Chacho was excited, the game was finally released. She had already logged into the game, and nothing seemed out of place. The cait was meandering the town, watching as hundreds of character began logging in and looking around excitedly. She could see groups of friends logging in at a time, laughing at each others armor and looks, she saw individuals who logged in and began racing for the hunting grounds, looking to level as fast as possible. The girl giggled, flicking her hand in front of her and looking at her menu. She selected her gear, and looked through it, she had nothing she had acquired in the beta test and all of her stats were set back to level one. Closing her menu, she shrugged, she expected as much, but it was a still a bit of a bummer.

Chacho looked around. She was looking for her two companions, who had apparently not logged in yet. Or, if they had, they were lost in the ever growing throng of players. They were the ones who had convinced her to be a beta tester with them, she was not much of a gamer; the first time she had ever played a MMORPG was with them. Now, without her two companions, she seemed lost, shouldering through excited new players.

XXXHe loaded with his eyes closed, standing in the middle of the plaza in the Town of Beginnings. He opened his eyes, looking through his aviators at his hands with a large grin on his face. It was amazing how many people downloaded the game, even though there were multiple warnings on the website about how there was no logout option inside the game. Everyone was smiling, enjoying their new found life. He opened his menu, and looked at the time. Chacho should have logged in by now; meaning she was alone somewhere in the town alone. He took off in a sprint, his speed being monumentally slower than it was in the testing phases that he went through hours before. Being level one would take some getting use to. He weaved through the crowds effortlessly, making his way through the city with ease. While the design was completely new, being the creator he knew the first level like the back of his hand. All that was left now was to find his best-friend somewhere in the highly populated area.

Rounding a corner, he spotted the long flowing red hair of his friend through the densest crowd he had seen yet; of course, about 39% of those who had registered before he logged in were Cait Sith, so their spawn area was the most dense of the races. He formed his aqua colored wings, and flapped once, sending him in an upward spiral, looping around at a very high speed to swoop down and pick up his friend in his arms, before flying off to land on a nearby rooftop. Putting her safely down on her feet, he landed a few feet away, his wings disappearing into his back. "CHACHOO~!" He yelled loudly, rushing forward in a leap to embrace his friend, picking her up and spinning her around in joy. "I'm glad you decided to play! What do you think about the graphic equalizer? I enhanced it from the old template used by SAO and ALO, to allow the approximate 600 megapixel vision from the normal human eye to transfer over to this world as well." He said, obviously loosing himself in his excitement. No one here would know that he created this small world besides his few friends; that didn't mean he couldn't brag about it when he was out of ear-shot of any other players.

Chacho was done screaming. Being swooped up off the ground had startled her into a loud shriek, and it trailed away as she received her hug and realized who her 'kidnapper' was. Her tail twitched in embarrassment and amusement as her best friend began to ramble, then she realized what he was rambling about. The cait's mouth dropped open as she stared wondrously at Teddy. Teddy Bear...you did this?! She turned to look around at her environment with new-found appreciation. She knew he was capable of doing this, she never in a million years though he would. The noisy drone of the crowd below them had gotten louder; hundreds were still logging on, running around, exploring, making parties, shopping with what little starter Col they had. She turned back to Teddy. It's beautiful...absolutely beautiful She murmered, But why did you take away the logout button? She had known before logging in, but unfortunately, a lot of people had not read the box at all, much less the warnings. Chacho didn't care, she had always wanted an escape, but many were only looking for one temporarily. People are excited, they arn't going to try to log out now, but give it an hour, and they realize they can't. Then what. A gentle breeze carried her thigh-length hair up and swirling around her slight features. She looked like a child, with a baby face, large eyes, and a small frame. But her otherwise charming features were laced with concern as she looked up at her friend.

XXXThrough all of the excitement, he had forgotten that this was his secret project. He rubbed the back of his head and sat down, leaning back and feeling the breeze through his hair. He had heightened the feeling of everything here; everything felt, looked, and seemed real. "Yeah, it took a while to get the initial software and route it through the appropriate networks in order for me to test everything, but yeah. I did indeed. And thank ya kindly." He said, mimicking a bow with a large grin. With the mention of the logout button, or lack of one, his face turned serious as he returned his gaze back to the horizon. "I might be the only person from SAO who actually misses it. The risk, the rush of knowing that the end is the end. Everyone else adapted to life back in the real world relatively easily, and most helped cope with ALO. But the option for logging out seemed ... too easy." He said, closing his eyes and leaning his head back as the wind picked up slightly, tussling his hair about freely. "If it was possible, i wouldn't mind living here for the rest of my life. Plus, if someone removes the gear from the outside, it won't kill them, just log them out and take them back a level or two in stat penalties." He then returned his gaze back to chacho, taking off his sunglasses to reveal his eyes. His avatar was his appearance in real life; his heterochromatic eyes would lead others to guess otherwise. "Plus, there will be an announcement soon enough. And i have access to the moderator panel, so anyone who is put through genuine distress from the fact that this is their new world will be forcibly logged out without the option to return to the game. Just as a precaution to prevent psychological trauma like in SAO." He said, lying down against the cool tiled roof. Even though it was a grave topic, he talked about it with such a calm tone. In his mind, this was his life. The blade was what he knew, combat was the air he breathed, and magic came just as naturally to him as babies taking their first steps. He wanted to be in this world forever; and, this time, no beater would be able to end his adventure prematurely. He adjusted the bow on his back, sighing lightly. "I just remembered something. There's an NPC near by with my starter weapon on hold; wanna come pick it up with me before the streets become too crowded? He asked, smiling widely. He was truly ecstatic to be back in this body; his real body.

