It's so disgusting and a bad way to get general effect. One guard wears bras and sexy little skirts. And one guard unzipps their tops. EWWWW!
Thoughts on the subject?

Well I haven't actually seen some but on the topic of provocative...
At the winterguard show I went to there were some guards that had some reaaally edgy dancing. Well my guard had a 20 count dance in the fall but that was waaayyy mild compared to how some guards were rolling around the floor and such >.<

Our outfits are not the sweetest things this year...fully built corsets! But hey, we look sexy, feminine, evil, and we totally rock, so who's complaining?

I've yet to encounter a guard like that. Our guard isn't anywhere near sexuallity or anything of the sort on the floor, thank god. Off floor...is a different story.

2 Words: Light Brigade.
They're an independent world class guard, and they did a Prince-themed show last year. Yeah, they were basically having sex on the floor. They were last at WGI world finals - final round.
And if you watched Onyx (another independent world) a few years ago, their shows were pretty trashy, but they cleaned up cause they weren't getting good scores. They were second only to Pride of Cinci at WGIs last year.
My point is, it doesn't matter how good you are, judges don't like sex shows, so you're not going to score well. (a little bit of sexy isn't that bad - it's just that the overdose of it doesn't work)

I hate it when we're watching guards--especially HIGH SCHOOL guards--that want to try to look the part of a seductress. It doesn't work.
There's this one team with black wigs with bob cuts, sparkly tiger bodysuits that are skin tight and have a cut almost to their butt down the back and they claim they aren't being "provocative" at all.
One of our drum instructors was like, "It's just... weird when high school girls try to be sexy," [In reference to the guard doing chair dances] "I mean... they can't be."

I wouldn't say our show is sexy but it's definately seductive at times. Our show is Secret of the Sirens. At first we're all beautiful girls, drawing in the audience, bringing them closer. Then as the rifles are introduced things get a bit more intense and then after a rifle line toss (the rest of the guard has deposited their rifles to switch to flag) the bottom drops out of our show and it's all crazy. We're after them now, drawing them in for the kill. The siren theme.

There was one group of girls we saw (don't remember if they were guard or dance) that had basically boy's shorts underwear for bottoms. And of course, they were popping and all that junk. Not very nice to see from the back.

Props: Well, the song is about a sexy model on the catwalk, so the tarp would definitely be painted with a catwalk, and maybe props would be curtains along the back of the floor that the performers would come out of. And at least one of them would have to take their shirt off... especially if there was a guy in the guard... like Winston Churchill! xd

I mean, they're so disgusting, but they're great crowd-pleasers. xp Anyway, I can't remember who it was, but they wore red uniforms.
