Here lies Aurora's Hidden Cottage, Built for her when The King and Queen Mother were still alive. 60 acres of open fields and wildflowers; with grand oak trees and a chorale where the Palace steeds lie.........

As Aurora walks out of the Palace, along with Monsieur Fernando at her side, she quickly takes in the fresh morning air, looking around the Palace to catch the sun in her eyes, feeling its rays of warmth on her skin. She decides to blindfold Monsieur Fernando and lock arms with him to lead him to her secret paradise, a few acres away from the Palace........
Aurora lead the Prince in one direction, a constant walk across the field of flowered straw and the smell of grass and hay along the way. The sky was clear as ever, with patches of clouds above them..she was too excited to show the Prince such beauty of nature seen before his eyes.
Aurora reached her destination, in front of her Hidden Cottage, where all her happy, joyful memories lie.........She finally takes off the blindfold on Monsieur Fernando, and backs away from him, setting herself in front of her cottage, glancing at it with a smile on her face the brightened more than ever......she softly turns to him and says from a distance.....
"Monsieur......welcome to my little piece of Heaven.............it is a sight to endure.........what do you think..Monsieur......?".....

Aurora gently returns a smile at him, for she was fascinated to see his expression of the wonder he has seen beyond the Palace walls......She then lead him to the stairs of her cottage and opened the front door, seeing how her servants have tidied the place after being covered and secured during the winter days.......Everything she could, once again, image; the elegant furnishings, the wooden carved table, filled with delicious crumpets and sandwiches along with tea for brunch already served, and all the cottage windows opened to let in the morning sunlight breeze..........she responds with an expression of satisfactory...
"This is the only place....where all my negative thoughts disappear...where I can listen to the birds sing by the great oak, where I read pleasantly in my little corner by the window, where no trouble, nor concern, reaches me........This is where I think about my childhood memories and feel the presence of my mother and father....where I can think of my plans for the future....and....where I can be at peace......"
Aurora looks through her porcelain window, feeling the fresh wind passing through her hair....she smiles and says...
"This is the one true place I call home...."

Príncipe Fernando el octavo de España After entering, he slid his hand across the wall, feeling the cottage. Most would probably see it as just another cottage. No, he understood its importance to Aurora, therefore seeing its worth as well. With a smile, he said, “So, what shall it be today? I'm sure you have plenty for us to do.” It was nice to see her so happy, reminding him that her happiness was much more important to him than his own.

Aurora makes her way to the little table for two and sits...She places her napkin piece on her lap and responds saying......
"Well Monsieur, I have much planned for you to see and we still have riding to do....but in the meantime.....I know you must be hungry...please join me for some tea and crumpets...."
She smiles at him, signaling him to take his seat across from her....Aurora was happy that she can satisfy Monsieur Fernando on her own, with no maids assisting in serving......She felt as if she ran her own little home, located in the center of the world, where no one will bother her; all that surrounds her was a positive aura and the beauty of nature....She then asks Monsieur Fernando, as she serves him some fine chamomile tea....
"Tell me Monsieur......what is your taste in horses..?" She smiles kindly...

Príncipe Fernando el octavo de España He happily took a seat across from her, and the food was nice. “I find horses as amazing companions. In fact, one saved my life, Falling off a tree and being saved by a horse makes you appreciate them a little more than most. Ever since, I favored horseback rides rather than carriage rides,” he said laughing.

Aurora zips her tea pleasantly as she was listening to the Prince's experience with horses. She felt more comfortable to speak to him about anything....she was happy that Monsieur Fernando shared past memories with her, having the idea that she is bonding well with him.......she softly giggles and replies...
"Well, you were very lucky to be saved by a horse Monsieur....I have a similar story myself..except...I wasn't saved...it was vice-versa.....I saved a horse from a rainy day...the poor creature was stuck in the mud, and as a child, I held its reins from a nearby tree and pulled with all my might out of the mud....I managed to pull it out to safety, but my Mother was not pleased....She told me that "a princess should never do such things, especially when it can cause me to injure myself"...She was right in a way...but I couldn't help but save this horse, struggling in the mud.........Surprisingly, I still kept that mare....she's a Friesian.....a beautiful steed.....though....I do not ride her as often...hopefully she will recognize me from so long........."
She laughs softly, eating a honey crumpet from the tray......glancing at the Prince with a bright smile...

