Day 1, 12/09/12, New Beginnings
I step into the meadow
The light blinding my eyes
I feel the grass on my bare feet
Shielding my eyes from the brightness
I smell the freshness
Of my brand new surroundings
As I’m cast into this new place
A place for new beginnings
My past I can’t remember
As I soak in my location
Who knows quite where it is
But it’s ever so peaceful
The light dims a bit
Or perhaps it’s my eyes adjusting
I’m sat there looking around
This is my new beginning
Day 2, 12/10/12, Cause/Effect
I take my first steps
Out on this wondrous plain
Take in the fresh air
Listen to the birds sing
I whistle back
In a similar tune
And the bird answers me
With yet another song
We go back and forth
A conversation of sorts
Neither of us really sure
Where I’m headed
Day 3, 12/11/12, Peace of Mind
As I take more first steps
On this fresh smelling grass
I feel peace in my heart
As well as my mind
I may not know this place
But I can sense the delight
It entices me to stay
And encourages me on
I look around
Up into the bright sky
Down upon the fresh bright ground
And all around
Taking in the different
Areas around me
Some meadow
Some trees
Which way shall I go?
I haven’t a clue
But either way
This place is peaceful for now
Day 4, 12/12/12, Childhood Memories
I honestly can’t remember
Anything before this place
Not that it bothers me much
I think I’d rather it stay hidden
Whether it was good or bad
It need not be in this place
It need not cross over to here
I want to keep the two separate
For that is the past
And this is the present
The should remain separate
As they were meant to after all
Day 5, 12/13/12, Speed
Part of me wants to run
Deep into the forest side
Whereas the other wants to rush
Far off into the meadow
However I personally know
That I should do neither
I shouldn’t rush through this great place
Or I take the risk
Of missing the details
Of which I hold so dear
The small things
That make life worth living
Day 6, 12/14/12, Mayhem
A tiger emerges from the forest
I see it running at me
Unsure of if it’s real or not
I realize I must run
Although not my first choice
Without even thinking
I run straight at the beast
That is barreling towards me
All of a sudden
The tiger disappears
Leaving behind only
A cloud of smoke in its place
Day 7, 12/15/12, Gilding a Lily
As the smoke lifted up
Something new appeared
Just a small lily
Nothing more, nothing less
Not just any lily though
Don’t get me wrong
Twas a gilded lily
One of great golden hue
Sparkling in the light
As if to show the beauty in death
No matter how grim it may seem
All holds beauty
I step into the meadow
The light blinding my eyes
I feel the grass on my bare feet
Shielding my eyes from the brightness
I smell the freshness
