Jerry hadn't really taken much advantage of the perks of being a Hunter... but finally he had poked his head into the Hunters-Only gym and pool area. The smell of chlorine filled the air, and there were several unfamiliar older Hunters doing laps nearby, but the Sun's attention was on the hot tub.

Roar kept telling him he needed to relax. Hell, everyone had been telling him as much, and by golly, he was going to. His wounds had all closed, at least, and while the previously broken and mauled limbs still ached at the fresh scars, he was fine enough for this. And so, stripped down to his orange swim trunks and feeling awkward and nervous and half naked, he carefully eased his way into the soothing hot water with a deep sigh.

Alright. Alright this was nice. He turned up the jets and sank in lower, setting his glasses on the edge.

Candace had been meaning to come here for months. She hadn't had time during the summer, when normal people go to the pool, and she hadn't had time during the Fall..so the winter would have to do. At least it was indoor, right? She was even pleased to see it had a hot tub. She could use some relaxation.

What surprised her was to see who was already in it.

She stood behind Jerry in her bikini, an amused smirk on her lips and one brow raised high. Who'd have taken Jerry to be the kind of guy who'd come here of all places? When they were dating she was lucky to see him with no shirt on and now here he was out in public in only swim trunks.

God she hoped he was wearing swim trunks and not speedos. Jerry already had enough mockery in his life over how he dressed.

Candace looked around, finding no one was paying her any attention. Good. "Hey, Jerry~." She greeted the man cheerfully as she got in beside him, thinking nothing of it. It was just Jerry. It wasn't like it was Dakota or Dwight or even H, any man who would turn enjoying a hot tub and relaxing into something...how to put it..more invigorating.

This, amongst the bubbles and hot water and blissful quiet distant sound of splashing, this was where he could find his Jerry Place, he decided. He had almost fallen asleep- a bad idea in a hot tub, but Roar would rouse him if there was a problem-

The sudden sound of his name being called made him flinch, splashing a moment as he groped blindly for his glasses on the edge- thankfully, as he heard the sad plunk of them falling in with him, he registered who's voice he had heard, "Ah... C-candace! Hi! Oh, hell..."

"Oops. Sorry about that." Candace chuckled, reaching in and very carefully searching for Jerry's glasses through the bubbly water. It wouldn't do for Jerry to lose yet another pair of glasses. "Didn't mean to startle you," Liar. "You don't mind if I join you, right?"

"N-no! Not at all!" He mumbled, cross-eyed and blushing. "I um. I got your... your present." He smiled nervously as he sat up, trying to be nonchalant while she fished for his glasses for him, "You really shouldn't have."

Candace pouted, fishing for the glasses until her hand brushed something solid. She made a grab for it before it could float away, making a little sound of victory when she raised her hand with Jerry's glasses held in her fingers. "Success~! Your eyes, sir." She shook off as much water as she could before gently placing them on Jerry's face. "You're welcome, darlin'. I was going to get you a piano last year but I didn't have quite the budget I had this year." She leaned back against the wall of the tub. "Think of it as my way if saying..thank you for not hating me." Candace's voice was soft as she assured him it was okay. She really was grateful for the fact that he didn't still hate her anymore. Candace liked having Jerry for a friend. Plus it wouldn't di to have a bazooka wielding Sun hunter having her on his bad side...

"And thank you for the socks. They're very comfortable." She was being honest.

"They don't really compare t a piano" Jerry mumbled, face still flushed (he hoped it seemed like from the heat of the tub), as he pushed them up his nose. "It... it was really too much. I mean. After... after what a... a crazy person I've been."

"Don't you think perhaps you being so crazy and unstable is why I felt you needed a piano?" Candace's smile was warm as she sank down a little in the tub so her head was against the edge, her eyes closed. "Music makes you happy. And I remember how overjoyed you were over the guitar. I like seeing you happy."

She shrugged. "If you want to give me something equal in value to a piano I won't stop you other than saying you don't need to. I like gifts, but I love spoiling those I cherish."

His eyes flickered down to the line of her bathing suit for just a moment before he glanced away, shifting to play with the controls on the side of the tub, "I hope you liked the poem at least, ahaha... I um. I wrote one for everyone. Took me ages." The piano had been amazing. "Jordan got me a mandolin too! I don't have much experience with it, learning how to play will keep be busy, definitely. You guys, seriously..." He looked nervous, but not on account of her bathing suit.

His friends giving him more instruments, probably with the same amount of concern and hope of cheer, had been moving, although the circumstance for their concern depressed him.

Just think about the potential music.

Candace missed the look to her chest, actually relaxing in the tub instead of watching Jerry's every little move and twitch. "Mm, I did like it. It was very thoughtful." She smiled and opened her eyes, sitting up a little. "They're definitely better than kazoos, yes. I give you props for writing a poem for everyone though! I don't think I could have done that." Candace looked impressed by the gift Jordan had given Jerry. A mandolin! That was another guitar, right? "We love you, Jerry. And we love seeing you happy." Candace moved to sit beside Jerry, not close enough to touch him though. "With what you've been through you more than deserve happiness." She didn't realize he was reading far too much into her and Jordan's intentions behind wanting to see Jerry happy. Candace just wanted to do something nice for a man she'd dragged through a lot of s**t.

"So other than Christmas, how have you been? I've been gone for awhile so I've apparently missed a lot.."

His blush returned at her encouragement. "A lot of people would think you and Jordan are just encouraging me to be more annoying ahaha."

"I've... I've been alright. Um. Some new scars," He lifted his arm out of the water where she could see the fresh pink gnaw marks from zombie teeth, "But alright otherwise. Where were you?"
PostPosted: Tue Jan 01, 2013 1:16 pm

"People like Rep?" Candace asked with a lot less cheer and friendliness than she had been showing Jerry before. "Why should you care if he thinks having fun and being yourself is annoying? It's Rep. His intolerance level is sometimes probably second only to Caelius on this island." He'd gotten better, noticeably so, but damn he was still Rep.

New scars? Candace blinked and looked down at the arm Jerry lifted for her to see, reaching out to trace her fingers around the scars without actually touching them. Were these bite marks? "How...uh..I was just off island helping another outpost with a horsemen threat..I came back like..the week before Christmas..." She frowned. More scars on Jerry..she didn't like it.

"So does this mean you're going to become a zombie~?" Candace teased, forcing away the worry of how he'd gotten the scar. He was a Sun. He'd be fine.

"These came from a freaking bear" He smiled awkwardly, motioning to the fresh pink marks that interupted his storm of chest hair. "Don't get me started on what they did to my legs, ahahaha. There was... an emergency mission. Horsemen and Halloween kind. I don't even really know what it was all about. I passed out toward the end, someone dragged me to safety." He happily let the subject of critics like Rep slide.

"A..a bear?" Candace followed the gesture to Jerry's chest, trying not to react visibly to it. So many scars. His legs?! Again?! "Oh I..I see..." She frowned. "I've missed a lot, huh?"

She reached out to touch Jerry again, stopping just short of his shoulder before her arm dropped again. "Well, I'm glad you're relatively okay." Candace smiled, leaning back against the wall once more. "I don't have any stories nearly that exciting."

"A bear, two zombies and... er..." His brows furrowed as he lowered the fingers he had been counting on, "What looked like a small hippo." He shook his head, "All I can say is I'm glad for perks like this," He patted the hot water with a sigh of relief.
