Description: Human form.Weapon FormHistory: She was born within a samurai family known within Kyoto region because of their skilled Swordsmanship. After all their had some students within shinigami's academy in the past. Even though the family consisted mostly of Meisters, it occasionally managed to produce a Weapon.
Kasai could be described as the obedient and sweet daughter of Mr. and Mrs Yamakaji. Growing up within the graceful hands of her mother, always surrounded by delightful floral decorations and fancy kimonos that would help her display her long and rare crimson mane which gracefully fell bellow her back as time passed by. However, despite growing up with so much beauty and grace around her, Kasai's heart had always been within the familiar dojo.
Being fascinated with the Samurai tradition of her family, Kasai spent most of her time within the training dojo. Watching the sparring matchs the elders could see the fire in her eyes, her desire to wield a sword was recon without any doubts.
The time had passed and the young girl became a young lady, time and perseverance had lead her once again inside the dojo, this time however, no longer as an observer but as a dedicated student.
Her skills with the sword were appealing and promising however she showed some dizziness at times.
One day during a regular practice with bokutos she eventually loss her balance and fell harshly against the floor, however she didnt felt any pain, just a the empty sound of metal clashing against the floor. Before she knew, Kasai woke up having the shape of a edgeless Katana.
She was greatly upset, she wouldn't get to be a Meister as her father.
She hated it. She wanted to be a meister just as him. To be able to wield weapons who'll help her raise and show off her skills. Not just an adornment in combat as she wrongly categorized weapons.
No matter how much her parents tried to convince her, she wasn't happy with the Idea of being a weapon. As the time passed, she continued denying it, however her inner instincts as a weapon where subduing her little by little.
When she practiced, the dizziness returned each time stronger, taking away little by little her chance to practice or even get near the dojo. Denying her soul had caused her great grief, if only she had accepted her fate, but it wasn't her case, she was just too stubborn to give up like that.
Teenage is a hard stage, the land of illusions and delusions. The lovely girl who was Dad's pride was now a rebellious tomboy. She even cut off her long hair just about the height of her chin, only to wear a pony tail which mostly made her look like a samurai in train. Showing her determination to become a Samurai who wields a sword, not a sword to be used by another person.
Her girly and fancy clothes where replaced for jeans and loose shirts, sometimes a cap. She caused uproars upon her city, beating up teens her age or older in sparring tournaments by using only her hands for her dizzying episodes where only when she used a sword. Capturing and disarming her foes was her only tool which she grew skilled at, of course it only worked so far with bokutos and other wooden blades, never a real combat.
Concerned at his daughter's behavior not changing or improving with time. He was forced to confront her for as much as it pained him. She wasn't herself anymore, and kept denying her true self only to chase a dream that was there no more.
Life wasn't over just because she couldn't become a Meister like him. She could still train with the sword and become a good, respectable swordsman. However the grief she had held for so many years was the real reason for her not being able to wield a weapon.
She had to find her inner peace and live content accepting who she was. His words of wisdom had no value against a hurten pride.
It was at the bloom of her life being 19, where everything changed. She was wandering at the outskirts of Tokyo, having her bokuto with her, she never left her home without it even tho she was unable to use it.
The tomboyish girl wandered with that attire of hers as she found a rare scene, three despicable youths picking on a young girl who had the bad luck of crossing their paths. One of them had the girl startled with a knife while another examined her belongings and the third one trying to have his way with the minor. She could not accept this.
Dashing as silently as she could she grappled the last man's neck and forced him to release the girl, who was told to run and she did so. Knocking him down, there where just two more to go. The one with the purse held back while the one with the knife took on Kasai. Using her training she was able to block the knife and unarm the person kicking his groin to knock him out quickly as she soon would notice the blood in her hands, it was the first time she had done this with a real weapon. However she gave it not much of importance since there was still one more to go.
Upon the last stand however, there was a detail she did not took in consideration, the man had a gun, which he cowardly pointed at her. There was no point in turning back no as she had already sprinted towards the man so she did her best to try and reach the weapon as the man stepped back. He was to far for an arm to reach and the trigger would be pulled in any second, however it was still in a good range to be taken by the bokuto.
Kasai took her chances but the dizziness had returned as usual, just as strong as to knock her balance out before she could reach the revolver with the bokuto and just before she got shot.
After a day or two she would find herself in a bed. It would seem that the same dizziness that she held a grudge against it was also the reason she was still among the living.
After loosing her balance the shot was given to her shoulder. She passed away because of the shock and the obvious blood loss. After all it was her first experience with a firearm. If only she had listened to his father and learn how to live with the fact of her being a weapon, none of this would had happened. She was lucky to be alive, that some officers where on their way to Kyoto and spot the girl that was saved early. That the girl had the courage to explain the officers what happened and that the officers where able to be in time to caught the man right after the first shot.
Now, Kasai saw all this, her life was passing before her eyes in multiple occasions as she realized her mistake and tried to swallow her pride and ask for direction and wisdom.
Her parents. Grateful to lord death for letting Kasai's soul not to be reaped from them, begged the elders to give her a second chance, to send her where their ancestors had learned the secrets of the heart and soul of the sword. Where their swordsmanship acquired respect from their comrades and fear from their foes. Death's academy.
And so, after the wound healed and was ready to go, that she took her parent's and elder's blessings. She was given a wooden sword.
"When the time comes, and the last of your grief is cleansed, a new light will shine. When you overcome your pride then your true colors will bleed out of your discipline and determination. And only then your soul will flourish, and your sins forgiven."With that last piece of advice and a wooden sword, the young weapon took the next ship to America, where she would travel to Death City, searching for answers, discipline and forgiveness. And with some luck, the inner peace she longed for.
