It is the place where the duchess of Veragua will stay. It is a quiet home barely outside the city. It is not permanent, since her true home is in Veragua.

“Come, come! We must eat supper,” said Adriana. Both were lead to the table, which was already set for them with many fine foods and drinks. Of course, only the best to satisfy the duchess. In this case, it would be shared with her lovely accompanist as well! Adriana was curious to the interests that Celeste had, perhaps there was something they shared.

Celeste looked at all the food that was on the table. "There is one thing I would like to see. I have heard that the ocean is really beautiful I have always wanted to see it." She began to put some food on to her plate.

“You've never seen the ocean?” she said, sounding surprised. “My dear girl, I must show you when I have the time,” she said. Hell, she considered having a whole party planned up at the ports for it. Anything to ease her boredom, and of course, Celeste's wish.

"I am afraid that being the slums does not get you places that one would want to go. I have always wanted to travel too." Celeste began to eat. Everything was so rich in flavor she was afraid that if she ate too much of it, it would make her sick.

“Well, you're lucky then, I will take you with me. However, you must do something. You need to be presentable. Are you aware of the principles of Ladyship?” asked Adriana. She was referring to things like table manners, dressing properly, always putting forward her best.

Celeste looked down at her plate. "I almost had the opportunity to learn. If my grandparents did not think I was dead I would have learned all about it but please they must not know that I am alive." She did not know why she said that but someone had told them when she had been saved from the fire.

“Fine with me, so long as you learn,” she said. Adriana called out to one of her servants, a servant woman named Satele. “Satele will teach you,” said Adriana, as she was stirring her tea.
Satele bowed and said, “Please, follow me, and we will begin.”

Celeste slowly got up and followed Satele. She was a little nervous but she then took a deep breath and the nerves calmed down. "So what will you teach?"

“We must fix your posture, firstly. Here, books, the classical way to fix posture. Stand up straight, walk with pride, and keep your balance,” said Satele, handing Celeste a few books to put over her head. Satele looked to her expectantly.
Adriana walked into the room and took a seat on one of the seats, eagerly watching Celeste's progress. Who knows? Maybe she might become a fully-learnt lady within a day.

Celeste took the books and stood up straight. She then put the books on her head. At first they looked like they were going to fall off but she regained the balance of the books. She started to walk almost loosing the books again. She held her head up a little higher and she had no more problems with loosing the books.

Adriana silently applauded at the sight of her first success.
“Good,” said Satele, lifting the books of her head and setting it aside. “Now, you must learn to dance, it is how a man will find you, aside from beauty that is,” she said, before taking Celeste's hands, as a practice dance-partner. “Careful steps, move with your partner. One, two, three, one, two three--” said Satele, moving like a dancer.

Celeste tried her best, she tripped over her feet several times but soon she was able to follow the moves. She had to pick up her dress a little bit so that she would not trip again. She loved to dance just not the way she was now learning.

“Impressive,” complimented the Duchess. Celeste was learning fast.
Satele nodded her head in approval and walked to the table. “Now, to dine like a lady,” she said, displaying how. Satele had carefully held the eating utensils, and ate from the small plate of food. Satele didn't get that much food, only a bit since it was an example. Also, they already ate earlier. When Satele was done, she wiped her mouth with a napkin. Maybe, just maybe, Celeste would be able to display the same manners on her own plate?

Celeste slowly looked at all silverware and finally picked up the right fork and knife. She then ate the food and patted the corners of her mouth with the napkin then sat it down on her lap once more.
