Hideyoshi sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose before he crossed his arms over his chest. When he noticed her grabbing her Shogi board he just sighed once again, resisting the urge to palm his face in disappointment. She had done a whole stack of papers, that was pretty good for an hour..however it was still a bit disappointing to know that in an entire hour she'd only gotten one stack of paperwork done. Shaking his head he glanced at Nigel, watching as the younger boy went about replacing the pieces in the correct order, it was rather boring watching him set the pieces, you could tell by the way he grabbed them and placed him that he'd almost never played Shogi. It was upsetting to the young Hakemoto, Shogi was a game based on strategy and planning, seeing someone who hadn't played it before made Hideyoshi frown at him before looking back at Takara as she singed the papers. Her calligraphy was sloppy and horribly-done and it caused Hideyoshi to just sigh, grabbing the papers before holding them to his chest as he walked to the small area he'd set up for himself to wait whilst Takara dealt with her business.

Whilst she spoke with the remaining people in the room Hideyoshi set to signing the papers, his hand gliding across the sheets, his calligraphy a complete opposite of Takara's. Hideyoshi writing was neat and easy to read, and he did it almost twice as fast as her, something he'd gained after nearly ten years of writing. After finishing ten or so of the papers he pulled his book out, named "Hakemoto clan techniques: Basic Through Advanced" the book his father wrote. Even after reading it for what seemed to be the thousandth time he memorized the entire thing from cover to cover, but yet he still refused to learn anything from it. He'd devoted seven years of his life training in Kenjutsu, in a style he himself created called Shigure Souen. It was a style based on speed and faints, oftentimes striking from one direction before abruptly switching to the other, causing the opponent to become confused and be unable to respond to the attack.

Some of the techniques were random, dropping the sword before kicking the hilt, causing the blade to launch at the enemy, sometimes even killing them before they could react. A kick was hard to notice when you have to pay attention to the wielders hands waiting for some type of Jutsu or Taijutsu to be used on them. At the time of creating it he decided he wanted some cool looking techniques, flashy ones that would make people look at him in awe..but in time he began to see that stealthy was the way to go, tricky..so he developed techniques like Last Minute Rain, a technique that had him drop his Katana before kicking the hilt, sending it slicing towards the enemies head or chest. He still had many techniques he had yet to learn, but it was simply because he wasn't physically strong enough or fast enough to use them. Or it was sometimes caused by his lack of time that he had by being Takara's Secretary. He didn't mind being her secretary but he just wished there were times when he was able to train in peace, which didn't happen often.

When he was able to do all the techniques he'd created then and only then would he move on to the Hakemoto clan techniques, he felt it useless to rely on one set of skills, so he himself would be branching out from Kenjutsu to Iryo Jutsu, then Genjutsu, and then most likely his clan techniques, though he wasn't certain. For all he knew Takara could decide to train him in all Genjutsu, of course he would deny that and work on his own, but it could still happen and take up a lot of his time. When Minato began leaving he spoke to Tachibana before turning to Hideyoshi, he didn't mind being scolded at times, but when it was about something he knew it frustrated him. So with a scoff he replied to Minato. "Do you not think I know this? I myself have played Shogi for nearly thirteen years, I understand the appeal in it..however when you run a village it's different, you shouldn't be sitting around playing a board game when you should be finishing all your paperwork before doing so." Was all he said before going back to his book, he wished dearly that he could get the book restored, considering it was nearly falling apart from being opened so many times, but he just didn't have the money or time to have it done.

Even if he did have the Ryo to do so he knew he couldn't last the time needed without the book. After his father passed away it was almost all he read now, he hadn't picked up another book in almost two years, he couldn't explain to any person why..it just happened. Even after all those years of his father being gone he still read the book, the same book he'd read thousands of times, the same book that was nearly falling apart after all the years of being read. Hideyoshi had memorized every word, every sentence in the book, every phrase and every way to explain a technique, but it was all useless information in his mind..if his father had spent time training Hideyoshi instead of doing who knows whatever the man did then perhaps he wouldn't be reading a book, and he'd actually know everything he needed to. Knowledge was good to have, but when it was about something as easy to teach as his clan techniques it was disappointing to have in his mind..he would never teach someone his techniques, his clan would most likely die with him, never moving forward..never continuing on. Passing techniques on had no point in Hideyoshi's mind, perhaps if he had a child..which was unlikely as a Shinobi, most shinobi only live to be in their late twenties or early thirties, and those are usually the extremely powerful ones that could kill most Chunin like Hideyoshi without even trying. Of course Hideyoshi would get stronger with time, but it was just unlikely he would ever be one of those types of people, the type of person that would become a Kage, or the type that would think themselves to be some sort of god..arrogant people who believed they were of a higher "form" than humans like Hideyoshi.

After his thoughts finally came back to the current time he frowned, closing the book with a snap before putting it safely in his pocket, turning back to the papers on his "desk", a sigh escaping his lips before he set out once again, signing them as fast and neat as possible. Perhaps he could get off early and convince Takara to train him today, that would be amazing..he needed to train if he was ever going to become a Jounin, not to say he wanted to train constantly to do so, he just wanted to work whenever he could whilst he wasn't busy, slowly getting stronger. He wasn't like these Genin and Chunin who constantly trained to become a higher rank, people who dreamed about being the strongest, the best in the world were stupid in his eyes. Strength wasn't everything..knowledge was the best tool to have in a battle, without knowledge power was useless.

Without the proper mind to harness the strength one held there was no point in having it..it was simply something that would be a waste of time and space. After he finished half of the stack of papers he had he sighed, glancing over at Nigel and Takara, he was waiting for Nigel to scream in frustration, to give up and leave. It was mean of him to think of a fellow student that way, but the happy attitude of the young man frustrated him to no end, why be happy and make yourself look like a fool just to put a smile on someones face? It was stupid to a person like Hideyoshi, a person who cared little for another persons happiness, no one would see him act like a moron to make someone smile, never giving his life for someone he didn't know. He loved the new Genin of Kumogakure, that was for sure..but he wouldn't give his life for any other village, he wouldn't give his life for Konoha or Kiri, only his own village.