With a swipe of her hand, a simple rapier appeared, strapped to Chacho's side. She remained quiet. She really didn't want to ask the next question. She remembered SAO all too well. She had seen many of her friends die, just from being killed inside a game. She really didn't want to ask what would happened if they died in game here. What he said made sense, people who couldn't handle it would be removed. That wasn't terrible. It wasn't being completely locked in. Wordlessly, she jumped back into his arms, wrapping her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist, waiting for him to lift off. What if...What'll happen if I get killed this time...She asked herself. Unconsciously her ears flattened and her face was buried in Teddy's chest. Then suddenly a little ping interrupted her thoughts. She opened her eyes and flicked her menu open from behind her companions head, still hanging on. A new skill had popped up, one she didn't recognize or see in the manual. Resurrection? She mumbled to herself. Was this a unique skill? She cocked her head, reading the details on the skill. Able to resurrect any player within 10 seconds of dying. Can only be used 3 times every 24 hours. She looked up at Teddy, curiosity written across her features.

XXXEven though she didn't speak what was on her mind, he already understood what was going through her mind. Naturally, she would be wondering what would happen if one were to inevitably die in this version of hell that he had learned to call home. He decided that it was best that he only answer her question if she asked him directly about it, and hugged her back, kissing the top of his head before his wings appeared on his back. He started to rise slowly, but took off in the directing of the Undine marketplace. In the skies, people had just remembered that flight was enabled exactly as it was in ALO, and the skies soon became populated with people getting the grasp of the flight program. It was obvious who was familiar with the program and who wasn't, most obviously by the people crashing into walls, roofs, and the ground at varying speeds. He found his target destination, and landed smoothly. That was when he noticed Chacho's puzzling glance toward him. "If you're inquiring about the unique skill, it is indeed that. Every player gets one or two of 'em to help out in the actual playing of the game." He started, leading her toward a weapon booth as the NPC seemed to notice him from afar, grabbing a cloth wrapped sword from beneath the table and preparing the trade. Of course, he pulled an a** move and got his beginner sword at no cost. Accepting the trade, he quickly equipped it to his hip. "Did you not think something about a unique skill generator when i had a bow and arrows instead of a sword? I kinda wanted archery for myself." He chuckled lightly, leading her through the crowd of predominantly blue avatars. Even though forced appearances weren't apart of this version of SAO, many ALO players liked to remain true to the appearances generated by the specific races. Placing an arm around her waist, he generated his wings and lifted them up to the nearest rooftop. "So what would you like to do? We have an endless amount of time to do whatever." He said, spinning around rapidly with his arms outstretched, a large grin plastered on his face.

Chacho cocked her head, flipping her hair over her shoulder. I want to grab a bite honestly. I didn't eat before I logged in. The thought of death still plagued her mind, but she shoved it away, deciding to enjoy herself why she was here. Back in the beta, she was an expert flier, it was the first thing she had set out to learn, and she knew the controls by heart. Her slight frame gave her an extra one up, being so light, she was able to flit around quickly and efficiently. Without warning, her shimmery gold wings appeared from her back and she zipped off, weaving between buildings and new fliers. She was making a beeline for her favorite in-game restaurant. In a dual, Teddy would win, no questions asked. Flying however, was her forte.

Jayson Matthews

Laying on the Hammock in the large room Jay listened to the hum of tiny gears racing with electric enthusiasm in his hands. He had been laying here for a fair five minutes, debating on if he should put the helmet on. He mentally re-read the warning label...The use of this product may cause Fatal Injury/Death, use at Player's discrestion...He exhaled deeply, as he turned his head to look at his phone. He checked to see if he had any calls when he knew he hadn't...Procrastinating again... He thought as he closed his eyes. Letting loose one last sigh he growled to himself, "Ahh hell..." He slid the Helmet onto his head, his NerveGear running on full Sync. Jayson smiled as he thought of the world he now left behind...Excitement for the one ahead of him swelled in him, as his vision faded into white.

