So, i know this may be touching on some sore spots, but im curious as to everyone's outlook/opinions on December 21st. Also, respectively, what is your opinion of the previous "end of the world" dates, that have passed.
What will happen after December 21st is gone?

I don't think the world will end.. probably because of all the previous "end of the world" dates that never happened... 3nodding

I'm not too worried about it. What concerns me is that there will likely be mass riots, and the suicide rate will skyrocket

What will happen after December 21st is gone? i think it is a bunch of crap and that everyone is crazy I dont even know who is crazy. Is it the the Churchs and whatnot? Most of my family, aside from me, is religious and they invited me to xmas day dinner. So obviously they arent concerned.

I was watching Discovery and it seems that it may not be that they predicted the end of the world, more like someone told a king that his reign would end on the 21-Dec-2012. Seems he was a few centuries off the mark rofl
It comes down to few people actually being fluent in Mayan hyrogliphics and miss-reading something. sweatdrop
This is why you should avoid using slang terms, in 5000 years someone might miss-read it and think the world will end! rofl

Bak'tuns are cycles of 364 years. All the Mayan predictions really say is that the world as we know it will change in the last year of the 13th Bak'tun. The calender was written for a people who ceased to exist, their predictions are for their world. Not a global world.