With a sigh he finished signing the remaining six papers, walking over to Takara's desk he set them flat on the side of it, walking back over to couch he usually sat at, crossing one leg over the other as he focused on the remaining people in the office, Nigel and Takara, one his fellow student, the other his teacher and leader. "Nigel..take your time when you move, Shogi isn't about fast moves..it's about thinking, planning ahead..if you rush into a game of Shogi with any person, especially a person like myself or Takara-dono, even if it takes you fifteen minutes to make a move it wouldn't matter, so long as you don't rush into it. In the end this will help you down the road when you eventually become a Jounin and take on students of your own, you'll be able to teach them strategies and ways to handle a fight. If you don't understand something just ask, one of us will explain it to you so long as you truly wish to know about it." His voice was rather cold, it usually was when speaking to people, he didn't mean for it to be that way but it just happened. His voice was heavily accented, something he was made fun of for when he was younger, no one knew where he got his accent, it was just there..and whilst it wasn't a funny sounding accent it was surely amusing to see a child running around with it. Now that he was older it tended to lead to women and girls flirting with him, he'd had a fan-club formed for him, and it annoyed him to no end when he was working and a group of women came in and started talking with him about random topics that he had no interest in.

╔═════════════════════════════════╗
[Offensive Mastery] | [Taijutsu] | [Genin] | [Fuuton -- Raiton]

XXXXListening intently to his Sensei, Kazeshini gave a soft smile, happy to finally begin learning the technique his Sensei was known for. Though…shaking his head he reminded himself that Raitora wasn’t just his sensei anymore, but Kinto’s as well. After Raitora finished speaking and began showing the technique in use the blonde-haired genin gave an awe-filled stare, finally seeing just how fast the punches were in person. Nodding to himself Kazeshini rushed over to the side, beginning his usual warm-up’s, pushups, kicks, punches, and a few stretches to keep himself limber after a tough warm-up. Stretching his back to finish it off, Kazeshini jumped to his feet, finally prepared to begin his training of the Raiken after finishing up his pre-training workout. Stepping off to his own side of the Dojo the excited genin took a deep breathe, focusing deep inside of himself to find his chakra center, knowing it would take a lot of concentration and practice to master the molding of the technique.

XXXXIt was basically a more focused version of the Raiton no Yoroi, a technique used mostly by the current Raikage Michiko Daishi. He’d heard of other Shinobi who used the famed technique, one being his sensei Raitora, though the man didn’t use it much, instead focusing on his Taijutsu. Shrugging his shoulders to loosen the muscles in them, Kazeshini stepped back, closing his eyes before beginning to channel his chakra throughout his body, slowly allowing the energy to crawl up his body, flaring around his hands. With that done he began molding it into the required lightning chakra, watching as lightning erupted around his hands, consuming from his knuckles up to his shoulders. Though the lightning materialized it was not yet complete, attributed by the fact that his muscles and reflexes in his arms hadn’t changed at all, leaving it the same speed and agility. Whereas his Sensei’s speed had increased by a large amount he himself had no change aside from the lightning erupting around the skin. Similar to the Raikiri or Chidori Kazeshini began to mold the lightning further, condensing it down to a thin layer of electric chakra, electricity arching off his arms wildly as he fought to control the wild element.

XXXXThe more he condensed it the wilder the lightning became, lashing out at the ground and air around him, where it hit on the ground small steaming scorch marks could be seen, whereas the air just became filled with static, electricity flowing throughout the air around him. Gritting his teeth in agony the male willed the lightning to condense even further, skirting dangerously close to his skin. The hair on his arms stuck up slightly, his sleeves burning away slowly as the heat of the lightning lit the cloth on fire. Frowning he released the technique, allowing the technique to disperse in a wave of lightning into the air. Shaking his head in annoyance he shook his arms, ridding them of the slight numb feeling they’d received after failing to use the technique originally. Cracking his neck determinedly Kazeshini decided attempt the technique once more, this time focusing more on controlling the lightning itself as opposed to condensing it down more.

XXXXWith that thought in mind he began, drawing on his chakra once more before slowly converting it to Raiton chakra, with that done he let it flow throughout his arms, lightning erupting around them as a loud crackling sound filled the air around him. He’d heard this sound plenty of times before when his Sensei trained around him, or showed him the technique previously. Giving a soft smile he began punching the air, his arms bulging slightly, hands blurring forward as he did so. He’d trained his punches millions of times before this now, so it was easy enough for him to repeatedly punch, though he wasn’t expecting such a fast rate of speed, able to hit at least fifty times in the span of five seconds before he stopped. Letting his hands drop to his side the lightning dispersed from his arms, sweat dripping from his face and body to the floor. His muscles burned, attributed to the fact that they weren’t used to delivering quite as many punches in such a short time as he’d done.

XXXXSmiling softly to himself Kazeshini turned to where Raitora and Kinto where, walking slowly over to the two before stopping before his sensei, giving him the good guy pose. ”It seems I have finished my training Sensei...I will demonstrate it again for you.” With that said he stepped back away from his Sensei and teammate, reaching deep within himself to grasp his chakra once more. With that done he brought it forth, making sure to convert it to the Raiton chakra he needed. With that done he channeled it through his arms, allowing the lightning to erupt around them, his arms tensing in anticipation as he began preparing to show his learning of the technique finally. Settling into his usual Goken stance, Kazeshini began his show, muscles bulging as his arms blurred forward. Once again he delivered at least forty punches, maybe even fifty before stopping, sweat sliding down his arms and face to drip to the floor slowly. His body was tired, after doing his workout in the Raikage’s office, coupled with the second workout he’d done in the Dojo, he was exhausted. Taking a deep breathe he settled down, the lightning dispersing into particles of chakra before disappearing into the air. With that done he gave another smile, facing his sensei to wait for the man to speak on his technique, hoping it was done well enough that he was finished training it for now.