The ground seemed to warp beneath his feet, all of the layers digitizing before his artificial eyes. He smiled when he realized the formatting style, and how each strand of data had his signature incripted. Well done Taki.... He thought as his hands phased into the digital realm.

Jayson looked to his left as his upload completed. The window he was staring at belonged to a shop door, and mirrored his image. He stretched his back, and rolled his neck. He waved his left hand and checked his stats. Level 1 again....Fun. He went to his 'PC OPS' menu, and selected the only option presented: 'Steelyard'
Jayson's Royal purple irises darkened until they were completely black, then a white blur formed a white gear in the dark circle. The cheat did absolutely nothing of value, other than create different eye designs on the Avatar. He smiled and pulled his hood up, as he started to pres through the building crowd. Eventually he began to run in the little space provided, passing through incomplete player uploads. Damn, I bet they're gonna be laggy... He thought sliding under a large armored man, who had been standing in his path. Jayson reached up to his right shoulder with his right hand. His left hand flicked the air in front of him scanning the selections before him. He saw a darkened slot with a gold padlock on it. The padlock read '10' in grey color. Jayson flicked back and selected his Beginner's weapon: Bolrikai. The blade flashed in red sparks, and strapped itself onto his back. He reached the city outskirts and entered the Hunting grounds. He didn't plan to be so low on the totem Pole for very long.

XXXOnce she rocketed off, a large smile spread across his face. The fact that she was light gave her a speed advantage, but the fact that he had memorized the flight algorithms gave him knowledge of the maximum speed that could be reached during flight. He gave her a ten second head start, his wings moving restlessly in preparation. They moved upward and then downward before he seemed to disappear, a giant wind gust causing the players below to scream in surprise. He quickly caught up to her and lowered his speed to match hers, laughing joyously beside her. "Since I created the flight module, i have access to the fastest speed setting physically possible in this world. And i've been testing this version for months now, and i spent a week on mastering extremely fast flight patterns." He taunted, sticking his tongue out in jest. His wings disappeared as he hit the ground, performing acrobatics in order to land safely on his feet at the door of the restaurant, other players gazing at him in awe. One bystander asked the player beside him if it was an event. He hadn't realized how fast they were going, but Chacho had just landed beside him. He looked down the stretch of road that extended toward the restaurant, and he had narrowly avoided knocking over a multitude of people with his handsprings and whatnot. He waved nervously, and entered the tavern with Chacho. While she took a seat at a booth, we went up to the counter and ordered food and two pints of water. Returning with the food and beverages, he placed them down on the table and began to eat with her. "As soon as we clear this floor and the cooking skill is unlocked, i'm going to spam the s**t out of cooking some grub so i can master it in no time." He said, laughing as he took a bite of the plain looking sandwich infront of him. It still tasted delicious, even for a D-class meal. "Oh yeah, and i also enhanced the flavor module so everything tastes better than it would in the real world. If this is a D-class meal, imagine what an S-class meal would taste like." He said, imagining the dish whilst eating the sandwich. Once they got to a high enough level, he would have to scour the hunting grounds for S-class ingredients.

Chacho laughed, biting into her sandwich and shaking her head at Teddy. He had truly intended to live here. On the outside, this life would seem perfect, but the girl couldn't help but feeling an underlying danger. We need to start hunting after this, before everyone else wises up. When it gets too crowded, unless you've changed it, we could just go back to our secret hunting grounds. A wide impish grin spread across her face. She and Teddy had claimed an out of the way spot as their own hunting place. Many people thought the floating islands around the tower were just for looks. But one of them was inhabited by low level creatures. Granted, it was just barely too far to fly, but with their speed, they were just able to make it. Chacho scarfed down the rest of her sandwich, eager to get going and get a head start. With a sigh, she lay back, just to be startled by another notification ping. Annoyed, thinking someone had messaged her, the cait grumpily flicked open her menu. But instead of a welcome message, there was another unique ability. She realized with a start as she recognized it, that this had been hers in the beta too. Magic/Melee? Wh- I was awarded this in the beta testing, why do I have it again? As she learned in the beta, this allowed her to use sword skills and magic simultaneously. With wonder she ogled at her two skills. Did you change the skill coding? I didnt think you could have two unique skills... She stood, done with her meal, and smoothed her skirt down, closing her menu, and once again looking inquisitively at her friend.

