Do you ever find yourself wondering if Alchemy is worth it? I know I've wondered whether I would make more money by simply selling the items. That is why I am compiling a list of formula costs/profits to try and help.
How does this list work?
#1 - I find a formula. This list will slowly build all formulas, but if you have any requests let me know and I'll get to them faster.
#2 - I look up the average value of the finished product in the MP - this is the sale value
#3 - I look up the price of the components (for different paths, each one is done seperately) - this gives the cost
#4 - The profit is quite simply the difference between these two values.
#5 - I calculate the success rate you would have to have to break even - the break even rate - your success rate would have to be higher to make a profit.
#6 - I give the likely success rate based on the chance of success
#7 - Taking all this into account I use a traffic light system, green is worth it, yellow is proceed with caution (usually only if you are at a higher level), red is don't bother.

What Are The Odds - the guide I used to find out the success rates
A few notes:
#1 - Prices are based on averages at the time of compilation, they may change, but hopefully not by too much!
#2 - Because of discrepancies the costs are rounded (usually to the nearest K/5K depending on price) and should only be taken as a guide.
#3 - The traffic light system is based on break even rate vs. likely success rate only so use common sense with it.