XXXXHe wanted to begin training other Taijutsu techniques, maybe even learning to combine the Raiken with his own Goken that he’d learned from books on the old Konoha Taijutsu master Maito Gai, a man from long ago who’d passed the techniques of the strong fist down through his family, making sure to keep them within practice. After reading many books on the style and what it consisted of Kazeshini began training in it, taking time out of his days at the academy to practice the strenuous techniques. Though overtime his muscles were used to the hard work, to the point where his usual workout seemed like nothing compared to the newer ones he began doing. Shaking his head to get out of past things that had happened Kazeshini focused on his Sensei, patiently waiting for the man to evaluate his Raiken to see if he’d successfully learned the powerful technique his Sensei developed.」™

Mikoto Suoh

Let the fun and games begin...
...She is spayed and broken in

Rank: Jounin
Chakra: 550/550
Stamina 440/440

XXXXXStepping silently through the doors of the Dojo Mikoto glanced about with a calm gaze, watching the various Shinobi train and rest from training. He needed to step up his own training and finish learning the styles he'd selected if he was going to be of any use to his Anbu squad. Walking past the purple haired boy who seemed to be doing chakra training, Mikoto stepped up to one of the training posts off towards the side of the dojo, staring down at it with a blank look. He was about to begin his Tanisoko training, hoping to get most of that done before being sent on any important missions that might require him to fight. Stepping towards one of the many posts lining the dojo the red-head retrieved a simple pair of black Tonfa’s with a single piece of silver tape at the ends of both of them. Spinning them about by the handle, Mikoto looked them over silently, making sure they would be able to handle the stress he’d put them through with his training.

XXXXXFinding them well enough to use the red-head stepped forward slowly, preparing to begin learning the style. Thankfully it wasn’t too hard to start out with, something he needed at the moment after traveling for so long on his mission. Raising his arms, Tonfa’s in hand the male glanced forward, shifting his body so his non-dominant side was facing the dummy. With that done he raised his arms even further, reaching nearly shoulder height as he stood there. This would allow him more power behind his strikes, as a result of having the proper stance to lash out with during his techniques. With that done he lowered his arms, bringing them back down to his sides before taking a deep breathe to relax his muscles so they weren’t too tense when practicing these moves.

XXXXXDeciding to move on from the basic stance he stepped forward, knowing it was time to begin training how to block and counter with Tonfa’s. Being a Kenjutsu user he was used to doing so with a Katana, he was not however used to blocking with something like a Tonfa. Raising his arms into the basic stance for the Tanisoko style Mikoto stood still, waiting patiently for the unseen mark he’d needed to use the technique. Moments later his arms blurred forward, the left Tonfa raising up to block an unseen strike from the dummy, followed up with a swift strike of his right arm, smashing the head of the training dummy with seeming ease. Stepping back from his spot Mikoto gave an appraising gaze to the damage, deciding it was good enough to work properly in an actual fight.

XXXXXWith that move down he decided to work on a basic double Tonfa block, involving a cross shaped block of both the sticks to gain the best strength against blows. Raising his arms to shoulder height the red-head stood firm, before bursting into movement by raising his Tonfa’s, crossing them like that of a wooden cross used against vampires in old myths. Bracing his body like he normally would in a fight the male remained in that position for a few moments before dropping his arms to his side, satisfied with the feeling that it gave when he did the movements. He could tell it would be good enough to block even a basic Katana strike, should he get the proper Tonfa’s made from the stores as opposed to the wooden ones he was training with.

XXXXXCracking his neck loudly Mikoto settled into a loose Tanisoko stance, opting to not raise his arms in place for allowing his arms to hang lazily at his sides, not too tense but not too relaxed as well. Quickly bringing his arms up the male went about parrying an unseen blow, shoving it to the side by use of his Tonfa, resulting in what he could tell would be a much less taxing way to stop a blow from reaching him than the block. As opposed to taking the impact against his body, he’d instead redirect it away from him, which would also allow him to lash out with a counterattack should he succeed in throwing them off from their initial attack.

XXXXXWith that done he raised his arms into the normal stance, arms at shoulder height as he stood in front of the training dummy. Giving a deep inhale of breathe followed by an exhale he moved, spinning his left Tonfa swiftly before delivering a rough strike to the side of the dummy, causing it to crush in slightly before he spun it once more, bringing it up to strike the right arm of the post. With that done he switched to his right hand, spinning that Tonfa quickly before delivering two rapid strikes to the side of the dummy. Following through with that strike he delivered a quick backward spin of the stick, allowing him to land a rough strike to the left arm of the stand. Stepping back with a soft sigh he stared in appreciation of the damage, deciding it was good enough to use in an actual fight.

XXXXXMoving on from that basic movement Mikoto stepped forward, spinning his right Tonfa so it was more towards the back of his hand, with that done he swung upwards. Following the basic swing with a rough thrust of power the red-head watched as the Tonfa slammed roughly into the jaw of the training dummy, crushing it in solidly with the power behind the hit. Raising an eyebrow at the damage Mikoto gave a soft exhale of breathe, releasing the tension from his muscles as he inspected the blunt force of the Tonfa. Though he knew it wouldn’t do as much damage to a human it was surprising just how powerful the hit was, even against a basic wooden training post.

XXXXXKnowing he’d need to eventually work in the ability to use both Tonfa’s at once Mikoto stepped forward, spinning his right stick before slowly working in a steady spin of the left Tonfa, getting a basic rhythm going so as to actually get down the movements needed to be able to use both sticks seamlessly. Deciding to speed up the spinning he was doing slightly the red-head gave a smile at the progress, feeling as if he somehow knew he could speed up even further. Opting to do so he increased the speed of the spins once more, resulting in a windmill looking spin on his Tonfa’s, wind blowing off the sticks as he did so. With that done he stopped the spinning of the blades, working on using the previous techniques with both hands. After nearly thirty minutes of doing this he stopped, sweat glistening on his neck and face. Taking a deep breathe the red-head reached for the hem of his shirt, pulling it over his head before dropping it next to him. With the constricting white fabric gone his muscles were visible, his body rippling with each movement he made. Though his muscles were large they weren’t overly so, fitting his body just right as opposed to being too bulky or too small. Sweat shined on his torso as he stood there, breathing heavily after working out for so long.

