. Before the apocalypse, Abby was making quite a name for herself within the online art community.
Affiliations: Her beloved older brother; Thaddeus Erin Jacobs. He's more like a father to her than a brother, but technically she perceives him to be both.
Appearance: Standing at a height of five feet and three and a quarter inches tall, Abby's more or less reached her adult height. Petite. Slim build, very lanky she's sort of an awkward variety of thin. Not at all athletic. Fingers and toes are short, almost stubby in appearance. Nails are kept clean and are rarely painted. Her eyes are light grey with a greenish hue to them. Eyes are medium-large in size and are hooded in shape. Face is square in shape, cheeks are flat and cheekbones are low. Her cranium is large, forehead wide and her eyebrows grow in naturally as sort of harsh or villainous-appearing arches. Mouth is small, lips are full but not overly so. Arch on her upper lip is well-defined and her lower lip is visibly larger than her lower lip. The corners of her mouth are also full, which gives her lips a bit of a doll-like quality.
Her hair is a deep, charcoal black color and is naturally straight. Hair is just a little longer than shoulder length, bangs are cut to hide her forehead and extend over her eyebrows. Hair is usually pulled back or left loose to fluff out. Skin is Caucasian, she tans easily but most of the time her skin is a pasty sort of I-stay-indoors-or-in-the-shade-all-of-the-time pale. Has a few freckles here and there, the only one on her face being on her upper right eyelid.
She has the classic two earlobe piercings along with just one additional piercing above, one her right side. The second, unmatched piercing is usually occupied with a little black spike earring.
Despite being an artist, Abby isn't a very fashionable person at heart. She dresses herself plainly in t-shirts and jeans. Dislikes skirts and is insecure when even imagining herself wearing a dress. She's very fond of "borrowing" her brother's clothes instead of using her own. Likes to wear platform anything, so she can be at an even height with her brother. Prefers big, thick, heavy and non-cute platformed goth-style boots. Owns a leather jacket to match with her older brother.
About Me
Personality: In general, Abby's a shy young woman. She's uncomfortable in a crowd and prefers interaction with other people so long as there's a computer screen between them. She's easily startled and easily scared. If someone were to surprise her with something scary, the fear would stay with her for a while even though she knows that there's no threat. Although her family situation was troubled, she's never really suffered as a result and as a result her somewhat spoiled raising shows. She's oblivious and naive when it comes to the boundaries one does not cross and the dangers of certain things. Abby's greatest weakness is her cowardice. If put in a situation where she must fight in order to protect herself or her life, she wouldn't be able to overcome her fear. She has trouble forming bonds and is overly sensitive when it comes to rejection. She has no problem with cutting ties. Stubborn, ambitious and very, very creative. Blushes easily.
Her strongest moments are always when she's around her brother as he's the only person she really feels secure around. If she were to behave the way she normally does when she's not around her brother, when she's around him then she believes it'd be damaging for her brother's image. When around her brother she is almost carefree and is very much a normal, happy teenager. When inspiration hits her or something catches her interest, she'll become consumed with a desire to understand it until she satisfies her curiosity. She's also very clumsy and socially and physically awkward as a result. Has a strong moral compass. She's bad with words and even worse when it comes to lying. Easy to read and emotionally closed off. Is not at all fond of cold weather or hugs that last too long. Scared, distrustful of men. Despite dating, being so close to her brother all of the time, and her past unpleasant experience, she's largely clueless about men as well.
Very fond of sweet things, though she has a weak stomach and easily gets nauseous.
Family Relations:
(Paternal) Mother, Cassandra Jacobs (Deceased)
(Older) Brother, Thaddeus Erin Jacobs
(Paternal) Aunt, Tracy Jacobs-Smith
Cousins, David, Daniel, Denise, and Darla Smith (Deceased)
Other Significant People: The apocalypse destroyed most technology, so in essence all of her friends are dead since she only had internet friends.
Their Story: Gabriella grew up emotionally stunted. Born to a single, unwed and technically unemployed mother; Abby's future initially was an unhappy and unpromising one. From the time that she was a baby, she was mostly raised by her older brother. He'd fed her formula, change her diapers, burp her, wash her clothing and even taught her the basics. Her first steps, first time rolling over and her first smiles and laughs were in his presence, not their mother's. The one who woke up at night to take care of her was her five year old brother. Her first word was even "Tadie". She had very little interaction with her mother and as a result she didn't form a strong bond with her. Her brother's resentment towards their mother furthered these feelings as she grew older. Even though her family didn't have much and they barely managed to get by, Abby never felt as if she was deprived of anything. This was largely in thanks to her brother, though he was only five years her senior. When she started school and she had to interact with others, these feelings started to change. She was curious. Why didn't she have a father or a mother, like the other children? Her questions went unasked. She knew that she had someone she called mother, but she didn't feel the same way towards her that the other children shared with their mothers.
Growing up, Abby spent most of her time with her brother whenever he was around. As time went by and life happened, she began to lose friends. From the time she was about eight years old she started to really draw and practice drawing. She would sneak into museums and would often sneak out when her brother wasn't around in order to admire displays of art in the world outside. She knew that the only thing she really enjoyed doing was drawing and recreating the world around her the way she saw it. When she turned ten years old, a few notable things happened to her. First, she lost the last of her offline friends, due to her social awkwardness and the unspoken laws of public school. Second one of her mother's "friends" attempted to molest her. Her mother was the one to protect her that day, though the man would sometimes come back to the house he pretended that Abby no longer existed.
She started her period and took one big step into adulthood. Later, after her eleventh birthday her mother was murdered. She'd felt a little unsure of herself all day, even though she was able to spend all of it with her precious brother. Shortly before coming home with him and finding their mother bleeding out on the kitchen floor, she'd been able to shake that uneasiness. When she died, Abby couldn't handle it. She'd been slowly gaining respect for her mother since she'd shown her that she really did give a damn about her. She shut down shortly after she found out, going quiet for a long time. She didn't shed a tear at the funeral. In time, she eventually cheered up. She's really never been comfortable allowing herself to be too happy since her mother was murdered though. By the time she was twelve, even with her crippling shyness, she was selling sketch portraits in the park and on street corners. Although as she matured she lost more and more of her confidence, she was always able to produce decent enough grades to pass in school and she always excelled in art classes. It was only in more recent years that she really started striving for greatness. She did this mainly to impress her brother, who as he grew older was spending less and less time hanging around her and more time doing other things normal for guys his age.
When the end of the world came, Gabriella was out trying to get a job. She was tired of living with her Aunt and wanted to be able to support herself and help her brother. As people around her started to panic, her brother came to find her. The two fled to the attic of their Aunt's house and there they managed to survive. Since that time, she's only let her brother's side when necessary. She's lost most of her confidence and in the month since she's begun to wonder if it's really worth it to try and survive in this kind of world.
Talents: Gabbie is a gifted artisan. She's great when it comes to coding, strategy and hidden object games.
Hobbies: She loves to draw, sculpt, and color. She enjoys hanging out with her brother, imitating her brother, follows/explores whatever catches her interest, puzzles. Before the apocalypse.
