Veronica kicked off what remained of the rusted door she used to lock herself inside her car with. She poked her head out, and satisfied to see the street had been abandoned, crawled out of the car slowly. She dragged out her backpack and slung the strap over her shoulder. "Man it's just too creepy when it's quiet..." she said in a hushed tone. She looked across to where she had intendid to go, a small corner store that appeared to be empty. With luck she just might find some extra supplies. "Time to go to work I guess..."

Veronica didn't know it but the corner store was not empty at all. Sonya was inside, silent as can be, sleeping behind the cashier counter peacefully. The sound of the rusted car door being kicked off startled her out of her slumber. The woman's exquisite hearing picked up the sound of a female outside the perimeter of the store. It had been a long while since she had heard the sweet notes of a voice other than her own and a few screams here and there. And Sonya had been alone for so long that she felt an pinch of happiness knowing that someone else was around. With a quick sniff at the air she found that the other female was human.
Human.
Sonya hadn't tasted a drop of blood for almost a month and the girl's was smelling particularly good. But she had to shake these thoughts from her head. If her hunger got the best of her she would end up scaring the other away - losing any chance of communicating. Picking herself off the floor, Sonya brushed the dirt from her clothes and stretched her muscles. Her fingers hovered over the knives at her belt in case the other survivor had any hostile motives. She made her way to the door and undid the many locks. Giving a push to the door, the small bell dinged above her head and welcomed Veronica. Sonya motioned for the girl to enter, though she didn't know if she would trust her at all.

llFangzi Veronica looked around the road as she approached the store. When the bell dinged she jumped a bit and looked over. She saw a girl holding the door open and thought for a moment. Might not be the safest thing to do, can't trust half the people out here. She shook her head and forgot about it for the moment.
She ran over to the girl and slid inside the door. "Thanks..." She eyed the girl carefully out of the corner of her eye as she walked inside. "I didn't expect anyone else to be here to be honest."

Sonya shut the door behind them and redid all the locks. As she turned back to Veronica, she made a face as if she were in some sort of pain. The woman grounded her teeth together and swallowed down the extreme want for the girl's blood. If she wasn't careful she would end up giving into her hunger and killing the girl for her blood. She crossed the room, getting as far away as she could from the human and nodded in agreement to her statement. "Yes. Eheh. I didn't expect anyone either."
She precariously stepped over the many items littering the floor until she came across the corpse of a human she had fed on moons ago. It had a horrible stench and was beginning to rot, body overcome by rigor mortis. Panic swept over Sonya. With much speed she started to push items off the shelves to over the body. Once it was hidden, the woman gave Veronica a nervous smile and leaned on the wall to her right. "What are your current motives? Are you just trying to survive like everyone else or do you have a goal in mind?" Her voice was soft, not wanting to alarm the other.
With each whiff of the air she got, Sonya could smell the fresh blood pumping throughout the girl's body. Her body wanted to pounce but her mind told her it would be a bad idea. Holding her breath, she closed her eyes shut and tried to ignore the thoughts of blood that flooded her mind.

"I'm just here to get some food before I run out, so the first one I guess..." She felt odd talking to people in general, but this woman only made her feel more awkward. She didn't like the idea of spending time around people too long. "What about yourself? Living in a general store doesn't seem too much fun...especially not with the obvious stench of death lingering around..." She smelt the stench when she got in but didn't think about it until now when she realised the smell was oddly familiar.

"Well humans need supplies, right? So what is a better place to hold out in than store full of things they need? It's the perfect trap..."
Sonya's eyes widened as she noticed what she had said. She had just let out her true intentions. The girl would surely try to leave now. And Sonya couldn't let that happen - not after having barely any contact with another for so long. She bit down on her lip, puncturing the soft flesh with her fang. A small trail of blood trickled down her chin as she stood, staring at Veronica. "W-what I meant to say was..."
Sonya had no idea how to cover up for her mistake. So she would do only what she could think of at the moment: force Veronica to stay in the store with her for a while. "Okay. I'll just tell you. I am a vampire. I drink blood and when I am hungry I don't hesitate to take what I need," she explained quickly. "And right now I am doing my best not to sink my fangs into you!" She moved back to the front door, blocking it in case Veronica would try to leave. "I really would like you to stay and speak with me for a bit. I haven't spoken to someone in so long, so I am taking this opportunity. You can leave, but don't expect to get far without me killing you." Turning around, she unlocked the door - each click of the gears keeping the door locked echoed within the small store. "Please stay," she said. It was more of an order than a beg but it was the best she could do.

This is why I don't associate with people..."Well you're not giving me much of a choice anyway, so I guess i'm gonna stay and chat." She crossed her arms and looked at Sonya for a minute. "Vampire huh? Well I guess it's better than a zombie eating at my throat." She looked around the store for a minute before setting her backpack down on the ground beside her. "Alright, so what do you wanna talk about?"

