Nicolas had just enough patience to keep his pace at a brisk walk until the moment the door to Devon Corporation closed behind him. Once he was fully outside, though, he broke into a brisk run as he made his way through the city, apologizing to whoever he may have bumped into in his haste. He had a job to do and couldn't afford to slow down for just anyone, especially not if it wasn't important for him to do so.
He had to grab a lamp post as he reached the intersection he was looking for so that he could turn quick enough without slowing down too much and avoid running into the gate on the opposite end of the street. Business as usual for him. Use the environment to your advantage and don't mess up too badly, a normal mindset for a trainer that had gotten far in the league challenge. Well, it was normal for him, anyway. High-tier trainers tended to veer off towards the odd end of things. He dodged and weaved his way past the slight group of people that were walking the same route he needed to run through while avoiding breaking his stride as much as possible.
Nicolas was in a bit of a hurry, though not enough to have his Vibrava fly him there. He was just heading to Lavaridge, a long trip, but not enough for him to want to do more than have his friend do more than fly alongside him as he made his way there. He just loved having any excuse he could to run somewhere, yet another reason why he loved his job. As long as he wasn't late, but unless something really bizarre happened to him on his way there, that wasn't likely to happen. Then again, strange things had happened in the past, so it was probably best to not take too many chances. With that in mind, he made a mental note to himself to let out Quartz after he got through Verdanturf Town.