XXXAlso scarfing down his sandwich, he nodded before standing up. When she mentioned the skill, the other players in the tavern turned to look at her, he grabbed her wrist and led her out. "Most people get one unique skill, some none, some two. But most people won't be getting theirs until the appropriate levels, so as of right now only the people who i physically touch get their unique skills right off the bat. And some players who are selected at random." He whispered, walking briskly with the Cait Sith down the street. He was constantly checking their 6 o'clock, making sure no one from the tavern was trying to follow them. He got to the nearest area of the Town that was the closest place to launch from to reach the floating island that they called theirs. He had rigged the floating islands to have low level monsters that had a relatively high respawn rate, meant to the the hunting grounds for him and his close friends to bulk up before the boss fight. This game was monumentally harder than SAO, and unexperienced fighters had rushed into the field without a second thought. Before take off, he opened his menu when no one was looking and pulled up his GM tab; already, 12 players had been killed. Not a lot, but all of these players had no registry on either the old SAO database not on the ALO database. He sighed lightly before he took off, a large gust of wind blowing through the nearby streets and he launched towards their secret island.

Chacho allowed herself to be grumpily dragged along. And as Teddy took off, she followed close behind, matching him move for move. As they grew closer, she felt her wings begin to fade, and by the time they had, she was dropping onto the soft earth.

Gregory Benzin Markus
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Markus just got home from a little trip to the grocery store. Jogging into the kitchen he instantly began to work. He was in a rush putting away all the food in the correct places they needed to be. Mother would be pleased to see there was some food in the house when she got home. She wouldn't be home for awhile though. The rush wasn't for her sake, it was for his. Today a game he had been looking into was released. He wanted all the time in the world to play it. After all it was going to be a mix between a favorite of his and one game he never got a chance with. All the food was now stored away and the young man scurried up stairs. Bashing open the door he ran into his own room smashing the door behind him. He was excited to say the least. Instantly he began to get things prepared. Everything started to run properly which was good. If a technical issue would prevent him from playing it would of destroyed his whole night. Jumping onto the bed he quickly grabbed his NerveGear helmet putting it on. Within moments he was transferred into the new world.

What seemed like in just a blink of an eye he wasn't in his room no more. Instead what lay before him was a plaza full of many other plays just like him. A smile appeared on his face at the peer eagerness he felt. Out of curiosity he made his way over to the nearest building. Looking into the window he attempted to look at his own reflection. His lips curled to a satisfied grin. Though in this new world he was no longer Markus. Instead his new persona was Gregory Benzin. It wasn't exactly a new persona. In truth it was the same name he used while playing ALO. Even his own avatar looked exactly the same as his old one. The appearance transfer was a success. He even took a moment to open up his menus checking to see if anything else was transferred. Unfortunately for him he was back down to level one and his stats with it. With a shrug he continued to flip through the menus with a flick of his hand. Looking into his inventory he saw that he had nothing at all. Not even a weapon. Peering over his shoulder he was able to see other players handling all kinds of basic swords. Why did they all get a weapon and not him? Just then a notification showed up for him which got his attention back to the menus. A new skill had appeared in his skill section.

"...Lancer?" Gregory whispered to himself just before another notification popped up. Going to it he saw that a new item appeared in his inventory. It was a weapon. The title of the weapon was just called 'Standard Issue'. Equipping it quickly he realized it wasn't even a sword. Unlike the other players his starting weapon was a spear. He took a moment to swing the pole arm around a little. The weight on this thing was perfect for him. Like it was intentionally made for him. With a smile he said to himself, "Not bad. Not bad at all. I am liking this already. " He spouted out a cheerful laugh before placing the weapon on his back. It was nice that it came with a strap too. Carrying a long weapon in hand for long periods did get tiring. Now wasn't the time to sit around though. Many of the other players were taking off leaving the town. Some by foot and others by air. He himself wasn't exactly fond of flying to much. Mainly he would forget about it most of the time. Other people thought he was an idiot for that but he considered himself a ground person anyways. Today though he decided to break his usual mind set. Gold mechanical looking wings sprouted out of his back. Using a little push from his legs he boosted himself up into the air. Quickly adjusting to the controls he headed towards a beautiful field in the distance. It was time to begin his adventure.

Calvin Sinclair

Cal opened his eyes as he logged on to the game and found himself staring at all the other players that were just now appearing in the plaza. He stretched a little and tapped his glasses. The inside began to glow green as everyone in his view began to have tags of information attached to them. He frowned as he realized that not much was said about... well anything yet. He turned off his ability and looked through his menu. He checked under abilities and looked at his unique skill. He pressed the skill that read Analyze and checked it with a frown, "Ah, that makes sense. Mostly everyone is practically starting over here, so there isn't much to look into. So, now my ability is only in the adolecence stage." He whispered to himself as he checked what regular skils he had. He found something familiar to him and checked it. Wing Blade was one of his main defense and offense abilities, and mainly his only one so far. Unfortunately, the power of Wing Blade has been reduced a bit. He sighed in annoyance, with a hint of agreement, about how it was like starting all over again. Oh well, he figured that here he could make a fresh start and start practicing his skills again. Cal decided to headed off after he checked his item menu and found a suitible weapon waiting for him, and made his way to the hunting area for some warm ups.