Sonya had been ready for Veronica leave, so when the girl said she would stay a grateful grin spread across her face. It wasn't likeSonya was going to let the girl leave anyhow. To be honest, she had no idea what to talk about. There wasn't much going on in her life expect the usual: zombies, fighting, drinking and killing - everything Sonya considered boring. The woman knit her frows and tapped a finger on her cheek. What to say? What to say?
The vampire's eyes then lit up and she stepped towards Veronica. "Well, why don't you tell me a little about yourself... If you don't mind," she suggested. She reached out a stroked a lock of the girl's hair. Now closer to Veronica, Sonya could see how pretty she was. It had been over hundreds of years since Sonya had been fresh and youthful. Though she hadn't aged since being turned the years seemed to slowly wear at the beauty she once had. Struck with envy, Sonya stepped back once more and looked to the side.

Veronica took a deep breath in before starting,"Well lets go through the list. I was born and raised in Nova Scotia, i'm a diagnosed sociopath, i'm riddled with paranoia, my parents are dead along with my brother and at the time i'm heading towards my Uncle's place so I don't get slaughtered too early in life. But y'know, on top of that I like drawing, I WAS on a gymnastics and running team until zombies started eating my team members, aaaaaaand I try very hard to keep the several different voices in my head from provoking me to kill every thing that has so much as a faint heartbeat. So...simple, yet refined tastes and life." A small smile broke across her face as she finished off her rant. She sat down against a wall and dragged her backpack towards her, unzipping it and rummaging through it. She looked up at Sonya and nodded her head. "Your turn."

Sonya listened intently to everything Veronica had to say. It was nice to hear about someone else, even if some of the details were a bit... different from what she expected. When the girl was finished speaking, she gave a small nod and straightened herself up. "Ah. My turn? Let's see..." she trailed off. She turned on her heel and moved behind the cashier counter. Sitting on the rickety stool, she leaned up against the the counter for support and tucked some brown stands behind her pointer ear.
"Where do I start? Oh yes!" The woman pasued for dramatic effect and sighed. "Originally born in Scotland many, many, many years ago, I was the only child. That meant that my parents had to make sure I was married off to a man to have my own children to carry on their legacy," she started, rolling her eyes at the thought of having to get married.
"I was arrange to be married to Afanasy Bogdon - one of the men in my village. Of course I didn't want to become a housewife like many other girls and wished for something a little... different. I wanted to fight in my Papa's army. I had the skill and strength to do anything the big boys could, but everyone thought it was foolish of me to want such a thing." Sonya tapped a finger on the wood in front of her as her eyes wandered back over to Veronica.
"I decided to be a badass and enter the army of the pretense that I was a man. That was a big mistake... My troop was ambushed... Nobody survived. Well - that is - except me. A lovely man came to me and gave me a second life. The life of a vampire. With my new life I decided to move out of Russia and travel a bit. I just happened to be here before the outbreak. I've been helping the humans around here and ridding of the other vampire scum that hold an iron fist on the area."
Once finished she laughed. She hadn't spoken that much in what felt like ages. "If you let me stick with you, I can be sure to aide you in living beyond your young years in such an unforgiving world~"

Veronica listened to Sonya's story, but shrugged at the end. "I think i'll take my chances with living as long as I can naturally." She stood up and stretched out her limbs. Walking over to a window, she peered out to see several zombies had scattered around the area, more focused around the car she hid in. "Death comes to everyone, one way or another. There isn't anything you or I can do to prevent it."

Sonya sneered and shook her head. "You think I don't know that?" She quickly rose from her seat, knocking it down as she moved to the front of the counter. "You don't think that I've seen everyone and everything I knew die? My parents - I watched them get old from afar. I even had acquaintances that were undead bastards like me that dug themselves a grave!" Sonya didn't know why she had become so defensive all of a sudden. Maybe because Veronica refused her offer? Or maybe it was because of the fact that had wanted to die. Many times she had gotten herself into deadly situations but she never died. It was the curse of being a vampire.
"I've been shot more times than I can count. Had a knife drove straight through where my heart used to be. And look at me! I'm not dead, but I'm not alive." She paced about the store, her heeled boots clicking on the tile. "I could have died so long ago naturally but I wasn't given a choice!" Her brown eyes slowly faded into a crimson glow. "Why should I give you a choice? Why don't I just turn you now to make sure you survive?"

Veronica didn't turn around, she continued to stare out the window at one of the zombies walking around. "And how about I kill myself before that happens." She shot a stern look at Sonya before continuing. "The second you threatened to kill me if I left I made sure I had something as a fallback." She opened her hand, showing the pointed head of an arrow in her hand. "Thats why I so suddenly went rummaging through my backpack. If you think you can get to me before this is in my throat then you're almost as crazy as I am."
