Shil'Ta looked around the park, pondering the circumstances which had brought him here- again, the second day in a row. He usually wandered a lot more than this; the park was a pleasant and central location, but the circumstances where still unusual.
It wasn't entirely his choice. Not that he was sorry to be there- or for the reason for it- but that didn't change the fact that, had he not met a charming Maneki Neko here yesterday, who had wanted to have him show her around some more today, he likely wouldn't be anywhere near the park.
And that would be a shame, all things considered, he thought to himself; a mischievous little smile exposing one tooth. Who knows what could happen today.
He ceased the slow wander which had taken him in a circle and back near where he began; which was, in fact, near where he had met Mocha the previous day. It occurred to him that this was as good a place as any to sit and wait for her; and so he did so, curling his long, fluffy tail around his paws and keeping his senses alert to catch a hint of his new friend.

 Mocha had had a wonderful night! She had managed to take her Human's encouragement of making new friends to heart and also gained a clever and handsome Maneki Neko to act as her guide to the unknown world around her in the process. He'd shown her some interesting things, mainly a sweet old Lady who apparently loved to give affection just as much as she seemed to enjoy a Neko's company and even discovered that there are some individuals, much like her Human, who only wish for a Maneki to be happy in their lives... as well as fed and taken care of in some shape and/or form.
However, Mocha's return home wasn't as welcoming as she had anticipated....
When she usually spent long hours in the park and came home late, her Human usually had some extra special treat waiting for her for her return... but instead, her welcome home present had been eaten by a stranger. More correctly, a strange Maneki Neko who her Human had invited in. It was just as Mocha had feared and she silently thanked her lucky stars for sending her Shil'Ta when they had. Otherwise, she'd be a raging and far more grumpy of a mess today than she was.
If anything, Mocha looked distraught. Having to forfeit her most favorite pillow bed to the new Neko of the home could do that... and she snarled as her body seemed to slink through the park in a somewhat tired slump the whole way back towards the creek where it trickled down into the pond - the same place she met Shil'Ta the day before and silently hoped he'd be there again today.
Once that particular area of the park came into sight, she spotted the distant shape of Shil'Ta's body near it and she sighed, pausing in her travels a moment to quickly groom her face and ears. She probably looked a mess, after all.
Once she was satisfied, she trudged on, not looking nearly as happy or content as she had the day before, but only somewhat so... After all, her new friend was waiting for her... how could a Neko not be happy?!
Once within ear shot, she smiled a bit. "Hello, Shil'Ta. Sleep well?" she asked, hoping she put her disgruntled features on the back burner for the time being.

It had been impossible for Shil'Ta not to know Mocha was coming. The breeze brought a tickle of her scent first as it swirled gently around him; and then his eyes had spotted a dark Maneki Neko who had been hidden from his sight by a tree. His conviction that it was her was correct, and he felt genuine pleasure at seeing her smile at him- although she seemed a little... Discomforted?
He reasoned that it was probably seeing him again; after all their acquaintance was still new. A few minutes would surely be enough to bring her back to the relaxed and happy individual he'd parted from last night- and of course, he could probably help speed the process.
He stood and closed the gap between them, wearing a smile of his own. "Yes, thanks. Did you?" He watched her golden eyes as he replied to her; waiting to see how quickly she would relax once more.

Mocha sat with a bit of a huff at his inquery. "I slept decently well considering the fact that I did not have the leisure of sleeping in my own bed..." she half growled then sighed.
"My apologies, Shil'Ta..." she half purred. "My Human decided to bring home another Maneki Neko without warning. So when I got home after our time with that charming old lady last night, I came home to someone sleeping in my spot..." She huffed again and fluffed her fur in mild rage. "Not to mention she ate all my food!" Mocha added with a half kitten-ish mew of a whine.
Her claws flexed, digging into the ground a moment before she took a deep breath the calm herself down. She even lifted a paw to groom a bit as a further calming agent. Perhaps Distraught was the perfect word to place upon Mocha in the moment. She'd grown up in the cushy life and knew of nothing else. Spoiled by having everything to herself. To suddenly have her worst fears slap her in the muzzle was enough to set her on edge...
Though she was obviously making mild attempts to not take it out on Shil'Ta... After all, he did nothing wrong except give her a friend...

Shil'Ta slowly blinked in bemusement; he couldn't have been much more wrong about what was bothering Mocha. The tip of his tail twitched back and forth as he pondered; to him he didn't see the issue, since Mocha certainly lived a life of plenty. There was certainly room enough for another- but on the other hand, he didn't think of any particular spot as being "his territory", so perhaps that line of thought was unfair. When he was intruded upon, he simply went somewhere else- but since it was Mocha's home, perhaps she was right to feel somewhat... disoriented.
He shrugged off these thoughts and fixed Mocha with an unusually serious gaze. "I'm sure you'll get used to her, if she's a permanent addition", he spoke with a reassuring purr in his voice. "I'm sure it would have been better for you to know beforehand, but I doubt your human will overlook you because of this newcomer."

Mocha fluffed with another huff at his words, but seemed to calm down considerably. After all, wasn't the point of her even being here today brought on by this very thing having the possibility of happening at all?!
She straightened herself with a bit of dignity and nodded.
"You're right, Shil'Ta." she blinked softly. "My Human won't forget me over something so silly as a new Neko in the home..."
She quickly shook herself and brought on another smile, this one seeming more genuine - and less discouraged - than the last. "So..." she purred out, flicking her bobbed tail softly. "Where will be going today?"

Shil'Ta smiled at her response; his eyes sparkled and he looked more himself than he ever could with a serious expression in them. He was pleased that she had started to relax; and, eager to keep her in a good mood, he got up, his tail waving gently in the air.
"We're heading in the same direction as yesterday- I'd hoped to show you this place as well, but-" he chuckled- "we were rather... Caught up. I thought it might happen, though." The old lady had been so pleased at the company that she'd kept them with her for as long as she could; chatting with them, sharing scraps of different meats from her fridge, and anything else she could think of to keep them happy to stay a little longer.
He stretched his long body out; his claws flexing into the earth, before standing up straight and giving himself a little shake. "Ready to head out? It's a little further than before, but not too much."