XXXXXAfter a few moments to allow his body to cool down Mikoto stepped back, figuring it was time to work on yet another blocking technique after learning the few attacking techniques he had. Raising his Tonfa’s towards his shoulders he stepped back, making room for his body before closing his eyes. Once more he’d need to do “shadow boxing” as many called it. Even though it was called that it was really just imagining an opponent moving and reacting to it to train your body and mind without requiring a partner, something he sorely was lacking right at this moment. Waiting for the shadow to make its move Mikoto raised his arms even further, Tonfa’s forward from his chest as he stood there. With that done he shoved the weapons away from his body using the sticks, resulting in the phantom opponent stumbling backwards with his blades parried away. With that done he moved instantly into his next technique, dashing forward before spinning both Tonfa’s so he could grip them properly. With that done he swung them in front of him in a cross shape, left stick connecting with the Phantom Opponents chest before being quickly followed up with the right Tonfa coming to slam roughly upwards into the opponent’s stomach.

XXXXXGiving a soft exhale of air the red-head gave a nod at the feeling he’d felt, knowing that if he used that in an actual fight the first strike would most likely stun the opponent, allowing the second strike to hit with ease. Though the speed at which both were delivered alone would allow that to happen, it was still possible to force yourself to move away from it using willpower and agility alone. Deciding to take yet another break Mikoto sat down near the training dummy, legs out in front of him to allow him easier breathing as opposed to having to labor for breathe due to putting pressure on the lunges. Taking large breathes of air the red-head gave a deep exhale before deciding to continue with his training for a few more minutes.

XXXXXStanding up once again the male raised his arms, Tonfa’s in hand as he stared at the same Phantom Opponent from before. Nodding his head he watched as the shadowy being acted, sending a well-timed lunging stab towards the right side of his side. Raising his right Tonfa quickly Mikoto spun it swiftly, watching as the wood of the stick collided with the blunt edge of the Katana, sending it directly down into the floor below. With that done he lashed out with his left hand, spinning the Tonfa before slamming it roughly atop the opponents head, sending it crashing into the ground painfully. Opening his eyes he watched as the being disappeared, resulting in a smirk from the red-haired Jounin. It seemed useful enough so he wouldn’t complain about it being a flashy move.

XXXXXMoving on from that he stood back, staring calmly at the post before thinking over the next move he’d be learning. It was a basic grip breaker that many other styles used themselves. Some styles being to smash the fingers of the opponent with the blunt end of the sword whilst others to merely slice them off. This one however seemed to be like the prior, smashing the fingers to break their grip on their weapon. Nodding to himself the male stepped forward, channeling chakra throughout his left arm and Tonfa, with that done he closed his eyes once more, causing the Phantom Opponent to appear before him. With that done he watched as the enemy slashed towards his left arm, resulting in Mikoto raising the chakra infused Tonfa to block the strike. Following up the strike the red-head lashed out with the right Tonfa, slamming it into the wrist of the Phantom Opponent, resulting in a loud crack in his mind as he fractured the bones in its wrist, resulting in it dropping its weapon due to a lack of being able to grip the hilt of the Katana properly. With that done he decided that was enough training for a few hours the male placed the Tonfa’s back on the rack, walking over slowly towards a small container which held a few small water bottles.

XXXXXRetrieving one of the small bottles of water Mikoto twisted open the cap, reaching up to take a large gulp of the warm water, letting his dry mouth wet itself after feeling the liquid touch his tongue. With that done he walked over towards one of the small spots near the walls of the Dojo, ten or so feet away from the two he’d seen resting and eating before when he entered the building. Reaching into his pants pocket the red-head retrieved his pack of cigarettes, lighting one before bringing up to his lips. With that done he took a deep drag from it, blowing the smoke out in front of him before closing his eyes and leaning his head back softly against the wall behind him.

Training in order
Fighting Stance
Rank: E :: Simple
Description: The user stands with the non-dominant side of the body toward the foe and the sticks raised at an angle at about shoulder height. This is the basic stance of the style and offers a very slight power boost to techniques executed from this position.

Block and Counter
Rank: E :: Simple
Description: The user performs a firm block with one of the sticks and strikes at the foe with the other. The block is effective at stopping weapons that weigh less than fifteen [ 15 ] pounds in weight. The counter can be any technique that only requires one stick.

Double Block
Rank: E :: Simple
Description: The user raises both sticks and crosses them to perform a very powerful block. The block is effective at stopping most kinds of weapons.

Parry
Rank: D :: Simple
Description: In a very fluid motion, the user redirects an incoming attack with one or both sticks. This is much less taxing than blocking, since it simply moves the target of an incoming attack. Never performed by hitting the sharp edge of a blade.

Contact
Rank: D :: Simple
Description: The user swings the stick toward the side of the opponent’s body. This strike is powerful enough to leave painful bruises where it hits. This is almost never used to strike an opponent’s head.

Upward Sweep
Rank: D :: Simple
Description: The user swings upward with the stick in the back hand while stepping toward the target to increase power. Because this attack is typically aimed at the jaw, it is very likely to momentarily stun the opponent.

Dexterity: Two Halves
Rank: C :: Training
Description: Basic training in the style involves using the techniques one at a time, but this is slightly problematic when it comes to higher-level movements. To increase overall skill and proficiency with the weapons of this style, the user trains by using both sticks simultaneously instead of in the disjointed way that the early stages emphasized. After mastering this training, the user gains a moderate boost to speed with the arms.

