History:
Yukino was raised in a hidden monastery near the peak of the Tibetan mountains. In the monastery, she was trained in the ways of self defense and taught to hone the power of the ice and snow, rather than fight against it. Such techniques are secret to her people, and consist of calling small blizzards to her aid, forming ice shards to use as projectiles, and forming walls and shields out of ice. (Without a partner to enhance these techniques, they are quite weak, and fizzle about 75% of the time.) Once she'd turned twelve, she was permitted to begin teaching herself armed combat, and she chose to specialize in swords. She was both a fast learner and a hard worker, devoting nearly all her free time to training and becoming stronger and faster with her blades. After several more years of training, at age eighteen, she chose to set out on her own to leave the monastery and see the world. Being the free spirit she was, she yearned to explore and learn, which could be done very little in her current situation. She knew nothing of civilization, or the lands outside her home, and she was eager to begin her journey. Many of the monks who helped to raise and nurture her begged her not to go, telling her how dangerous and unfriendly the outside world was. However, she didn't listen, and her quest for enlightenment began. Along the way, she adopted the nickname “The Snow-Wielding Samurai.”
Many years of traveling and adventures passed before Yukino stumbled upon Shibusen. By this time, she was a grown woman, made wise and mature from being on her own in the world for so long. It was around this time that she was beginning to feel weary and quite alone, so she soon decided to settle down in Death City, and take a job at the school. She knew that she, with her skill and experience, would be able to teach the children many things, and she looked forward to doing so. When the Black Blood named Adriana was taken in, she was appointed as the girl’s caretaker, due to her nurturing disposition and tact. She holds the position with high regard, and takes her job very seriously- though she more closely sees Adriana as her own child, rather than an assignment. By now, she has also discovered her gifts as a Meister, and that her icy techniques could be further strengthened by a Weapon partner, and she now seeks one- but she’s also decided that your average, everyday Weapon simply won’t do.
Personality: She has the potential to come across as very coldhearted when first met, as she is logical and straightforward. However, she is caring and motherly once you get to know her, and she is quick to open up. She is strong willed, cool-headed, and strategic, and it is very hard to truly provoke her.
