There are numerous differences. One of which you pointed out was how they'll add clothes if they think it's too skimpy. Some of the monsters are naked and they put dresses on them or make them all glowy. Sort of like what they did to Noa when he was keeping Gozaburo from leaving the Virtual World.
There are also dialogue changes. Anzu/Tea doesn't go on and on about the friendship circle, for one. She mentions it only once, according to my memory. Jou isn't as stupid as Joey. The original Kaiba isn't as stuck up as the English Kaiba is. Let's just say, in the original version they all have more depth than the one-dimensional personalities they are given in the dub.

Oy crying I want to see the japanese so badly. It's supposed to be a lot better. I can always tell when they change a monsters outfit too. Its so obvious to anyone who's looking for it too. They have no lineart where they're covered up. They make annoying culteral changes too sometimes. I've mostly noticed it with food in YGO GX. One time Jaden asked Chazz if he was going to finish his mashed potatoes (and some wierd meat) because he wanted to eat it. When I looked at the plate chazz had rice and (it looked like) breaded shrimp on his plate. It was so confusing. Plus Chumley always seems to want 'grilled cheese'. Do they even have that in japan? And They turned the sake Cumley's dad has into hot sauce. I saw original screen caps and the bottle wasn't a horrid red color, it was clear. Plus they remove any japanese symbols from the show. Any posters, signs, or marks on things seem to dissappear. Same with weopons or any major violence or injury (no blood). The best example of that is the duel mosters cards. They also remove weopons (knives/guns) or any major violence or injuries (no blood). I wonder how much all of this change costs them. And it probably delays the show alot. They play new eppisodes for a while, and then sometimes they don't play any news ones for two to four weeks at a time! Rediculous

I laughed so hard when I saw they had changed it to hot sauce. It was obvious it was originally a sake bottle. rofl And the 'Dizzy Tiger' who drank too much hot sauce?? Ohmyflippin'gosh I nearly fell out of my chair laughing! But I have noticed that 4Kids doesn't only do that with YGO/GX, it also does it with Pokemon. O_o! I guess rice balls (along with most if not all Japanese food) are evil, so they cannot show up in any Japanese made show if it's played in America!! O:

And thus proves my theory that American Dubbers (more precise, 4kids) are idiots.
If they see an anime that has a bit of blood and gore and is OBVIOUSLY PG13, they just butcher it so hard and so many times it's smaller (and less interesting) than a pebble.
I say to F*@kin^ H3ll with f*%^*^g 4kids and let another, and better dubber fill in!
I'm a pinay, so i don't get to see the American dub (thank goodness...) I saw the Singaporean english dubbed one. Absolutely superb, ripped right off the manga with no changes at all. I was even confused when i saw Yugi's mom, since there was no mention of her in battle city or duelist kingdom. The voices are superb too. and the dialogue. None of that 'Yami' nonsense, he doesn't have a name in that series, people!!!
Okay, my 4kids bashing session is done now.

I wouldn't say ripped right out of the manga, but probably less stuff taken out. The dubbers cut out Yuugi's mom. gonk The only thing I can figure is that they figured people would be too confused about her all of a sudden showing up. confused And they didn't want to try and explain who she was. Who knows.
The dubbers listened to the fans when they gave him the name 'Yami'. That's why I think for all the names that have Ls and Rs, they switch them. Malik changed to Marik, Varon changed Valon, etc., because they're afraid the fans are giving them fan names again. Or maybe I'm over-analyzing.

That reminds me of a Pok'emon eppisode! Ash and the others ordered a plate of Croquets (a japnese dish of course. Although I don't think it came from japan... sweatdrop ) and they called them something weird. I don't remember. I think I yelled at the tv. rofl And in the beginning of Pok'emon they called rice balls dougnuts I think. XD I remember thinking "those are some wierd lookin' doughnuts but they look tasty!. Its scary how much they actually edit in YGO. Haven't they even cut out an entire eppisode before? And they've chopped out parts of the story line too =_=. Like when Bakura fought Pegasus, and Malik and Bakura met in an alley to discuss their plot. And there are other parts I can't remember. The only way I know about them is by hearing them from other people/manga/screenshots, etc. I wonder how much money they waste taking so much time to cut a bunch of stuff out for all their shows.

I didn't know they cut out a whole episode. O_o But yeah, they've butchered a lot of YGO episodes, and a lot of the scenes they cut out were really random. Oh, they also messed with the letters on Bakura's Ouija board. I guess just the mention of death would traumatize kids.
And that reminds me (don't worry, I think this is on topic) of the end of the 2nd season of Digimon. They killed off Arukenimon (sp?), but VenomMyotismon only freaked her out. A mom wrote in about that and said she and her kids thought that it was really disturbing how she just burst into data. My point is, they should just put death in there. It's not like if a grandparent dies, the kid's parents are going to tell them "Grampa was sent to the Shadow Realm, but he's not dead!" ...that would probably freak them out more, in fact. ._.
EDIT:
...wait, 4Kids didn't do Digimon, did they? ...oh well, you still get my point. XP I hope.

Digimon was owned by Fox Kids (still remembers when the channel existed) *sigh* the good old days... Anywho...
I do think they cut out an entire YGO episode. It was in duelist kingdom. I'm not really sure what happened but Ryou, Tristan and T'ea were snooping around the castle. I remember looking for the eppisode (when I saw screen shots of it) in reruns on tv and on DVD boxes at the store but found no trace of it.
And it is annoying when they skip over death in shows like YGO and such. (The "Shadow realm"!? wth...) It messes with the plot, and confuses people like you and me who know the true nature of YGO but still don't know all the facts or have access to the original episodes

Are you talking about the one when they get inside Pegasus's room and find out about Cecilia (I think that's her name)? O_o Or are you talking about a different episode? sweatdrop I haven't seen DK in a long time, and it doesn't help that I probably missed a few since I hated YGO when it first came out. sweatdrop

They also cut out a Battle City episode, but it was a useless recap episode anyway.

I just remembered something from GX. Do you remember when Syrus ran away and was going to leave the island? He left Jaden and Chumley a letter and Chumley read it. But his eyes were moving up and down and he looked reeeally creepy. I can't believe they kept it in there. I'm sure it scared/confused the heck out of little kids who don't know Japanese is written from up to down.
