Jacob the brave. Jacob the foolish. So many times before had I heard myself say those words. Now, I was barely choking them out. My hands were covered in his blood and he was lying lifeless in my lap. Tears wouldn't help anything so I kept them at bay. I had no time for them now either way.

Jacob had been my closest friend. Working in the same unit for so long does that I guess. Still, he'd only told me a little about himself.

After being an Army Ranger and a Navy Seal... how could he die now, a member of the CIA, by far the least dangerous of the three.

No. I knew the answer. He'd protected me. Took the show that had been aimed for me.

Why?

Jacob the brave. Jacob the foolish. A Ranger, a Seal, a friend.... and brother.

Unfortunately no. It could easily be. That is my problem with writing. I can write a good intro to a book, I can write a book, but short stories... They always end as if I wanted them to go on >.<