Parting Block
Rank: C :: Simple
Description: The user blocks two different attacks at the same time by raising both sticks in front of the torso, and then shoves the weapons away from his or her body. This technique almost always ends with the user too close for medium and longer weapons to be of any use.

Cross Strike
Rank: C :: Simple
Description: The user quickly swings both sticks for a particular point on the target’s body so that one stick hits just after the other moves out of the way. This combined attack strategy leaves heavy bruising and can break weaker bones. Due to the speed of this technique, it is almost impossible to dodge the second strike if the first lands.

Wheel Block
Rank: C :: Simple
Description: The user spins and uses one stick to knock an incoming attack down from the outside. The purpose of this block is not to stop the attack, but rather to propel it downward and place the enemy in an unfavorable position. The block can be quickly followed by a one-handed strike from the unused hand. If the attack does not change the user’s direction of motion, then it gains a moderate boost in power.

Grip Break
Rank: C :: Complex
Description: The user performs a Chakra-reinforced block with one stick to completely stop an incoming attack. At the same time, the user also swings the other stick for the hand that is holding the weapon. This strike causes severe pain in the targeted area and usually breaks the opponent’s grip if it lands. If used on a Taijutsu technique, the strike is aimed for a joint.

Theme Song of Tenchi Hyuuga

XXXXXWalking slowly onto the field, Tenchi gave a soft sigh, running his fingers through his hair slowly. He wanted to get some training done before making his way to the Otokage’s office. It was easier for him to get the training done beforehand, considering he wanted to get a decent amount of missions done to build up money to buy a surplus of Arrows for his bow. Thankfully he managed to borrow a decent amount of arrows before making his way to the Dojo to do some training. Walking over near one of the training dummies, Tenchi reached behind him to retrieve his compact longbow from his back. Unfurling the bow, he snapped his wrist outwards, causing the bow to extend to its full length. Grasping one of the arrows held within his Quiver, Tenchi pulled it slowly from the leather holster, bringing it up to nock the arrow. Drawing it back firmly, the white-haired Hyuuga took aim, lining the bow up with the training dummy. Releasing the shaft of the arrow, he watched as it shot forward swiftly. Ripping through the air the silver-tipped arrow pierced into the dummy, breaking through wood to stick firmly in the post.

XXXXXNodding his head in satisfaction Tenchi decided to work on his speed as opposed to accuracy. Though archery was largely based upon accuracy, speed was also important should he be forced to rapid-fire. Nocking another arrow to his bow, the Hyuuga brought it up near his face, drawing back the string tensely. Requiring a large amount of upper body-strength archery was one of the best exercises a Shinobi could perform to have useful muscles rather than overly-large and useless muscles. With the arrow nocked and bow drawn back Tenchi let the arrow fly, quickly reaching into his quiver to grab another arrow, nocking it onto his bow before letting it loose yet again. The first arrow pierced through the air, splitting the previous arrow down the middle. The second arrow however shot off rather far to the side, missing the target by a wide mile.

XXXXXWith that done it was time to work on making the arrow arc in a specific direction, useful for reaching enemies behind cover or even just behind another human. Cracking his neck he reached behind him, retrieving an arrow before nocking it upon the string of his bow. It seemed like a simple enough technique, but he knew from experience the difficulty of bow-based Bukijutsu. His father had used such a style, which is what resulted in Tenchi wanted to train in it himself. Narrowing his eyes upon the training dummy, the white-haired Hyuuga made an imaginary mark upon the wood, deciding that was where he would aim the arrow when he released it. Channeling chakra throughout the arrow shaft, Tenchi let the string go, sending the arrow flying through the air before curving almost immediately. Watching it curve mid-air caused a smile to spread over his lips, the arrow piercing through the wood roughly. The wood was splintered and almost looked as if it was hit by a bo-staff or great sword

XXXXXPerhaps it was time to work on Rapid firing, not the easiest of skills but also one of the nicer ones needed in a pinch. Useful when a person comes in close range upon the archer, they can fire off multiple arrows into the enemy, piercing them through with the arrow shafts. Smiling to himself Tenchi retrieved an arrow from his quiver, nocking it on his string before drawing it back. Tensing his shoulders firmly, the Hyuuga let the arrow fly, immediately reaching behind him to retrieve a second arrow, nocking that he let it fly instantly, repeating that action nearly ten times. Though it lacked almost all the accuracy of a normal arrow shot, it still managed to clip the training dummy four out of ten times; the first arrow of course hit, followed by two misses and three more hits. It was quite a useful ability if one can master hitting more than just a few of the arrows used. Though for now it didn’t have much use in his mind, considering he could instead pierce an enemies head with one shot over using ten or fifteen.

XXXXXDeciding to work on the spear style he wanted to learn Tenchi flicked his wrist, turning the bow into its previously compact form before placing it upon his back alongside the quiver. With that done he reached his hand near his chest, unsealing a large spear from it. The spear was rather jagged, with a spike on the very back end of it, alongside near the tip of the spear. The tip itself was a rather vicious looking thing, with two points, one larger than the other, yet the small one still remained deadly. The longer blade curved halfway up, resulting in what seemed to be an execution device, capable of slicing a man’s head off at the neck. It was an intimidating yet beautiful thing, something Tenchi took pride in having.

XXXXXSettling into a basic yet incredibly useful stance, Tenchi made sure to position his feet correctly, one foot forward, bringing the spear up so the blade was level with his shoulder, with the back of the spear reaching near his knee. Though it was a basic thing it was incredibly useful when attempting to pierce somebody at a close range, capable of quick bursts of strength and agility when performing the attack. The biggest benefit being that the leg holding the most of the user’s weight is able to push off the ground to thrust the spear forward into a person if needed. Nodding to himself in satisfaction Tenchi opted to remain in the stance, prepared to perform the next technique that was supposed to be learned whilst practicing his chosen style.

