Some of you might already have received news about this but those who haven't, there was a developer's notice today saying: "Shortly we will be making some backend and frontend changes to Towns 2, Rally, and Virtual Hollywood. It's possible some of these features may go down or become inaccessible while these updates are occurring. Once everything is up and stable we'll release another notice with more detailed information on the changes." The updated notice of the new features they've implanted can be found here. Seeing how this year is coming to a close, towns 1 will also be closing before or near the end of this month. "Our plan is to phase it out by the end of the year. We will get all the features of old towns into the new one before it is closed".This thread is our official discussion page as to where you guys would like to relocate.We have a choice of Rallies, Virtual Hollywood, or the new Towns 2. The new features in all flash games include: - Able to screenshot.
- GPS system to find your friends. (Status must be online only.)
- There may be an option to save chats.
- Path finding in some areas of Towns 2 when clicked on a designated spot instead of continuous clicking to move around objects such as a tree or a rock, as seen in Towns 1.
- Pressing Ctrl allows you to change poses.
- Running and pressing ctrl allows you to slide across screen.
- Holding shift while running allows you to run through towns.For Towns 2, the thread with confirmed features can be found in our guild or by clicking here. The official Towns 2.0 thread can be found here. For those who are too lazy to read it, here is a brief summary of the features that are to be expected in Towns 2. - Towns 2 will have major areas such as Durem, Barton, Gambino Island, etc, which means, no more repetitive maps as seen in Towns 1 where all zip codes look the same.
- Lot of events and mini-events in the new towns.
- Neighborhoods instead of zip codes. "You'll have a street or neighborhood address like 45 Gambino Heights, or 15 Durem Dells. We haven't come up with the names yet."
- You'll be able to "favorite" your locations/neighborhoods. This is how (if we choose Towns 2) we will create the new cosplay towns.
- New home styles, including gardening (?). One of Town 2's biggest features.
- Bugs, trash, flowers, money trees will remain.
- Able to claim neighbors and choose who can come/build houses there.Keep in mind that Towns 2 is still continuing to be developed. An important question was asked: "I see how you say it will be easy to hang with friends. Will it still be as easy to talk to random strangers and meet new people as it is in Towns current system? Is the system going to be set up in a way where it prioritizes you to be on a server or room (I'm sorry if I have the terms wrong here) with your friends? Will we be able to easily return to the same chatting space with the same people if we say... closed the window and came back?" "I'm not sure what will happen if you close the window and come back. You may see the same people or not, but you can always find someone using the gps, so if you know how you were talking to, you can get there. Also houses and neighborhoods are not affected by these server/room rules." With that being said, I'm not sure how that will work if we do decide to make a neighborhood in Towns 2 the new relocated B8 1023. Please vote and discuss. When Towns 2 does officially come out, we will engage into more discussion.

My complete honest opnion.I think Virtual Hollywood would be best selection.Have you seen the new rally?

After going to the new Rally and MTV, I no longer want to go there. I understand that Towns had to be removed due to it slowly breaking, but there was nothing wrong with Rally and MTV. The different layers suck, and it makes it hard to find people even when you tell someone to go in at the exact same time as you.
Also, the GPS system (Smartphone) in rally sucks. I tried using it on a friend to find her location, but the layering is just so bad and makes it hard. Also, it seems as though if you do not have your Online Status set to on, it'll be impossible to follow the friend you're looking for. Now, maybe I'm just glitching, but this is extremely hard/annoying to use.
When I did try following a friend that had their online status set to on, a compass appeared above my head that pointed directly upwards. When I went into the room that was above me, the friend I was looking for wasn't there.
Personally, I still think cosplay towns should be in Towns 2, solely for the fact that there will be addresses, unlike rally/MTV. Because of that, I think there's still a chance for everyone to be able to come together.

New outlook on it Towns 2 would be the best option wouldn't it?The new rally is glitchy,terrible.I don't even believe if you can rally hop anymore with the new little navigation blackberry phone or whatever you have.I think it was a bad move on Gaia. Towns 2 is more movable,the scenery is alot better.I agree on everything you saw and take my vote back on Virtual Hollywood.

She flat out hates the new updates. They should have left Rally and Hollywood alone. There was nothing wrong with them. They try to fix something that wasn't broken and just turned into a massive jumble of glitching. The arrows are annoying too. 8 c They also got rid of the pool and house. Boo. No fun.
As for where to relocate... she is leaning more towards Towns2, due to the fact that Rally is too glitchy to just even place your car there. And Hollywood barely any anything in it anymore.

even though we no longer can use virtual hollywood or rally theres one error bout it,
if no one is at the main entrance the name won't show on the username on the list, so whoever wants to join won't be able to find it. Also we are going to have an issue of someone having to make a space just for cosplayers constantly.

Since Towns1 is going down, I'd rather go to MTV.
But.. because Gaia F*CK'D us over on both Rallies and MTV, idec anymore sometimes.. emotion_facepalm

Towns 2 seems very promising with the new features coming.
I agree, though, the layers are really annoying. I'm hoping there's a way to server hop to other users or a specific location, such as a designated cosplay towns.
