I wish I had more faith I often find myself lacking. I do think that it is very important and having faith in God can help us through tough times smile

My pastor said something I've never been able to forget; faith isn't believing that God can do it, but believing he will.
My faith is small at times....a lot of the time, but when I feel a n** of doubt, or the darkness of my arrogance consume me I always turn to God, that is when I pray the most, the hardest.

God wrote (and I've never been good with verses) that 'if you have faith like a mustard seed you could move mountains.'
I think that ties in with 'through God you can do anything' and 'If God is for you, no one can be against you.'

So much of the bible ties back into our faith with God, and the wonders it can hold along with the dealing, and coping with the most darkest times of our faith. I think like with the world we have light, and darkness, along with good and evil, and like those two examples I believe faith has a light and dark side.
There are times where we walk in the sunlight with God, side-by-side, and other times we can barely see him through the darkness, but that is when our faith should still be a light, that is when we should turn to God through our faith, and keep walking with him despite what this world can rob us of.

I believe our faith is what connects us to God, I believe it is a rope around our hearts that keeps us tethered to him always.

So i wrote this down in my bible. Cant quit explain how it helped me. But it has and God knows. biggrin so Faith? thought?

Oh! I LOVE that faith thing! (I think it's called an acronym?) Anyways, it reminds me of these bible verses....

James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.

Mark 11:22-24
22 And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God.
23 Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.
24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Matthew 19:26 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Luke 1:37 "For nothing is impossible with God.”

Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Here are some other acronym things that I like! <3

J - Jesus
O - Others
Y - Yourself
That spells J.O.Y. !

Which matches these bible verses....
Matthew 6:33 "But Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." (when Jesus comes first (His will), you'll have joy.)

Luke 10:27 And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” (The order of this verse is the same as the J.O.Y)

I also like this saying :
B - Be
I - Informed
B - Before
L - Leaving
E - Earth

That Spells, B.I.B.L.E. !
Which could also be...

Basic
Instruction
Before
Leaving
Earth.

B.I.B.L.E. !

The bible informs us that...
God is real, Jesus is real, and the Holy Spirit is real.
Satan and demons are real.
The bible tells us there is sin, what it is, and why we need a savior because of sin.
The bible tells us of heaven and warns us of hell.
The bible tells us there is a spiritual war that we cannot see, and there is a bigger picture to everything.
The bible lets us know that God loves us and doesn't want anyone to perish, but wants all to come to repentance.
And it tells us how to live for eternity.

And, one last thing to realize about the Bible,
1 Thessalonians 2:13
For this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe.

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

For more about the bible, you'll have to wait till I make my own thread for it. lol.

I struggle with faith often, but I try really hard to remember that having faith even the size of a mustard seed can move mountains.

I really like that, what you posted, and dimirhex, I love that. I'm going to try and remember that from now on, too. :3

Those are some great ones!

for me, Faith is holding on, waiting and believing that God will do something. heart

and just found this quote

"When things happen which dismay, we ought to look to God, remembering that He is not taken by surprise nor can His purposes be thwarted."