XXXXXIt was a simple yet effective thrust of the spear, capable of causing deep wounds that can hinder a person in a fight if needed. It was incredibly easy to perform should they have the proper arm-strength required to actually thrust the metal forward with enough strength to pierce skin. Though many people perceived such a thing as easy considering all you do is push your arms forward with the spear in hand, it was actually rather difficult to do without the proper training and mind-set. Something Tenchi wasn’t really lacking in the end, after years of archery practice he had developed more than enough muscle on his arms to thrust the spear forward to harm a person. With that thought in mind Tenchi lowered his body slightly, pushing off the ground to thrust the spear forward quickly, ripping through the wood of the training post.

XXXXXNodding to himself in approval he decided it was probably best to get the slashing motion down before even attempting to use the spear in battle. What point was there if all he could was thrust? A person merely had to weave their body left and right to avoid a thrust, whereas a slash requires more ducking and movement to dodge, leaving the opponent open for thrusts or kicks, whichever was needed in the heat of the moment. Cracking his neck Tenchi shot forward in a burst of speed, raising the spear before bringing it down swiftly, slicing through the wood with ease. Though the wound wouldn’t be very deep on an actual human, the length of the cut would be more than enough to result in immense pain and a huge hindrance on their combat ability, unless they were a complete berserker that is.

XXXXXDone with the basics attacks of the style it was time to move onto the movement portion of the spear, mainly the forward step and parry. Though there were various other useful techniques that could be learned at this point, like the downward thrust or the use of the spear-shaft to push a person down should they try to approach the user. Settling into the previous stance; right foot forward, spear held perpendicular with his shoulder, the farthest end of the shaft resting just near the back of his leg. The front step was incredibly useful when trying to add even more power to a basic thrust or slash, allowing the user to get that brief “oomph” behind an attack, something it might have lacked previously. While this move was incredibly simple, it was also incredibly useful; the biggest reason why Tenchi wanted to learn such a thing before moving on to the more advanced attacks that could be performed with a spear. Whilst remaining in the fighting stance, Tenchi took a single step forward, his body slowly inching forward as he did so. This could also be used as a scare tactic, when approached by a larger person with a larger weapon it often makes them seem even larger than previously, resulting in the mental fear of being hit sooner than thought to happen.

XXXXXSatisfied with the speed at which he could move forward the next technique Tenchi wished to learn was the basic downward thrust, something used when an enemy has fallen onto the ground, or when they are pushed down or perhaps even should he be in the air coming down on them, though he knew there were techniques down the “tree” that could be used much more efficiently than a basic thrust. Settling into the fighting stance from before, Tenchi aimed near the bottom of the training dummy with his spear. Considering the lack of an actual downed training dummy or opponent he had to make do with what he currently had, that being an upright training post made entirely of wood. Pulling the spear back ever so slightly Tenchi followed it up immediately with a thrust, shoving the spear downwards into the very bottom of the training post, splintering wood and kicking up dirt with the power held behind the thrust.

XXXXXDeciding to learn one more move before taking a break from learning the way of the spear, Tenchi figured the next best thing would be the parry. Naturally knowing how to correctly parry an attack was far more useful than another attack that one could perform. What good was another attack when you can’t even block an attack to follow up on? Cracking his neck he figured it was easier to just mentally picture an attack heading his way rather than asking another training Shinobi to attack him only to be shoved back onto their back or butt. Picturing a basic samurai with a normal-looking Katana, Tenchi took up his stance; this time focusing his weight on his left foot, pushing that forward as opposed to his right foot. The instant the “shadow” attacked him he gently pushed the slash to the side, thrusting his spear forward to push the shadow into a more vulnerable position, opening it up for any counter-attack he wished. Be it thrust or slash it was more likely to hit now than before when they weren't open.

XXXXXResealing his spear away, Tenchi revealed another seal, this one on the underside of his right arm. Sealed within was a basic Katana, one he was going to use to begin learning the Shunkan no Hagane, a supposedly incredibly useful style for a Katana wielder. The first technique to learn was just a basic chop of the blade, useful when attempting to slice a person vertically. Though not as useful as other techniques one could learn with the Katana, it was still good to master the basics before moving on to more difficult techniques like deflections or disarming techniques. Taking up a basic stance, both hands held firmly on the hilt of the blade, with the blade itself being held overhead. This was a basic slashing stance to be used with a Katana wielder. With the proper stance taken Tenchi swung his arms downwards, slicing cleanly through the training dummy, causing the two sections to fall to the sides with a dull thud. Happy with the damage dealt Tenchi moved on to the next training dummy, knowing it would be impossible use the broken pieces to learn other techniques.

XXXXXThe use of the next technique was much like the step in the spear style; however this one is used more for adding greater downward slashing power. It was a useful tool when faced off against another swordsman who is attempting to overpower you during a fight, simply step forward to add greater power to your attack and you’ll succeed in throwing them off. It was a simple technique, but one that was hard to fully master, it required impeccable timing and great lower-body strength to perform correctly without screwing up. It relied heavily on the toes and calves, using the muscles to push off the solid ground slowly but steadily. Then with a burst of power stepping forward a great length to deliver a powerful slash or stab. Settling into his previous stance of sword held high above his head in a two-handed grip Tenchi tensed his legs, pushing off the ground with his toes to step forward a single step. With the first step made he stepped forward once more, slicing downwards through the air with a powerful stroke.

XXXXXImmediately following up the forward step was a backwards step, used mostly to evade downwards slashes or sideways slices. It was also a useful positioning tool to back-step or sometimes even slightly side-step to position yourself for a better slash or stab. He could see the use in such a ability, considering how many times he was hit with a bokkun during his training with his sister when she was younger. It was a pain to not have a proper form for back-stepping. It also helped it looked rather badass when you narrowly dodge something yet still are able to counter-attack easily. It involved essentially the same thing as the forward step, except you push off with the tendons below the foot whereas the forward step involves the toes and calves. Bracing his legs for the movement Tenchi pushed off with his foot, pushing his body backwards a decent distance, almost one stride backwards.

