Simply Soft is definitely really nice. I like a lot of the bamboo yarns, they feel pretty similar. Sugar and Cream is nice if you want just plain, washable cotton too.

I've been looking at Louet's yarns as well, and from the sample cards I purchased, their organic cotton is really nice, if you want a really fine yarn.

Is there a style or brand that you prefer above all?

I love red heart for the verity of colours but I love Caron for the one pounders. let me tell you. It helps out with all the black and white I have to use. I love both because of the easiness to use them like I do. it isn't rough or too soft on the fingers.
