[Enter from Rustburo City]
Nicolas had a grin come over his face as he heard the sound of his footsteps change from the clattering of running across stone to the soft thumping of speeding along a dirt road. Of course, that sound didn't last long and was soon replaced by the rustling of grass as he rushed through the greenery and made his way through the route. The trainer didn't bother to slow down and apparently wasn't second guessing what path he needed to take. He had his route figured out already and knew that deviating from it would just slow him down.
The route was actually fairly simple, especially for someone who knew their way around the portion of the region he needed to travel through. First was a hike through Rusturf Tunnel to get to Verdanturf City. After that was a dash through Route 117 to get to Mauville City, where he would have to pause to catch his breath before running off again. Finally, he needed to go through Routes 111 and 112, taking another pause afterwards so he didn't overexert himself, before heading through the Fiery Pass and ultimately reaching his destination, Lavaridge Town. Even someone not familiar with the region could probably follow that path with few problems.

Nicolas continued dashing through the route, not really caring too much that night had already fallen. It was bound to be somewhat dark in the tunnel anyway, so it wasn't like that part of the trip bothered him. Besides, it was usually quite foggy inside Rusturf Tunnel anyway, so it wasn't like it would matter much whether it was light or dark outside. Of course, that didn't mean he shouldn't be careful, since thugs and the like tended to be more active during nighttime hours. The last thing he wanted was a blemish like getting beat up by some punks on his record when he only had to deliver the package he was carrying before he could start his well-earned vacation.
He had to suppress a chuckle as he ran through the tunnel entrance, engulfed by the fog as he continued on his way. It seemed he had missed the horde of Zubat flying out to look for their meals, so the only sounds in the tunnel were his footsteps on the rocky ground and the light snoring of the Whismur that called the area their home. Thankfully the path had been cleared out a long time ago, so he didn't have to worry about sending out Fang and slowing down enough to give the Mightyena a chance to break the rocks that would have completely stopped him years ago. All he had to do was keep running and make sure he remembered to turn at the corner.
"Ah! Ow..." he exclaimed when he suddenly slammed into a wall, quickly realizing his mistake and shutting up soon after. He had misjudged how far he went and ran smack into the tunnel wall instead of turning when he needed to. Nicolas quickly looked around to see if any of the sleeping Whismur had been startled awake by his exclamation and was somewhat relieved when they weren't. The last thing he wanted to deal with was a swarm of sleepy and annoyed Whismur, especially since he was still in a hurry and was losing time. Since it seemed that it wasn't a problem, he quickly dusted himself off and dashed out the exit of the tunnel.
[Exit to Verdanturf Town]
((OOC: Hopefully this is okay. If not, just say so and I'll see about meshing most of what was in here into my previous post. Just trying to get the character moving so he can finish his "work" and get on with actually doing other stuff.))
