Hey folks. smile Heads up this is a very borderline pg-13 topic. However, if that book I dislike "50 Shades of Grey" can be sold in stores and seen as pg-13 enough to sell in stores. If I leave out some details and go with the general concept this topic should be acceptable. We'll see.

To start, I would like to discuss the beauty of catharsis.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catharsis

I'm kinky by the way if you haven't already figured it out. My kinkiness intertwines with my spirituality and magic.

Here's how people in my community enjoy catharsis. Sometimes when you have an emotional blockage and cannot feel because you have repressed and buried it. You are stuck in a stagnant pool of wretched feelings you can't escape. You need to be able to feel so you can release the emotional blockage holding you back.

Well, when you hang out with a bunch of sadomasochists(People who enjoy the giving and receiving of pain. A blending of two words, Sadist and Masochist. Sadist enjoys inflicting pain or sadistic situations while Masochists enjoy what the sadists have to offer.) Cathartic release comes in the form of consensual beatings or floggings. You get hit until you reach a point where all that emotion comes pouring out.

While this may be hard to understand for some. Here's the general concept. All the emotion comes out like a tidal wave. The person topping you helps you through it and is there for you. After all that emotion is finally released it's like a burden has been lifted off your chest. Then, with all that pent up emotion released. You feel better than you have felt in a long time and you've moved past the emotional blockage. It truly is a beautiful thing hard for some to understand. I reached Catharsis once with someone. I've been there. smile

At a recent party I was playing with someone and topping them. I decide to incorporate some energy into my strikes since it seemed like she needed the catharsis. A few strikes later she starts tearing up and we just snuggled while I listened and talked to her reassured her. Nothing deviant.

Afterwards, she felt tons better. This poor girl had so much pent up and on her mind too. It must have felt great for her to let it go. Releasing emotional blockage is something that affects us all and seeing people let go of emotional blockage is beautiful because it it beautiful to feel. Anyone who would pervert what they've just read just entirely missed the point of cathartic release.

This got the inner working of my mind going... Now, I've been looking into energy play. Basically, combining energy work/play with sadomasochism. Given that my kink and spirituality intertwine. Why shouldn't I?

Fast forward to now and see me rejoicing in my three crops! They are riding crops meant for horses but much funner to use on people or have used on you. I always had a special love for crops and energy play because of what I experienced with a former Mistress.

So... I enchanted my crops. I have to be super responsible with them now. If someone is using my crops to get practice. The energy in them will help them get the hang of it. If someone needs Catharsis, the crops can help! If someone simply wants an all natural body endorphin high,(Not joking. You can do this. The body releases feel good endorphins upon getting hit if you learn how to control it.) the crops can help!

This makes them super great for energy play. However, should someone handle the crops without consent and/or disrespect. The crops will take energy from them. Should a person with ill will handle my crops? No hesitation, the crops start draining them of energy. However, if I tell the crops to let someone have access to them. Then I don't need to worry about that.

Now, to help get the conversation going. Just answer what ones you like. The questions are just a guide to get conversation started if you're not sure what to say.

1. Experiences with cathartic release? Do tell!

2. Enchanting every day normal objects? Like what?

3. Using things for uses other than their intended purpose. (For instance, using basil in a spell but using the basil from the kitchen cupboard. The same basil that you seasoned yesterday's stew with.)

I would love to hear your thoughts and feelings on this and look forward to reading your replies. smile

Another experience with energy play. It seems there is much more to take into account than I first realized.

Experiences with cathartics? Absolutely. I'm a natural empath and have a hyper sensitive nervous system. It means I get over stimulated easily. Blocking the emotional input to varying degrees for me is a necessary part of day to day living. Receiving pain from another consenting adult is the only method I have found of working with and breaking up the deep blocks I occasionally get.

Enchanting everyday objects. Absolutely. Who says a tool has to look like one or not be multifunctional. Good examples would be when I enchanted a stuffed toy of each of my kids to keep away bad dreams,my son used to get bad nightmares. I've turned nicknacks into stuff to protect my home.

Things other than their intended mundane purpose, yup. What do you think pagan people did ages ago, they didn't have a local store or website catering to metaphysical needs. They used what they had on hand around their own home. Its the basis of folk magic really. And then there is chaos magic where you can use anything for anything and if you believe it will work it will, and yes it actually does.

And on the original note of energy work: I love it. I combine it all the time with sexual practices and mundane work. Its had very noticeable and positive results. I suppose you could say energy work is a core part of my spiritual practice and that my spiritual practices flows into all aspects of my life.

I had one very recently. It was during a session related to BDSM work. Like you my kink and my play can be a part of my spirituality. It can also be separate. There are times when I deliberately engage in kink acts for spiritual release and experience and times when its just for the dynamic and practice of my relationship when it turns into something spiritual.

One of these sessions was one I had intended to use for spiritual development. I knew that the dragons I work with delight in sexual energy. It has always been one thing I have sacrificed to them. Its also one of the reasons I have found Dragonsblood to be a very potent sex magic herb as well as love and lust magic herb.

I was offering the kink energy to the Dragons in hope that the gates to the realm would be opened once more. Through this I was able to trance and get into the Dragon realm of fire. Fire is tied into passions and sexuality for many reasons. Summer is also the season of fire and the season of passion. These are all elements I was working with magically at this time to engage in spiritual and personal development.

As the session engaged I saw a fire Dragon be free and broken from chains which bound them. I was asking for my passions and sexual desires to be free. As the dragon was freed so was my block on my passions and ability to submit immediately to my sexual desires and even to the fact that I had them. I believe that dragon was me.

So yes. I have experienced the magical catharsis of crops as well as having a magical catharsis in general. Its been a bit fearful at times recently as I have adjusted to the new freedom of passions.

My fiance' has performed one really powerful act of magic for me. He created a healing tailsman for me that I carry with me to this day. This object is not necessarily everyday in all houses, but in households of martial artists it is. Which in my house is considered an everday object.

He cut off part of one of his rank belts and in it sewed up a message and a lock of his freshly cut hair. He then gave it to me in the hospital to keep with me as a memento of him and to have his energy near me. The importance of that rank and the symbolic act to me are what made the talisman so power and is why I carry it with me to this day.

When I made my tinctures the bottles, the bowls, the spoons, all the everyday kitchen tools I used were enchanted for their new used. They were directly empowered to enhance and direct the magical energy in the tinctures. I mean I used a Mr. Coffee coffee grinder to grind the herbs and a turkey baster to bottle the liquid from the mason jar with. If those aren't everyday objects I don't know what are.

This right here is kitchen magic and kitchen witchery. Kitchen witchcraft is about using the magical and spiritual aspects and association of common culinary herbs to create a magical cuisine. Using garlic in a garlic suave for protection or healing is one example I can think of. Using cinnamon to connect to the element of fire as you eat is another example.