XXXXXSatisfied with the results of the step the Hyuuga gave a deep inhale and exhale, rather tired from the intense training he’d done. Despite being basic techniques after repeatedly performing them over and over again it was quite tiring on both the muscles and mind, having to take in all of the information that came with practicing the techniques. Deciding to finish off his training session with two last techniques Tenchi stretched his arms, ridding them of the stiffness that accompanied such intense physical use. Cracking his neck he settled into a basic stance, feet spread apart with his left foot slightly further ahead of his right. His Katana was held perpendicularly with his shoulders, aiming directly in front of him. Stepping forward slowly Tenchi thrust his arm forward, shoving the blade into the wooden training dummy, piercing through the front of it. Placing his left hand against the post he jerked the blade from it, slicing it downwards to rid it of the wooden dust covering it.

XXXXXKnowing he needed to learn how to do a basic block with the Katana Tenchi settled into his previous stance, once more imagining a shadow training partner standing across from him. It was a useful training technique when you lacked a partner to attack you, though it wasn’t as good as one. It lacked the power and actual mental fear of being hit by an attack which caused the body to naturally defend itself from harm. Sure it was useful to master basics through its use, but aside from that it wasn’t used very often. Considering it was much easier to just request a friend help you train a certain technique as opposed to attempting to learn it through mental use only. Closing his eyes firmly the white-haired Hyuuga brought his blade up, placing his left hand behind the metal to brace it against the downwards slash the shadow made against him. It was an easy enough block, one that would only really be used for basic vertical slashes and possibly thrusts if a person was quick enough to bring it up.

XXXXXThe next block was the lower block, used to block horizontal slices and upwards slashes, though very few people actually attempted to use an upwards slash. Finding it much easier to simply use a downwards slash and cut them as opposed to losing strength trying to bring your arm upwards from a low position. Placing his sword in the correct position Tenchi braced his arm against the blade, imagining both a sideways cut, and an upwards cut, adjusting the positioning to fit each cut. This was yet another easy move, but a very useful one when in a pinch. He’d prefer to parry something rather than block it, but it was still useful. Silently contemplating to himself if he should do more training he stabbed his Katana into the ground, leaning on it to relax for a moment.

XXXXXOpting to continue his training Tenchi pulled his Katana from the earth, cleaning it off before holding it lazily at his side. This was yet another type of block, this one being more of a parry as opposed to a simple block. Cracking his neck again Tenchi brought his blade up, picturing the shadow opponent in his mind once again. With that done he waited for the shadow to approach him, patiently standing there with his Katana raised. This was another simple technique; involving the use of pivoting on your leg whilst blocking to knock the blade away from the user. It was a useful thing when in a fight, capable of deflecting some of the more advanced techniques of other sword styles. Focusing once more on the shadow opponent Tenchi brought his blade up, feeling metal connect with metal as he stood there, legs spread slightly apart. Pivoting on his right leg he shoved the blade away, causing it to connect with the earth below them. With that done he stepped forward, thrusting the blade forward to pierce its “stomach” cleanly.

XXXXXThis next technique could be used against a training dummy, something that would make it a lot easier to get down as opposed to the ones involving blocking an actual attack to master. This one involved grinding the blades together to close the distance between the user and the opponent, which can then be followed up with a counterattack or kick to knock the enemy away from you. Shooting forwards towards the training dummy Tenchi slashed forward with his blade, causing it to collide with a loud thud against the wood. Though it sliced partially through the wood, it was still useful practice about the proper form for colliding the blades. Despite being a rather simple technique it was also hard to master, one slipup and there’s the possibility of slicing your hand or worse. Pulling the blade from the wood Tenchi swiped the blade downwards, ridding it of the imaginary blood on it.

XXXXXSheathing the Katana finally, Tenchi sealed it away within his arm, reaching up to unseal the spear from his chest. Settling into the basic fighting stance of the Mori no Ichigeki the Hyuuga took a deep inhale before slowly exhaling out, narrowing his eyes on to the training dummy. This was one of the only techniques he decided to not learn from the stage previously. It was a basic knockdown that was used when an enemy attempts to dodge and immediately close the gap between the user and the opponent. It was quite a useful thing to learn when trying to master the spear fighting style. It allowed for a follow up of a downward thrust or stomp if you wish to incapacitate the enemy to bring in as a prisoner. Imagining the usual shadow opponent in his head Tenchi kept his basic stance up, thrusting his spear forward, watching as the shadow dodged to the side before dashing forward only to be met with shaft of Tenchi’s spear, shoving forward to send the shadow onto its back. With that done he followed it up by raising his spear up slightly, thrusting it downwards into the face of the shadow. Stepping backwards he spun the spear around, sealing it away within his chest. That was enough training for his actual melee based Bukijutsu training, he wanted to finish the rest of the archery training he was originally planning on doing.

XXXXXRetrieving his longbow from his back he snapped his wrist outwards, resulting in the bow reaching its full length of six foot four inches. With that done he retrieved an arrow from his quiver, nocking it onto the string of his bow before taking a deep breathe. He’d heard from his father previously that this technique was relatively hard to master since it involved a lot of physics and dynamics. Leaving the string loose Tenchi reached up with his hand, closing his eyes before slowly waiting for the wind to blow against it in an attempt to gather all the information he needed to properly fire the sidewinder. Channeling chakra throughout the shaft of the arrow Tenchi drew back the string tensely. Waiting patiently for the sweet spot of the pullback the Hyuuga slowed his breathing to a near halt, a soft exhale happening every few seconds. This resulted in a calming of his heart-rate, which makes it easier to focus on one thing to properly aim a technique. Moments later he let the arrow fly, the string making a loud twang sound when the arrow shot from the bow. Watching as it curved through the air gracefully he gave a smile, seeing the arrow rip through the wooden post before sticking firmly into the earth below it.

