Arlian, while only an egg, had potential. A life grew within that hard shell, alert, waiting. Waiting to be set free. Waiting for a chance to show the world what he could do. How long would it be? He didnt know. But until then, he would wait, he would plan. He would conquer when he was released, until then, he could only dream.

Arlian fell from his egg, a wet, surprised bundle of scales and wings. He lay there, stunned, for a moment, before slowly stretching out his wings and maneuvering into a half-sitting position. This was harder than he'd thought! He slowly stretched and wiggled, until he had decent control of his limbs. Stretching, he looked around. Now... now he could learn how to conquer! ... if he could get his limbs working, that is...

Arlian hunched down, tailtip twitching slightly as he stared at the small rat. He lunged, catching it up in his motuh and swollowing it in one gulp. He was happy and sat on his haunches, suddenly seeing something moving toward him.
