The sun was shining down upon the lands filled with hope and wonder. He was wandering to wherever his legs carried him to. There was a smile on his face as he walked feeling the weather empowering him. He was a kind soul that hated being misunderstood by almost everyone he met. He despised kalona with all his heart but most thought he was one of them. He would never hurt a soul unless he had no other choice. He had the power of fire but he rarely had to call upon the flame. Someday he would meet someone who would accpect him but untill then he would walk and soar in search of a new meaning. He did not know what he should be doing but he took each day as a new gift.

Ruada moved quickly and quietly through the trees looking for signs of a skinwalker. She'd come across a trail a few days back, but the beast whatever it was had managed to elude her. She knew better than to think it didn't know she was in it's territory, but the days of tracking and only quick naps at night to keep her going was wearing her down. Rationally she knew it would be better to come back with her parents and track the thing down as a group, but she was determined to prove that she wasn't a child anymore that needed protecting and could handle something this big on her own. Of course that was also a good way for her to get herself killed.
She huffed and struck out for the edge of the woods, and stepped out into the bright afternoon sun. "You win...for now..." she muttered under her breath. She picked up her pace and started towards a river she knew was nearby. She wasn't sure if the walker claimed this far out of it's wooded territory but the further she moved away the better she started to feel. She hadn't realized how jangled her nerves had been the last few days.
When the glistening source of water came into sight she scanned the horizon in all directions, she'd been caught unaware when getting a drink and had no intentions of having it happen again. After checking the sky one last time she finally lowered her head to drink.

Eventually he could hear the rushing of a river and headed that way. He was still smiling to himself loving the warm feeling the sun was giving him. He slowed his pace though when he spotted a figure up ahead in the distance. As he got closer to the river he slowed even more not wanting whoever it was to run off. He had no fear of kalona or skinwalkers since he very well could defend himself in any situation. He then noticed the figure was drinking from the river and he stopped behind a tree so he could wait till they left. He hated when others ran from him and he knew it would be the same thing this time f he tried to approach. Keep his distance was his way of not starting anything or ending up making others mad at him. He did wonderer though if it would be best for him to reveal himself instead of hiding making him look worse than he already did.
He shook his head though but this tree would not be very good at hiding him. Half of his red body was already sticking out and he hoped the figure would not look his way. He was not a coward he only had others best interests at mind.

Ruada's ears flicked back and forth as she drank just enough to sate her thirst. The hair on the back of her neck prickled slightly as she felt someone, somewhere was watching her. The skinwalker? She quickly pulled her head up and scanned the area off to one side. Nothing jumped out at her literally or figuratively, but just the same she checked the horned band on her foreleg making sure it was ready if something were to attack.
Satisfied that nothing was off in that particular direction, she turned her head towards the direction of the tree and found her watcher. If hiding was the big males intention he'd done a bad job of it, but that wasn't what worried her, horns and leathery wings were a far bigger concern.
Remembering lessons in bravado she puffed up her chest and struck a ready pose. "I warn you, I will not go down easy!" she called out.

He had known he had done a bad job of hiding and sure enough the figure who was up ahead had noticed him. He tried to shuffle away but ended by just turning around and looking for the one who had called him out. Glancing around he was drawn to the river and then to the mare that was standing close to it. He walked out into full view of her and eyed the mare carefully. He knew she must think he was kalona or one that was out to hurt her. Sighing softly to himself he lowered his body in a way of trying to show he meant no harm.
"You wont go down easy..? Neither would I if i chose to face you" he looks at her again hoping she would not make any drastic moves. "I do not wish to hurt hurt you mare i am softer than i look" he offers a smile that ends up showing his sharp teeth. "I hate kalona but i assume you think i am one" he shakes his head slowly and sits there waiting.