XXXXXSatisfied with the amount of damage the arrow caused Tenchi inhaled deeply, closing his eyes before stretching the muscles in his back gently. All the use of his back and arm muscles were really starting to wear down on him. He could probably only perform one or two more techniques before his arms gave out and he had to take an extremely long break. Thankfully that would allow him to go retrieve his headband, as opposed to simply grabbing his headband and not training for a few days. Despite training for a few hours this morning at the Hyuuga compound Tenchi knew he needed to train harder now that he was a Genin. If he was going to protect his sisters from harm at all he was going to have train a lot harder than usual. Gladly accepting the ability to train before doing missions Tenchi retrieved another arrow from his quiver before closing his eyes to relax himself for a moment before continuing to train his bow techniques. He supposed he should practice firing a bow with his Byakugan, but that would come at a later time. Now was the time to just master the basics of the bow and various other tricks of the bow.

XXXXXNocking the arrow upon the string once more Tenchi opened his eyes slowly, focusing his piercing gaze on the training dummy before him. This was a more utility based technique, done by firing a chakra infused arrow up into the air to gather the electrical charge of the atmosphere. It was a useful technique should it actually work properly like he hoped it would. By charging a large amount of flexible chakra into the arrow the user proceeds to fire it into the air, causing the arrow to gain electrical charge by way of rising and falling at such a rapid speed. Despite seeming rather arrogant; by the fact that the user just shot an arrow into the air therefor wasting a perfectly useful arrow in the opponent’s eyes, it had its uses. When it made contact with the earth the electricity discharges outwards, resulting in an extremely sluggish moving enemy. This would allow the user to follow up with a basic arrow to the head, or possibly to the legs to immobilize the opponent. With the mental breakdown of the technique done Tenchi aimed his bow into the air, angling it so the arrow would instead fall onto the training dummy as opposed to simply discharging its electricity into the earth. Letting the arrow rip from the bow and into the air Tenchi took a deep breathe watching as the arrow shot up into the air before arching downwards to come falling down at a rapid speed. Coming in contact with the training dummy the white haired Genin winced, looking at the large crater the arrow caused.

XXXXXDeciding to take a break from his training of the bow Tenchi placed his bow upon his back, making sure to compact it before doing so. With that done the male unsealed a bottle of water from his wrist, tilting his head back to take a large gulp of water. Finishing that up the male poured the remainder of the water onto his head, resulting in a drenched head of hair and shirt. Grasping the hem of his shirt Tenchi pulled it over his head, revealing his toned body below it. Sweat glistened off his muscles which rippled and tensed with each move he made, a rather normal thing for any archery practitioner. Deciding it was finally time to head to the Otokage’s office Tenchi sealed his wet shirt away, walking off the training field. 』™

Sitting up fully from his laying position Nobuyuki took a deep breathe in, taking in the smell of the area around him. The smell of water in the air followed by the trees and various flowers…it was like heaven. Perhaps that was why he was a Senju, because he loved nature as much as he did. Who knows in the end; he certainly didn’t care too much in the end, opting instead to just embrace his heritage and blood. Deciding to begin training already he walked into the middle of the clearing, tilting his head back to look into the air before cracking his neck. With that done he began channeling chakra throughout his arms, though this wasn’t normal chakra; instead being that of the Mokuton chakra he had the ability to use due to his Kekkei Genkai. Focusing on slowly turning the molecules in his arms into wood, Nobuyuki closed his eyes; wincing slightly as a wave of pain flooded throughout his arms when they finally began shifting. When they finished turning into the trees that he willed them to be he channeled more chakra into them, watching as they shot forward like stakes, piercing into a small training dummy sitting on the opposite side of the clearing.

Nodding to himself in satisfaction that he managed to get the Mokuton: Daijurin no Jutsu [ Wood Release: Great Forest Technique ] down so quickly he allowed his arms to return to normal, reverting into his usual pale colored flesh. He moved on to the next technique he could remember, knowing it would be quite useful on a long mission that would require a place to stay should he be lacking a sleeping bag or tent. It was called the Mokuton: Shichūka no Jutsu [ Wood Release: Four-Pillar House Technique ] a rather useful technique that involved transforming the roots under the earth into raw materials. With that done he would accelerate the growth of said materials, using his imagination to shape them into what he wanted the home to look like. Deciding he had the basics down well enough he blurred through a small set of handseals, slamming his hand into the earth before channeling his chakra through the dirt and towards the roots below him. With that done he would slowly begin to pump a steady line of chakra into them, forcing them to shoot up from the ground like a large tree emerging from the earth below. Whilst doing that he would begin to imagine the basic shape of a house, watching with a smile as the roots began to take that shape. Moments later a fully done house was done, sitting in the middle of the clearing behind in the academy proudly. Nodding once more at his success he allowed the wood to return to the earth once more, signaling the techniques end.

The next Mokuton technique Nobuyuki wanted to learn was called the Mokuton: Jubaku Eiso [ Wood Release: Tree Bind Flourishing Burial ] a powerful binding technique which involved growing a small tree that would slowly wrap around the enemy; binding them in place. Unlike most wood-based techniques; the Jubaku Eiso requires some preparation before being used, since it was less of a combat technique and more of a restraining technique. The preparation involved crushing a small pile of earth below you, before adding a small bit of water to the crushed up earth. With that done the user would channel Mokuton chakra throughout the small puddle; using it as a catalyst to grow a decently sized tree that would begin to wrap around the opponent to bind then. The user can then command the trees to slowly begin crushing the enemy; resulting in their body imploding. It was a dangerous technique if given enough time to prepare it before engaging the enemy in combat. With that in mind Nobuyuki kneeled down, slammed his fist gently into the ground; just enough to grind up some earth without dealing too much damage. With that done he poured some water into it; resulting in a small puddle of muddy earth at his feet. With that done he blurred through a small set of handseals; channeling his chakra throughout his palm before placing it against the puddle. With that done he pushed the Mokuton chakra from his palm, a small tree slowly beginning to grow up from the earth. After a few moments the small tree turned into a large tree, roughly twice the size of an average sized human male. Nodding at the size and thickness of the tree Nobuyuki allowed it to return to the earth below, disappearing beneath the dirt.