Príncipe Fernando el octavo de España Fernando ate a crumpet from the tray before speaking. “Well, it is only fair that she remember her savior. You did an act of compassion, one memorable and deserving,” he said, attempting to raise her confidence of the horse remembering her. Funny that she saved a horse while he was saved by one, damned trees, last time he ever climbed a tree.

Aurora smiled pleasantly, thinking about how her conversation with the Prince was positive and graceful.......Seeing him smile made Aurora blush, though she realized that her pleasant time with the Prince brought in thoughts of Lucian.....haunting her once again in her mind....but remembering the time when Lucian invited her to the opera house and fixes her a delicious meal of rare coffee and gourmet food.......Aurora's smile turned into a slight frown, but turned her face away, taking a look through the window, to not show her expression to Monsieur Fernando........She then tried to relief herself from her lost love's memories by continuing with questions she simply wanted to find out from her fiance........she says softly,
"Monsieur.....do you have a place, a sanctuary, like this one, that you keep to yourself...? Somewhere peaceful, a place of thinking, and being one with such tremendous nature....?".......she asks, wondering how Spain is like....

Príncipe Fernando el octavo de España “Sí, I do have one. Earlier on, my uncle and I built a small cabin together in Cádiz. It was beside the beach. On my birthday, after the celebrations in the palace, my uncle and I would sneak out in the night, light candles for everything we are thankful for, then pray. After my uncle died, I continued to do so,” he said, looking above, as if his uncle were hearing him. And in his mind, Fernando knew he was. “I know every detail by heart. I planted flowers outside every time I could. I remember how we messed up slightly, to close to a tree when we built it, and a branch would stick out from the roof. We hung a small banner there, that we would decorate some more every year.”
His mind, dwelling in those memories, kept him happy. Fernando never told anyone that, not his friends, not his brother, not even his mother and father. It was their little secret. Aurora had done well to convince him to speak the secret. It was one he held dearly in his heart.

Aurora felt fascinated on the subject she brought up....listening and recapping the wonderful memories that were left for Monsieur Fernando, and herself. The memories of their past floated above them, shifting away with the spring breeze....she realizes that those precious memories creates who they are and what they want for their lives to be at peace.....Aurora was interested in the way the Prince detailed his cabin, and how beautiful it must be.....she asks...
"What a lovely memory to keep.....This place...your cabin, must be as precious as this place is to me....Perhaps, under the circumstances.....you can take me there one day........I would be happy to see it myself......"
Aurora was shy to ask, thinking about how her life with him can somehow be happy, in a way, where she can forget about Lucian and her love for him.......

Príncipe Fernando el octavo de España “I will be sure to try, when the opportunity arises,” he said, taking a bite out of the crumpet. He assumed they were going to head out on horses later, and if not, at least meet the horse she spoke of. However, it made him think future, and future involved marriage. It never left his mind, he only pushed it to the back of his mind so it wouldn't bother him as he tried to make Aurora more comfortable. Was it an arranged marriage? Well, in a way, since it was involving two nations. However, he gave the opportunity to say no. Fernando, noticing that he thought about it too much, pushed it back to the corners of his mind.

"Well Monsieur....I believe you are satisfied with brunch, we should be on our way to the chorale for a noon riding experience......but before we do.."
Aurora stands and heads to a nearby window, where she opens a top cabinet which held a tin box inside....She brings the box to the table and takes her seat, opening it to reveal a set of well-polished chocolates lined up neatly in rows.....Aurora smiles down at them, giggling at the sight, for it brought back more wonderful memories of her childhood....she then smiles at the Prince and explains of him about her laughter.....
"I'm sorry to laugh...but...this box.....these chocolates....was my "secret treasure" as a child....I remember my father hiding it from me, and making me locate them myself......I called it "my box of gold"..........But these chocolates are the finest of French sweets.....most of them carry a delicious genache inside, with well-covered dark chocolate.......my Father would always order them all the time....and everytime I come here, I always find a new batch just waiting for me to chew on......Like my father once shared with me this delicious gift....I shall share with you......."
She smiles and pushes the tin box towards Monsieur Fernando, wanting him to take his first pick of her fine sweet treat.......

Príncipe Fernando el octavo de España “Ah, but it was something you both shared. I don't know if I can do such a thing. It feels as if I am taking what is rightfully your father's to share,” he said in a humble manner. Yes, they looked delicious, but still, such a sweet memory. He didn't want to deny her, but he'd only do so if she insisted.
