-Prologue-
The Cause
The Cause
Hanalli was relaxing on a hillside overlooking the green field of grass. The wind blowing was soothing to her. Her eyes scanned the field of green before her.
"Excuse me, miss. Mind if I sit here?" A tall woman asked. She was carrying an umbrella and wore what seemed like a red kimono with white floral design. It was a human
"Not at all! The more the merrier!" Hanalli gave her best smile. For one without any hair, she shined so bright. The woman folded the umbrella and sat beside her to see the grass moving through the breeze.
"I am sorry for not introducing myself. I am Hanalli!" Hanalli dug out a joy bun to the woman. The woman looked at Hanalli with a stunned expression.
"You're....Hanalli?" she asked.
"Yep! I am Hanalli, the Youkai of Joy!" Hanalli Replied.
The woman gritted her teeth and took the bun in her hand before tossing it at her face. Hanalli fell backwards and tried to pull herself up.
"HEY! That's not very nice!" Hanalli wiped what was on her face off.
"You are Hanalli...It took me years to find you and now I will take revenge for what you did to my ancestors. Because of you, my family line has lived without any Happiness! " She pulled out a strange knife that caught Hanalli's eyes with fright. Hanalli took her staff out to knock the dagger out of the woman's hands as she tried to make her escape towards the forest of magic.
However, there was a trap waiting for her. Hanalli would try to reach Nahumar but halfway through the forest she would drop to the ground. Upon looking around, there were various charms to restrict her own power of flying.
"No..." She was panicking. It could be due to Nahumar's Domain or more due to the fact that a descendant of one who tried to kill her those many years ago. She hurried on her feet and began to run to Nahumar's home.
Closing behind her was the strange woman with the knife.
As Hanalli reached the clearing of Nahumar's shrine, she took a minute to catch her breath. The charms were really doing their job right now.
"Nahumar! Sorina!" Hanalli cried out. Nahumar appeared from the shadows as Sorina came flying in.
"What's the matter?" Sorina asked.
"A descendant of the one who tried to kill me...She is trying to kill me!" Hanalli cried out. Suddenly, an arrow came flying towards Sorina. Nahumar managed to grab it and snapped it in two.
"Show yourself." Nahumar sneered. The woman stepped forward. She no longer had a Kimono on but full priest attire. Unlike the priestess of this land, the color scheme was inverted from Reimu's.
Red Sleeves and a white body. A long skirt and her hair tied in a brilliant braid. In her hand was a bow made from petrified oak and the string was a brilliant gold hair.
"That's-" Sorina imedeatly knew what the string was. The woman lined her shot up at Nahumar and fired at his chest. Nahumar sighed.
"You know it takes more than a simple arrow to-" Nahumar then started to cough up a black fluid. Sorina and Hanalli were struck with fright.
"Yes, I know a simple human arrow will not kill you. Which is why this bow was made with the last strain of the golden one's hair. It's durability has lasted for years upon years. Generation to Generation. It enhances my arrows with a spell of my choice. The one I used on you will poison your 'Roots' till it hits the core." The woman explained with a grin.
Nahumar's body grew unstable. His skin turning into a grey stone before crumbling into a pool of black blood.
"NAHUAMR!" Hanalli cried out. Another arrow whizzed past her, impaling Sorina against the side of the shrine. Blue blood leaked from the wound before death would consume her.
"SORINA!" It was too much. Hanalli was breaking down. Her cries of agony and despair started to ring. Sobbing over the lost of her last kin. The woman gave a sly smirk as she raised one arrow up to Hanalli. Hanalli looked at her with eyes filled of tears.
"Hanalli. I think the best revenge is not to kill you...But to kill what makes you most happy in life." The woman lowered her bow.
"How...could you be so cruel...They were my children." Hanalli hung her head in shame. She let her tears drop and splash on the ground before her. The color changed into a gold tint. Her body grew dim.
"How could I? Maybe if you would of died earlier, then this would not of happened. It's your fault for bringing such negative emotions into this world." the woman turned and left the scene. Her name never given but her outfit was clear in Hanalli's Mind.
"...Tushui."
Ochiba later found the now dim Hanalli and the remains of the two last negative emotions. She did her best to contact Marisa who in turn contacted Rinnosuke who then told Keine and took her in. With such a loss for her, Hanalli found no reason to smile anymore.
